I am Isabella Gaviria Palacio, an architect in training with an innate passion for design and creativity. My restless spirit drives me to constantly seek new challenges and learning opportunities, both inside and outside of academia.
In my free time, I love to explore my artistic side through painting, writing and dancing, or immersing myself in the pages of a good book. Traveling is another of my great passions; discovering new cultures, connecting with people from different backgrounds and enriching my perspective of the world are experiences that I treasure and that fuel my creativity.
I consider myself a disciplined, proactive and committed person, willing to give my best in every project I undertake. I firmly believe in the transformative power of architecture and its ability to improve the lives of people and society as a whole. It is this conviction that motivates me to keep growing and learning every day.
WHAT IS ARCHITECTURE FOR ME?
After nine semesters I can say that architecture for me is much more than plans and structures, it is where imagination and creativity find form, it is a way of expression, a reflection of our culture, a silent language that tells stories, it is a headache but also the thing I am most passionate about, something with which I am constantly interacting and from which I learn more every day.
Architecture for me, is that discipline that unites the human being with space, it is a refuge, the place where you feel safe. It is a discipline that invites us to innovate, while allowing us to learn from tradition and history.
In the end I believe that architecture for me became something more than a box of walls or an isolated building; they are spaces in which lives are developed, that have an impact on communities, that excite, that impact, that surprise and that develop in people a myriad of emotions, that is why from the smallest house to the tallest building are works of art that create experiences and little by little the nuances of our reality.

REINTERPRETANDO EL PASAJE
LOCATION: Calazans neighborhood, Medellin, Colombia.
AVENIDA 80, MEDELLIN.
PROJECT SEEK TO ACHIEVE?
The concept of the building is to create an urban passage that accommodates the activities of the area and integrates into its social fabric.
The building acts as a connecting node, responding to its context by distributing the flow of people coming from the subway station and the park.
The passage is conceived not only as a place of transit but also as a space for meeting and coexistence, art exhibitions, community workshops and cultural events, thus becoming a center of activity for the neighborhood.
PASAJES EN DONDE EL PEATÓN PREDOMINA
The concept of passage or funnel is considered because it seeks to generate a continuous architecture where those who pass by can find an open and permeable building with different activities.
Movement becomes a design premise, and the idea is to adapt to the changing needs of the neighborhood in order to generate a building that encourages encounters.. WHAT DOES THE

The project seeks to develop a contemporary urban infrastructure and equipment project for collective wellbeing, with emphasis on the strategic definition of programs, the construction of urban spaces and the technical definition of the building, particularly the structural systems.
The project addresses the following themes: Quality of life: health/education/culture,
The project also proposes the projection of new types of mixed-use spaces, with a diversity of users, taking advantage of its strategic location.

PROGRAM:
An architectural program has been developed that contemplates spaces oriented to the physical and mental well-being of the community, looking for an opportunity in sports and culture, which is why each space is designed to generate an experience, from the swimming pools located in the viewpoints, the inclined auditorium and the courts overlooking the city.

ASSIGNMENT: public building
(Sports and cultural equipment)
SOFTWARES: Lumion, revit, photoshop.
LOCATION: Calazans neighborhood, Medellin, Colombia.
INCORPORATE THE PARK INTO THE PROJECT:
It is intended that the project does not stop at the lot barriers, but that the public space can be intervened, thus generating a project on an urban scale, as it seeks to generate a connection and integrate the ecosystems found in the park with the building, allowing people to benefit from the open spaces.
The objective is to create active spaces, like an open-air theater, where we take the existing park as a starting point and give it a different use.
We propose a slope to play with the base plane and slightly raise the park with respect to the street. In this way, the park begins to be integrated into the project and a flexible space is generated, since it can function as a theater at night, bazaar during the day, etc. All of this is connected to the main passage of the building, which is enhanced by a triple-height roof.

MERGING THE LANDSCAPE WITH THE ARCHITECTURE :
WHAT DOES THE PROJECT SEEK TO ACHIEVE?
The concept consists of a fusion of the terrain with the landscape and architectural design, this through different terraces and gradients of permeability.
It is a game with the terrain, the purpose is not to identify what is platforms and what is natural terrain.
Being a large cultural, sports and administrative complex, an interconnection of the buildings is proposed through squares, the public space enters the buildings and it is almost like a game of walls that you do not know what is covered, or what is closed.

ASSIGNMENT: urban development
(Proposal for a developing block)
SOFTWARES: Autocad, procreate, photoshop.
LOCATION: Park Jalodvorska Louka, Nove Dvory, Prague, Czech Republic
ASSIGNMENT:
Nove Dvory is located in Prague 12, is an area that is booming and developing, this because the new metro line is planned to pass through there, which is why it seeks the creation of new cultural centers, sports facilities, group housing, etc..
In the assigned lot is the current Jalodvarska Park, this is why the proposal seeks to preserve most of the park and not be invasive with this, no tall buildings are proposed in order to preserve the scale.
CONCEPTUAL PLAN
COURSE: Workshop, semester 7
ASSIGNMENT: urban development
(Proposal for a developing block)
SOFTWARES: Autocad, procreate, photoshop.
LOCATION: Park Jalodvorska Louka, Nove Dvory, Prague, Czech Republic
A staggered project is proposed that imitates the slope of the terrain, in order to reduce the scale as it approaches the park and increase it on the road, thus generating a project that communicates with its surroundings and can have a friendly scale with whoever enters.
It is a playful proposal that mixes the orthogonal lines of the buildings with the organic of the terrain, the idea is to create a large complex instead of separate buildings, a fluid plan, the building does not stop at the boundary and all activities can be mixed between them.
It seeks to imitate the feeling of being in a park: no barriers where you can read all over the site, people can take ownership of the space and the walls can have different uses; films can be projected, art exhibitions can be created, climbing walls, etc.
People can walk through the buildings, or sit on the stairs, more than a building with a park at the back, the idea is to create a whole block where people can connect with the architecture and give it their own use.

Crecimiento a partir de una centralidad

WHAT DOES THE PROJECT SEEK TO ACHIEVE?
REINTERPRETING THE VOID
From the concept of centrality the project is born; it is evident how in San Roque the park is that central point in which not only social dynamics are developed, but also dictates an order for the spatial organization, on the other hand this emptiness is evident on a micro scale in the different patios of the San Rocanas houses, the patio understood as that place of connection with the outside, that meeting place par excellence that establishes a relationship between the natural and the built.

The concept of patios with life is born, since life is understood as all those dynamics to which the patio gives rise, all those activities that at macro scale compose San Roque and give it identity, these spaces will be places where the inhabitants can appropriate them showing their undertakings, they will be places designed to enhance and promote local trade, it is intended to achieve an architecture that communicates and establishes relationships, the patios will be that link that allows strengthening relationships with the program and will give rise to different dynamics that can occur there.

Being located in the center of the city, the building must respond to the dynamics of the place, adapt to the scale, reduce the effect of the heat present in the center and, at the same time, generate an architecture that responds to the needs of its inhabitants, however different they may be. It is necessary to create environments and atmospheres that reinforce the relationships between its users and the place itself. For this reason, a hybrid building is proposed with its first level open to the public.
