Begin your career as a vital member of the healthcare team—trained to draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations or research! Phlebotomists label, sort and record blood specimens, prepare blood smears, and provide comfort to patients during blood draws. Graduates of the IRSC Phlebotomy program seek employment at hospitals, clinics, laboratories or healthcare facilities. Many are able to set their own schedule.
The IRSC Phlebotomy Career and Technical Education program is a selective-admissions program. Final consideration is based upon completion of the following prior to the application deadline. Applicants must • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of class; • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; • Complete the IRSC Health Science Application and pay the $30 application fee; • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records; and • Consult the Phlebotomy Application Book for additional application requirements. GED® is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education (ACE) and administered exclusively by GED Testing Service LLC under license. This material is not endorsed or approved by ACE or GED Testing Service.
