Begin your career as a valued member of the healthcare team! Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) work under the direction of a physical therapist to provide services that help improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Graduates of the IRSC Physical Therapist Assistant program, sit for the Florida Jurisprudence Examination and the National PTA Licensure Examination and seek employment in a hospital, physical therapist’s office, skilled nursing facility or in-home care.
The IRSC Physical Therapist Assistant Associate in Science Degree program is a selective-admissions program. Final consideration is based upon the completion of the following prior to the application deadline. Applicants must • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of class; • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; • Complete the IRSC Health Science Application and pay the $30 application fee; • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records; and • Consult the PTA Application Book for additional application requirements. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
