Earn your Associate Degree in Social and Human Services and begin working in the human/social services field, or choose to continue your studies at IRSC by pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services. The McCabe Foundation Human Services Suite at the Treasure Coast Public Training Complex at Indian River State College provides counseling environments for adults, children and seniors to prepare you for the workplace through an internship that provides actual on-the-job work experience. Graduates pursue careers in a variety of settings including: mental health facilities, children’s service agencies, substance abuse treatment facilities, domestic abuse shelters, victim services programs and social services agencies.
IRSC Programs Associate Degree The Associate in Science Degree in Social and Human Services program teaches theories and techniques to assist clients in identifying, preventing and remediating problematic behavior to help them achieve positive personal growth. Learn to perform a wide range of tasks including interviewing and assisting clients and their caregivers with counseling or crisis intervention, outreach, victim advocacy, life skills education and group facilitation. Bachelor’s Degree Continue your education at IRSC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services. Students may choose to complete this degree entirely online through IRSC Global.* You’ll be prepared to work with individuals, families and groups in a wide array of human and social service settings. You will receive training in domestic abuse, child abuse, addictions, crisis intervention, family services, high risk youth, outreach, advocacy and human services administration. IRSC offers the following concentrations in Human Services: • Addictions Studies • Human Services Generalist • Youth & Family Studies Applicants must have an earned an A.A. or A.S. Degree with a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. An A.S. Degree in Social and Human Services is preferred. *Each online course requires at least one proctored exam.
