graphic artist, and for a long time he has dreamt of illustrating stories that stimulate his imagination. One day he challenged his friend Thomas Bretonneau to write a pirate story. Why pirates? “Because I like them! I like Stevenson, I like islands, I like treasures”, declares Perceval.
Picture books that make us burst out laughing right from the first page are rare. That’s what this book does. An entire village of pirates makes fun of Richard. Why? “He doesn’t have a parrot! He doesn’t have a parrot!” He’s the only one in this case, and he has a good reason for it… With irreverence and multiple references, the three stories in this book poke fun at pirates, their world, their equipment, and their obsessions, only to make us like them all the more. We all have some Blackbeard and Long John Silver in us!

Hardcover, 36 pages, 205 x 260 mm, €12,20
A Dad for Titou? Titou lives alone with his mom Brigitte, and he is happy that way. But Brigitte decides that Titou needs a father and she heads out in search of one. A little haphazardly, it must be said… She wonders if a maggot, a horse, or a stingy old owl could suit the purpose… No! Then one day, Brigitte falls for a bird, like her. He is big, he is handsome, and he smells a lot like hot corn. No question about it: he’s the one! Will Titou like him?
Luciana Monaji is a translator and lives in Colombia with her family. She moved to France at age six, fleeing the Argentine dictatorship. The sublimated memory of this translatlantic journey with her mother and her sister, in search of a better future, inspired the story of Titou.

The Big Beast Is it better in life to be very big, or very small? To be ferocious, or kind? To roar and growl like a brute, or let out soft little cries? It’s all relative. It depends. What is certain is that when an enormous ball of fire, a meteorite, fell from the sky onto Earth, the immense dinosaurs were unable to hide. They caught fire and all disappeared, while the little creatures took refuge in the holes and crevices. So, is it better to be big or small? Place your bets!

Monsieur Gosselin decided to bring the whole family to the Agricultural Fair in Paris. While they were away, a neighbor would take care of their farm animals – even little Manon’s pigeons! Once arrived, the Gosselins encounter noise and cars everywhere. It’s quite a contrast with life on the farm. They quickly hope to find a bit of nature – and go to the Luxembourg gardens. A surprise awaits the children there: an old lady who is a pigeon charmer. She is very kind and tells Manon a good joke, and the two wind up sharing a serious country-city exchange.
