21TH CENTURY PARK

ABSTRACT

This project redefines the definition of the 21st century public park. The vision is to offer not only a sustainable landscape design but also thousand feelings and experiences within it. The landscape changes and adapts in several points such that the visitors are on a journey along the coast. The concept studies how spaces are framed, why some of them feel more secure than others and how we can incoporate those emotions in our design (Appelton, 1975). Throughout this adventure, the theory focused on four main aspects : prospect, refuge, mystery and risk that will be explored.

4

• Balanced which contribute to the neutralisation of the ecological footprint in the community • Adaptable which can be modified to meet the challenges of Climate Change • Connected and linked with the surrounding • User-friendly which encourage gathering, communication, sharing and meet the human psychological needs • Inclusive, facilitating social integration and design for all
