One year of encounters with Yves Camdeborde’s favorite suppliers, put into drawings by Jacques Ferrandez. We discover truffle hunters, pike fishers, and winemakers from all four corners of France, and they all share a taste for eating and producing good food.
What if the space exploration began one century earlier? A stunning universe that joins Jules Verne’s and Hayao Miyazaki’s styles, with the theme of the conquest of space.
Yves Camdeborde is a French chef and one of the creators of bistrot cuisine. After spending time in the kitchens of the starred restaurants, he now runs his own bistrot and is a jury member on the TV show Masterchef. Jacques Ferrandez has shed light on the Mediterranean area many times, thanks to his beautiful watercolor illustrations. He successfully adapted two novels by Albert Camus, The Guest and The Stranger.
At the end of the 19th century, the scientific community believed that space was made of ether, a substance which, if they succeeded in using it as energy, allowed them to explore the skies. In 1868, Marie Dulac, a scientist who devoted her life to researching ether, went up in a hot air balloon for what had to be a successful flight: she would effectively reach ether. But no one could attest to this, as she never returned. Only her husband, also a professor, and her son Séraphin, would keep her research and knowledge.

6 BIO
Olivier Tallec has signed numerous drawings for the press and illustrated over fifty books for children. For several years now, he has devoted his time to authoring books.
One year later, a mysterious letter mailed from Bavaria alludes to Séraphin’s mother’s flight notebook and invites them to the castle of the king of Bavaria. The king, either
a madman or a visionary, will finance the father’s research to go in search of ether. At the same time, Bismark, the prince of neighboring Prussia, will do all he can to discredit the king of Bavaria and place the kingdom under his tutelage. In this volume, Séraphin, his father, and their allies will build an Ethership and begin to sense that Bismark has plans. In the second volume, they will take off for the Moon.

This indispensable republication of ZEP’s first personal album, his autobiographical chronicles, first appeared with Seuil in 2006. The slices of the author’s life are at once poetic and funny, sketched with much self-derision, from his first steps to his first guitar, as well as schoolmates, first loves, and eventually the search for the greatest superpower.
A TALE OF MALES
5
SEPTEMBER 2013 - 64 PAGES – 240 X 320 MM - €18
A completely new vein in ZEP’s work! Eighteen years later after splitting up, all four former members of rock band Tricky Fingers are reunited together for one weekend in an English manor. Tongues and memories come undone, and in spite of the single malt, the memories have a strange flavor. Awakening the past is always risky.
ZEP has been drawing and telling stories since the age of 14. He has already made generations of school children laugh with 20 years of his Adventures of Titeuf, and he received the grand prix d’Angoulême at the age of 37. This busy man has since conquered adult readers with his Happy Books series and A Tale of Males.
The short horror story written by French classic writer Guy de Maupassant, now impressively adapted into a graphic novel by Guillaume Sorel. The narrator is leading a tranquil life in his house along the banks of the Seine when strange phenomena start to occur. Little by little, he becomes convinced that a supernatural, immaterial being is living in his house and eating his food.
Even worse, this being, which he has named the Horla, has a power over him that is growing. Whether it be the Horla or the man, one of the two must perish.

Guillaume Sorel’s literary tastes lie mainly in European “fantastique” literature from the 19th and 20th centuries. His work includes, among others, the adaptation of Laurent Seksik’s novel The Last Days of Stephan Zweig.

Cati Baur has had many different jobs: bookseller, “front desk girl,” publishing assistant, and used to keep a drawing blog. She now publishes comic books. Malika Ferdjoukh has written numerous young adult novels. She is passionate about cinema, especially musical comedies from the first half of the 20th century, and this inspired her to create the characters in Four Sisters.
“My dad is a weatherman,” “My dad is a bullfighter,” and then, “My dad is Karl Lagerfeld.” Each one outdoes the last that afternoon in the frog pond, until one of them dares to say, “Well, my dad is a heron!” and all the frogs run away as fast as their legs can jump.
Jul draws for the press and he illustrated the humoristic encyclopedia of philosophers, La planète des sages (140.000 copies sold). His successful series, Silex and the City, with more than 300.000 copies sold became an animated TV show.
THE DIARY OF A KILLER CAT
ANNE FINE’S SERIES ADAPTED INTO COMIC BOOK BY VÉRONIQUE DEISS

TO BE PUBLISHED IN OCTOBER 2014

The Four Sisters are in reality five: Enid, Hortense, Bettina, Geneviève, and Charlie Verdelaine, aged nine to twenty-three. Their parents died in a car accident two years before the start of this story. The first volume is dedicated to Enid, the youngest, who has a hard time finding her place in the Villa Hervé,
where the daily life is always an adventure. The second volume is about Hortense: her timid nature and her diary. We follow other sisters, too. Bettina is in love. Geneviève continues to hide her secret passion for Thai boxing classes, and Charlie keeps fiddling with the broken boiler.
On Monday, I killed a bird. It’s true. Ellie, my owner, cried so hard as she held me against her that I thought I would drown. So tell me, what am I supposed to do when a little featherball lands in my paws? I’m a cat, aren’t I? Wednesday, I brought a dead mouse into the
house. I didn’t even kill it, but Ellie still cried. And Thursday, there was this regrettable story of the rabbit...
We appreciated Véronique Deiss’ subtly discrepant graphic interpretations of Anne Fine’s early readers novels. This time Deiss is going a step further, adapting the series into a hilarious comic book.
