Prepare to become a chef or culinary professional at the IRSC Culinary Institute—one of the best culinary schools in Florida— located on the Mueller Campus in Vero Beach! Complete the Associate Degree in Culinary Management to manage a kitchen or restaurant—from planning menus to pricing meals, preparing food, performing inventory, coordinating staff, and ensuring quality and safety. Graduates of the Culinary Management Degree program are prepared for industry certification exams offered through the National Restaurant Association and find employment in restaurants, catering, banquets, cruise lines, resorts and private clubs, corporate food service establishments, research and development, and more.
IRSC Programs The Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree in Culinary Management provides the necessary skills to manage restaurants and kitchens at a high level. You’ll learn about classical cuisine, international and regional foods, baking and pastries, catering and banquet management, and more. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Earn one of these valuable certificates at the same time you’re completing your A.S. Degree—get double the value and earn additional credentials. The 12-credit Chef’s Apprentice Certificate trains students in basic, entry-level skills related to the food service and hospitality industry. The 18-credit Culinary Arts Management Operations Certificate prepares students for employment as bakers, pantry cooks, prep cooks and lead cooks, and provides additional training for those already employed in these occupations. The 35-credit Culinary Arts Certificate prepares students for employment as line, lead and pantry cooks, and introduces catering and banquet preparation and entry-level leadership skills. Applicants must • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; and • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records.
