Begin a fascinating career in the life sciences! Biologists positively impact the future with rewarding careers in biotechnology; medical fields such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, optometry, dentistry, podiatry, etc.; agriculture; education; environmental science; or research. They study living organisms to advance our understanding of life processes and our ability to solve human health problems by researching the origin, relationship, development, anatomy and functions of plant and animal life. Students seeking A.A. degrees go on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at IRSC or a university, and then seek employment as a high school teacher or in a government, public or private laboratory, or continue their education in a graduate or professional program. For those interested in careers in medicine, IRSC has partnered with the following institutions to create a pathway to an accredited medical school: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Trinity School of Medicine.
