Now we are ready to make patterns/shapes in each sheet. To make a tunnel book effective, the shortest trip will have the largest pattern cut.

5.

Cut any desired pattern shape along each of the valley folds on the shortest sheet (which is in front of you), you may chose to use the same shape/ different shapes on each fold.

6. In the next sheet, cut a pattern or a shape which is smaller than the first sheet.

7. Take the third sheet and cut a pattern

smaller than the previous one. The last sheet is the backdrop so it is left as it is.

9.

Now place the sheets back in the same order, with the shortest in the front and the longest at the back., as shown in the next figure. 10. Now turn the stack over so that the longest sheet is facing you.

11.

On all the peak folds, locate the center and then mark half a centimeter on each side of the center. Make holes at the marked points with an awl..

13.

Holding all the sheets together at the peak folds, stitch the sheets, bringing the needle from the back o the front, and then finish it by knotting it.

14. 15. Insert a ribbon or a thick thread between the first and the second sheets on the center of both the edges, as shown. 16. Once dry, bring the two edges together from the outside so that you can tie the book, and your star tunnel book is ready!
