Guv endorses major upgrading projects for Siquijor land, sea and air transport SIQUIJOR (PIA)— Siquijor Provincial Governor Zaldy Villa recently endorsed four major upgrading projects to fast track the development of land, sea and air transport in the province. This was also affirmed in the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) report during the Regional Development Council (RDC) meeting in Siquijor recently. In its report, bidding procedure for the P10.6 million Siquijor airport development has been initiated to include concreting of its apron and taxiway. The project is funded by the National Government under the 2014 General Appropriations Act (GAA). It is expected to finish three months from the start of the project construction, the DOTC report said. The Passenger Terminal Building is another project also scheduled for construction in Siquijor port and up for completion by the fourth quarter of next year, the report said.

The port’s rock causeway is also due for widening in the second quarter of 2015 until the first quarter of 2016. Also included in the list of projects for allocation is the Larena port for the construction of its backup area, covered storage area and covered walkway, paving of access roads, and the demolition of old

said the first set of awardees for the Medalya ng Kagalingan or PNP merit of medal were Police Inspectors Reynaldo E. Valmoria, Marve D. Bolay-og and Police Officer 1 Calvin King Enjambre. Another award known as the Madelya ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal) were given to the Maria Police Station personnel SPO1 Reygie Kilat, PO3 Arnel Porol, and PO1 Wilmarc Hinayan. Under general order 758, the award was bestowed out of their efforts and active participation in the campaign against proliferation of drugs in the municipality. The same awards under general order 759 were given to the personnel of Larena police station and the provincial intelligence branch. They are PSInsp. Perferio Gabuya Jr., PO2 Rene Gold Gumahad and PO1 Pedrito Vios Jr. PO3 Richard Laranjo and PO2 Ariel Lester Am-is were given the same PNP commendation for having exhibited perseverance and dedication to duty that led to the arrest of the no.1 most wanted persons of Siquijor.
