Poems by Sandy have been published in publications such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Harpers, The New York Times, The Paris Review and The Norton Anthology of World Poetry. He has received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Academy of American Poets, and fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation, NEA, and Fulbright Programs. Following the reading, there will be a book signing after which all attendees are invited to the Mt. Anthony Country Club for further discussion and refreshments from the cash bar. Watch for information on the upcoming presenters. The Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main Street (Route 9), Bennington, in The Shires of Vermont. The museum is just a short ride from Manchester, Williamstown, and eastern New York. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the museum is closed on Wednesdays. On Thursday, June 11 at 7 p.m., Stephen Sandy, award winning poet and author of many books of poetry, will read from and discuss some of his recent works during ‘Books for Bennington’ held in the Ada Paresky Education Center at the Bennington Museum. “Books for Bennington”, a series of talks by regional authors, is co-sponsored by the Bennington Cultural and Arts Council, and Bennington Museum. This event is free and open to the public. Sandy will read from his recent books, “Weathers Permitting”, “Netsuke Days” and “The Thread: New and Selected Poems”. A musical setting of Sandy’s “The Second Law” by American composer Daron Hagen will be played, and two poems from a CD
