Before We Start Personalising subjects:
Some subjects remain COMPULSORY.
Compulsory Subjects Maths English plus English Lit (Teacher recommendation) Global Perspectives PE (core subject - no exam) PHSE (core subject - no exam)
Option Choices Subjects can now be personalised, HOWEVER, before you make your choices some things to think about
What to Do & What Not to Do Do ● Choose subjects that you enjoy ● Choose subjects that you are good at ● If you have a chosen career in mind find out what subjects are needed ● Ask your teachers for advice ● Discuss the options with your parents

Choose a subject because a friend is taking it Reject a subject because “it’s for boys” or “its for girls” Choose or reject a subject because you like or dislike the teacher Choose a subject only because you think that it’s going to be easy Choose a new subject without finding out more about it Leave choices until the last minute
