EDITORIAL Urgent prayer request: flooding at sathyam ministries headquaters ! Dear friends and partners, Greetings to you in the precious name of our loving and gracious Saviour Jesus Christ! As I write this letter to you, various states in India are experiencing a violent monsoon season this year. Heavy rainfall lashed various parts of the country causing flooding and leaving a trail of destruction affecting the lives of many. As a result of the heavy rains, The Sathyam Ministries Headquaters in Thiruvalla has been affected by the flooding as the water level has risen. More than a thousand books and bibles went under the water but we were still able to save more than a million books and bibles from getting wet and wasted! In addition, our ware house has been badly affected and we are suffering a financial loss of approximately Rs. 12 lakhs ($17 thousand). During these pressing moments we urgently request your prayers for the continued safety and health of everyone who has been affected as scores of homes, offices, buildings, infrastructure and more have been destroyed as a result of heavy flooding. As workers are working day and night to bring our office and bookshop back to normal, please pray for their protection and safety. We believe in the power of prayer and calling out to our Father in heaven during this time of trouble. Thank you in advance for supporting and standing along with us in prayer during this crisis. Sincerely, God Bless you !
Dr. C.V.Vadavana, Founder & Chairman, Sathyam Ministries.

JESUS IS CLAYTON JENNINGS
He’s more than you could ever need He’s more than the eye could see I don’t deserve His love, but He’s always been there for me You see, Jesus met me when I was at my lowest And if you don’t know Jesus, know this: He’s the greatest example of generosity this world of greed has ever seen And when Jesus hit the scene, He changed the scenery And met diversity with serenity If you’re looking for peace, He offers plenty Jesus was, and Jesus will forever be King And when the Angels sing, they sing of the grace that was displayed for sinners like me I can’t explain Him, and I can’t describe Him Because if I could He wouldn’t be Jesus Because you can’t explain eternity and you can’t comprehend the galaxies But it was the loving hands of Jesus, who spun them into existence And created man, knowing He would go to the cross to pay our sentence There was a certicate of judgement with a period after the sentence And we were sentenced to death long before He said, “It is nished” He’s a father to the orphan, a shelter for the homeless A hiding place for the abused and an anchor for our storms He stormed the gates of hell and came out on top And the power of His gospel cannot be stopped Even when the world tries…and they try a lot He trade places with Barabbas and became a catalyst Of missions across the world covering every portion of the atlas If you’re in need of rest, I know of a mattress If you don’t know Jesus, your future is tragic But He’d gladly embrace tragedy so we could live in His presence of majesty His presence is presents And it’s His presence that presents preciousness to a world of peasants He’s far from pretentious, but still loves those who are He’s a light of the world that hung on the stars He brings the dead to life, but delivers life to the dead He took a crown of thorns on His head So we can put crowns at His feet And I can’t wait until the day I get to kiss His feet that were nailed to the cross for me, and for you, and for every other person around the world He loves the world and I love His word Because His word became esh And in His esh, He demonstrated the word to the world He’s an example to every boy and every girl

He’s a lover of black people; He’s a lover of white people He’s a lover of the un-churched and the assembly under the steeple He doesn’t see the believer’s failures; but still takes time to celebrate their faithfulness It’s His spirit that enables us And gives us boldness, even when the world labels us And if you wanna label me Please call me a “Jesus Freak” If that freaks you out, good Because it’s better to be good with God Than to ght being misunderstood By a world that could never understand So let it be understood that I don’t worship man I worship Jesus And although He doesn’t need us He still sees us, and pleads with us To run to the cross where He bled for us His heart bleeds for us; His heart grieves for us But still graciously grants us a pardon for our treason in a season where the world tries to explain away the work of the spirit with human reasoning And here’s the reason why they can’t: Because His spirit is like the wind, and the wind cannot be seen But loved is he who believes without seeing the unseen I’m telling you, Jesus is something He’s something more; He’s something great And if you wanna know Him, you don’t have to wait He stands at the narrow path with a key to the gate And all you have to do is reach out and embrace His grace I don’t care who is president, I have a King who is always present I don’t care who hosts musicals, celebrities; the voice of the Lord will always be the sweetest melody I don’t care who owns the riches of the globe; my Jesus has more wealth with more ruby on His robe I don’t care who’s the strongest or the fastest; nothing matches the creator of the universe and His immortal, innite status I don’t care about religious leaders who died and stay dead I worship the One who conquered death, and wears a crown on His head His name is Jesus, and I’m telling you He’s something He was faithful yesterday, He’s faithful today I can feel His presence whenever I pray And when the time comes for me to fade away I would remember the day I heard Him say, “My name is Jesus.”

Did Bengaluru Airport Avoid Festivals? No, No They Didn't A viral tweet claiming Bengaluru international airport or Kempegowda International Airpor t Limited (KIAL) celebrates only Christmas and not festivals like Diwali and Ram Navami, is misleading. In addition to celebrating Christmas, KIAL celebrates many festivals including Diwali, Dasara and even follows days such as Yoga Day. The Twitter handle called @noconversion on 28 July tweeted an article about KIAL's annual festival called the 'Season of Smiles'. The year-end 15-day festival includes installations of life size Christmas tree and Santa Claus in addition to other activities. The article was tweeted by the anti-Christian account with a message that read, “Why Public money is being used to promote Christianity? Bangalore Airport celebrated Christmas … but said no to Janmashtami ,Ravnavmi and Diwali …. India is not a Christian Country.”
The tweet received 537 retweets and more than 600 likes with many tagging Bangalore Airport for a comment.BOOM reached out to KIAL who quickly refuted the claim and replied saying, “Bangalore Airport has been delighting it's passengers through the year with multiple seasonal and cultural events which are a part of this city's cultural roots and has nothing to do with the faith of anyone or community.” In addition, the response said the airport celebrated other festivals like Dasara and Diwali and also organised special programs on important days. “We are the first step in to the state and country for a lot of our passengers and the last out of the state and country for some..we are always focused on showing the culture of the city which proudly calls the Bangalore airport as their own,” KIAL told BOOM.
Bengaluru Man, 102, Survives Stroke; Leaves Hospital In 3 Days Doctors at a private hospital in Bengaluru have used revolutionar y treatment on a 102-year-old man, Ramaswamy, who faced the prospect of paralysis after a stroke. Mr Ramaswamy was taken to hospital by his family when he suddenly felt weak in his left hand and leg one day. At the hospital in Whitefield, an MRI scan revealed that Mr Ramaswamy had suffered a stroke and the right side of his brain was not getting sufficient blood supply because of a block in a blood vessel. Doctors then decided to go for thrombolysis, which involves dissolving clots in blood vessels. “Thrombolysis is a very challenging treatment method in seniors, as with age our brain becomes fragile and strong medication like thrombolysis can lead to bleeding in the brain. In this case, the stroke survivor was 102 years and this was definitely a tough decision," said Dr Deepak N, associate consultant neurologist at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital. Mr Ramaswamy is the oldest person the doctors know, to have been saved from a life-threatening stroke with this treatment. He was discharged within three days."Stroke treatment has been revolutionised, however, awareness about the condition is still in its nascent stage. If treated within the golden hours which is 4.5 hours, patients can be saved from mortality or morbidity caused due to stroke," said Dr Deepak.Back at home, Mr Ramaswamy said, "Being paralysed at this age would have put tremendous stress on my family and I am grateful to the hospital for taking the chance and gifting me a life to cheer." According to the World Health Organization (WHO), stroke is one of the most common neurological conditions causing long-term disability and mortality. In India, it is the second most common cause of death. 21

INDIA NEWS Religious Extremist Sexually Assaults Pastor's Wife at Church Service in India; Victim and Husband Charged Pratibha Stephen was immersed in worship at the house church her husband pastors in Tamil Nadu state, India when a man suddenly burst through the back door, shouting angrily. The intruder interrupted an elderly man's singing and cymbal-playing by twisting his hands behind his back at the Jesus Power Ministries house church in Sathyamangalam, Erode District that Sunday morning, July 8, causing him to howl in pain. Stephen went over to stop the harassment. The extremist became uncontrollably angry and started beating her, Stephen told Morning Star News.“I reprimanded him that he must not touch me and should leave immediately,” she said. “He continued spewing abusive words, and within minutes, he touched me again, and he forcefully pulled my sari off of me. I resisted him with all my strength and shouted for help.” Her husband, Pastor Paul Stephen, was away leading a worship service in BhavaniSagar, about six miles away. The elderly church member and a few others tried to push Kumar off, but he held tightly to her sari, stripped it off and kicked her to the floor, Stephen said.Elsewhere in the state, churches in Madurai District came under attack in March. A pastor's wife was repeatedly kicked in the face and was disrobed by religious extremists who tried to snatch her Bible away. A recent poll conducted by Thomas Reuters Foundation ranked India as the worst of the top 10 most dangerous countries for women.
Christians in India observe Martyrdom Day Christians of different denominations across India remembered those killed for their faith with prayers on July 22. Christian groups, mostly Pentecostal and Protestant churches, observed Indian Christian Martyrdom Day praying for those killed mostly by religious fanatics. The occasion aims to pray for those killed and embolden Christians to live their faith, said Shibu Thomas, the founder of Persecution Relief, an ecumenical forum that initiated the event last year.Christian Martyrdom Day began last year out of concern in the increase in violence against Christians across the country.Thomas said his organization has recorded 508 incidents of attacks against Christians from January to June this year so far. His foundation recorded 732 such incidents
in 2017, double the incidents of violence that occurred against Christians a year prior. Besides being subjected to violence, Christians also face police probes over charges related to allegations of sedition, discrimination and insulting religions, Thomas said. There are 27 million Christians among India's population of 1.2 billion people. Some 20 million of those Christians live in either the southern states or northeastern states.
Christian college in India attacked by a mob; teachers, staff assaulted
MUMBAI, India - A Christian college in India was attacked by a mob, beating up staff and teachers.About 40 members of a religious-nationalist student organization, allegedly assaulted the proctorial board staff and teachers at St Andrew's College in Gorakhpur, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The college is over 100 years old, and affiliated with the Church of North India, which is part of the Anglican communion. “They (activists) were alleging corruption in the institute. Around 40 of them barged into the office and wanted to meet me. The staff told them that a delegation of only 5-6 people can be allowed to meet the principal. This infuriated them and they started assaulting members of the proctorial board. They even beat up non-teaching staff,” JK Lal, the principal of the college, told the National Herald. The principal also said the college administration has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is a native of Gorakhpur. The ABVP has denied the allegations and said they held a peaceful protest, despite CCTV footage of the event

Iranian Pastor YousefNadarkhani Beaten in Front of Family, Agents Tase Son Iranian security forces raided the home of Pastor YousefNadarkhani on, where they beat him in front of his family and tasered one of his son's, according to a human rights group. Nadarkhani, a convert from Islam to Christianity, was also told that his 10-year prison sentence will be at the notorious Evin Prison. Iran Human Rights Monitor reported that the attack was carried out on Sunday, when the pastor's home was raided and he was taken to the Branch 2 of the Revolutionary court of Rasht, northern Iran."The international community must press the government of Iran to uphold its constitutional and international obligation to ensure the full enjoyment of the right to freedom religion or belief for all of its citizens, regardless of their creed,"said CSW's Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas.
Chinese Authorities Bulldoze Church To Build Houses, Train Station
International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that on July 5, Yizhuang campus of Zion Church, the largest house church in Beijing, has been blockaded by a group of “thugs” employed by the local authorities. The group prevented church members from entering the third floor where the campus is located and hurled insults and threats at the Christians, calling their faith a cult. In a prayer request to fellow Christians shared via WeChat (a popular Chinese messaging app) on July 8, Yizhuang campus worshippers detailed the ongoing oppression from the government against their church. Six individuals guarded the entrance to the church and prevented church members from attempting to unlock the government-imposed padlocks. They also prevented the church administrator from entering the church to retrieve computers and church documents. Yizhuang campus recently prepaid the rent for another quarter, with its lease up for renewal in 2020, yet churchgoers were barred from worshipping in their own church.
Authorities in Algeria Seal Shut Another Church Building Chinese authorities bulldozed a registered church building on July 17 without warning to make way for construction of a new neighbourhood and train station. International Christian Concern (ICC) reported that more than 70 police officers and workers showed up to take down the Liangwang Catholic Church building in China's Shandong province. They lacked the proper documentation, but it didn't matter. Church officials GaoRongli, Zhang Siling and Li Xiangmei – who were inside the building -- had their phones confiscated and destroyed. It took only 15 minutes to demolish the building using bulldozers and pickaxes, according to ICC. Officials spared nothing, destroying the altars, benches and 22
Church leaders didn't get an explanation for why the seventh worship building to be closed in Algeria since November was sealed last week, but they suspect lack of registration was the pretext. It is virtually impossible to register a church in Algeria under current restrictions. Although three of the six churches previously closed were allowed to reopen last month, the shuttering on Wednesday (July 11) of the church building in the northeastern town of Riki was taken as a sign that harassment of Christian institutions that began in November is not over.

Pastor Andrew Brunson Released from Prison in Turkey, Under House Arrest
400-Year-Old Bible Discovered In Church's Cabinet
Officials at an Anglican church in New Zealand were shocked to discover they had been housing a 400-year-old Bible in a cabinet – and they still don't know how it got there. The congregation, St Peter's Church in Palmerston North, was founded in the early 1900s. The 1616 King James edition Bible was discovered in a cupboard in 2012 wrapped in a towel, and was pulled out again this month ahead of National Bible Day on July 15, according to the New Zealand website Stuff.co.nz.
Bidding Starts at $50K for Bible that Went to Moon
North Carolina pastor, Andrew Brunson, has been released from prison in Turkey, following his recent hearing. He is currently under house arrest in the country. Just last week, Brunson had a hearing for his October 2016 sentencing in Turkey. He was accused of having connections to a terrorist organization that attempted a coup against the Turkish government in July of 2016. Though Brunson's witness and defense strongly denied allegations, asserting he has no connection to these terrorists, the hearing ended with a continuation scheduled for this Fall. Following a speech from Brunson's daughter for his release and amid reports from U.S. officials and the Brunson family of the pastor's poor health, a Turkish court granted his release, on the condition that Brunson does not leave the country or his home. “The court reportedly came to the conclusion that Brunson could be effectively detained under house arrest,” the Christian Post writes.
Texas Mega church Sets Record for Blood Donation; Over 4,600 Lives Will Be Saved
For the collector who has almost everything, there's a chance to claim ownership of a Bible that literally was out of this world. A Los Angeles auction firm is taking bids on a microform, or photographically reduced, King James Bible that went to the moon on the 1971 Apollo 14 space flight. Similar in appearance to a piece of microfilm, the microform is certified as containing the entire biblical text. Its print is so small that one needs a microscope to read it. The tiny, space-traveling Bible was one of 11 that left Earth's atmosphere in the care of landing module commander Edgar Mitchell, who died in 2016 on the eve of the 45th anniversary of that lunar landing. He carried them in a container for personal items. The so-called lunar Bible measures 1.625 inches square. It is centered in a gold and enamel setting measuring 4 inches by 6 inches.
Members at Texas mega church Gateway Church gave a record-breaking donation of blood that will save more than 4,600 lives. The blood donation drive comes after Pastor Robert Morris suffered severe internal bleeding and almost died. “Someone giving blood is what saved my life,” Morris told the church, encouraging them to give blood. Some 1,500 people at Gateway Church's six campuses gave blood. "This consistency and over six weeks' time is remarkable," said Linda Goelzer, director of public relations at Carter Blood Care, according to Fox 4 News. "We have been able to help some other community blood centers when we're usually at the point of asking others." Goelzer told The Christian Post that of all church blood drives where Carter BloodCare has taken part, Gateway Church has the record for the longest blood drive and largest response. Firefighters were struggling to gain control of the wildfires, which were spreading through the coastal city of Mati about 25 miles east of Athens. Greek Interior Minister Panos Skourletis compared it to a “biblical disaster,” according to Sky News. One tourist who was on the shore told the BBC, “Thankfully the sea was there and we went into the sea, because the flames were chasing us all the way to the water. It burned our backs and we dived into the water.” In one tragic location, 26 adults and children died in a field about 100 feet from the beach. The combination of a dry winter and a warm summer sparked the wildfires.

British Magistrate, Fired for Christian Views on Same-Sex Adoption, Appeals Dismissal After losing his job for saying a child's “best interest” is to be raised by a mother and father, a Christian magistrate in London will appeal the government's decision to dismiss him. Richard Page, 71, is appealing the decision this w e e k . T h e Chris tian Legal Centre (CLC) represents him in the case. “We are absolutely delighted that Richard will continue to seek justice,” said Andrea Williams, chief Executive of the CLC. Page was suspended and then later fired from his job as a nonexecutive director at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust in March 2016. He said he was dismissed after he told the BBC in a 2015 television interview that he believed an adopted child should be placed in the care of a mother and father over that of a same-sex couple “as God and nature intended.”
Bible Readers Prefer Physical Over Digital Copy Americans' access to digital books may be growing, but they still enjoy reading a physical copy of the Bible. A new Barna survey shows that 89 percent of Bible users in the United States read a physical version – a percentage that has remained steady the past eight years. “Little has changed in the preference for a physical copy of the scriptures in the last eight years since tracking began,” the Barna report said. The results of a new survey from Lifeway Research may come as a surprise to pastors and worship leaders. The study found that most churchgoers will put up with a change in music style or a different preacher, but they will choose to leave a church if the foundational beliefs are tampered with. These findings can serve as a wake-up call, says the American Pastors Network's (APN, www. americanpastorsnetwork.net), to pastors who may be trying to reach people through music, programs or style rather than the substance of the Gospel. According to the survey, more than half of respondents (54 percent) said they would strongly consider leaving if the church's core beliefs or doctrine changed.
New Netflix Series Depicts Jesus Returning to Earth as 12-Year-Old Boy Netflix will be releasing a series about Jesus returning to Earth as a modern day 12-year-old in an adaption called American Jesus. The show is based on Mark Millar's comic book, also called American Jesus. “[It] follows a 12-year-old boy who suddenly discovers he's returned as Jesus Christ. He can turn water into wine, make the crippled walk, and, perhaps, even raise the dead,” says the show's description. “How will he deal with the destiny to lead the world in a conflict thousands of years in the making?” Millar, who is a Catholic, said his comic book, American Jesus, is “reverential.”
