about me.
Ciaoo!, I’m Isabel, architect and interior designer from Guatemala. In december I graduated from my master in interior and living design from Milan, Italy. I’m highly motivated, curious and creative with a fresh mind all the time. As we know, architects are always working under stressful conditions so I’m in the game! I’m passionate about interiors, mostly what I love is how you can transform a space according to your needs. Love lighting design and how you change the space with different types of lighting, as a private and public space. I like to think of the space as an experience to discover the senses of the user, in order to find its size an personal expression. As an architect I’m good at developing concepts to get to the first sketches and ideas of the project, developing the ideas and visualizing the proyect. In particular some people say is bad but for me is a good characteristic, is that I cannot deliver a project if there are some details incomplete, so I like to deliver a project really detail and nice. My experience is based in residences, retail, offices, interior design, furniture design and lighting design. Love to travel to get new inspirations and discover new places. Any day is good to learn something new!

GREEN VIEW APARTMENT Jacome Fam. / Panama, Panama mia studio / 2017
This apartment is located in Panama City in Santa Maria Green View Residences. The challenge was to do all the interiors and supervising in just one month. The palette of colors used was combining grey in all the spaces, and getting different shades with that to create contrast. One of the most important parts was the lighting design, we used some iconic lamps of Foscarini, and then indirect light to get another atmosphere in the space. My attributes were designing false ceiling, choosing furniture, lighting design, wall coverings, curtains, and supervising all the process.

LIGHTING DESIGN OF A RESTAUR ANT don porfirio / Guatemala, Guatemala
collaboration with Dielum and Iluminarq / 2015
The project is a Mexican restaurant located in Fontabella, the goal was to make the lighting design, lighting study and the specification of the luminaries. The concept of the project was to abstract the typical mexican restaurant using suspended bulbs in different heights in the pergola and to creating a wave in order that it simulates the movement. We wanted to play with bulbs in the restaurant, so we fabricated also lighting with pipes to directionate the hall to the bathroom, and in the bar we made the luminaries also with pipe but just focusing as spots. For the table space we design the prototype for the lamp and an was made by artesans of Guatemala, and for the bulbs we are creating our own. Otherwise, for the ledstrip we are using Leds-c4.
