From the President’s Desk Holy Mackerel! April is here! Spring has sprung! Maybe it’s just me but each month just seems to fly by faster and faster. If you read my monthly column and/or listen to my comments each week at the Tuesday Coffee Social, you are probably aware of one of my favorite expressions…..”Patience is a virtue”. I just want you to know I try hard to practice what I preach. As I write this column, Nancy and I are enjoying our newly remodeled master bedroom and master bath….. SIX MONTHS after Hurricane Irma sent a tree branch through our roof directly in to our bedroom. Hallelujah! The wheels of progress often grind slowly, but we are proof things do eventually get done. Of course as usual, the past 30-40 days have been super busy with entertainment, club meetings

and banquets, and several memorable performances. Congratulations are in order to Jacqueline Keen and the members of the Del Tura Repertory Company for yet another outstanding play. “Baggage” was a tremendous success! It’s tough to put together one excellent performance, but Jackie and her group had FOUR great nights. We are indeed fortunate to enjoy the hard work and dedication of Jackie and those who assist her. Year after year, she just keeps giving us wonderful, entertaining shows. I would also be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to recognize our wonderful “Choralaires”. Del Tura was treated to two terrific performances by this talented and dedicated group of singers. I especially want to thank Larry Walimire for his assistance and direction with the program. The

chorus had a considerably shorter rehearsal schedule this spring than in past years, and Larry really helped us put it all together. My thanks also to Jim Stenzel for his excellent guitar accompaniment on several numbers. In the latter part of February we held our annual meeting and welcomed new board members Cindy Baron and Ray David. Additionally, Don Dowell was reelected for another term. Please check the back of this issue for the names of our officers for the coming year and updated contact information. On a bit more serious note, I want to gently remind you of your responsibility if you are a pet owner. In recent weeks, I’ve been made aware of several issues regarding pets here in our development. First and foremost, PLEASE make sure you know

where your pets are at ALL times. Our folks at “Save our Strays” recently had an issue with a cat that was presumed to be lost, after it was found wandering unattended for several days by the neighbors in the area. After stepping in to help the kitty, they found that it did indeed have an owner, and that resulted in some undeserved and unnecessary criticism toward the folks in that wonderful organization. We are so lucky to have their dedication and commitment toward controlling the cat population in Del Tura. I’m also receiving calls regarding dogs that have been found off leash, as well as owners not picking up after them. I know the vast majority of our pet lovers are very responsible, so as I stated…..please consider this a gentle reminder to respect your neighbor’s property and watch

over your pet at all times. We now have a wonderful new dog park! I hope you will all take advantage of it. Finally, I want to offer my congratulations to Betty Scheetz and Al and Wendy Wells, our “Person” and “Couple of the Year”. I would need several pages to provide a list of all the wonderful things these three folks do for our community and the people who reside here. Suffice to say, we are incredibly fortunate to enjoy their hard work and dedication on our behalf. Great events, activities and facilities, and wonderful dedicated people! Is it any wonder I continue to view my time here as…. just another day in paradise! Dave Adams HOA President

MANY SATISFIED CUSTOMERS IN DEL TURA

FISH was delighted to honor our most senior residents and we look forward to our next luncheon to do it again. On Friday, March 2nd active FISH members were invited to a luncheon held at Broadway Palm Theatre for Lee County for people in the county who have worked for RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in the past year. About two dozen Del Tura FISH volunteers attended. We learned that our services are worth $23.07 for each hour we volunteer. In Lee County 55,172 hours at fourteen locations where volunteers did various jobs. Lee County turns these hours into the state and in return the state gives Lee County grants to help the county to assist the poor people with homes, food, medicine and sometimes even jobs. Four of the attendees from Del Tura received pins honoring those who have worked four hundred hours or more. They are Rich Symes, Ruth Anten, Betty Scheetz and Ginnie Benjamins. Even more impressive was a pin was given to Marge Lord for twenty years of tireless service. Congratulations to all five! Thank you for your service. Happy spring everyone!

What an exciting, happy, successful day FISH had on February 27th. We entertained forty, yes forty residents of Del Tura at an Over 90’s luncheon held at Heron’s Glen restaurant. Forty outgoing men and women who had reached ninety by this year were invited. FISH wanted to celebrate them and we did. Each person brought along a person of their choosing to enjoy the luncheon. At the entrance there was Rich Symes, Jim Hinrichs, Richard Keen and Stew Williams to assist our guests as they exited their cars. Gerry Benjamins took pictures of each of our special guests as they made their way into the dining hall. (More on these pictures later.) I tried to greet each person after his or her picture was taken. Then Sue Symes, Carol Dubel, Sherry Plisch, Denise Rose, Jackie Hinrichs, Esther Williams, Susan Bell, Susan Baron, Terri Miller, Pat Casillo, and Del Tura’s own Person of the Year, Betty Scheetz escorted everyone to their seats. Dave Adams graciously played the piano as the guests arrived. We started off the luncheon when I introduced each FISH member and our honored guests. Our guests were Terri Fennimore, Zella Hoyt, Rae Savitt, Helene Stell, Irene West, Doris Wilkins, Margaret Lloyd, Mary Ann Kropp, Christina Fez-Barringten, Roberta Bunker, Nora Chandler, Audrey Martin, Joan Whaley, Mary Ferrara, Ray Rowe, Anna Kachel, Helen Schmitz, Peg Giavanti, Bernie McHugh, Flo Hammond, Alice Kozik, Jeanne Racine,

Gerry Kurvers, Anna Gessner, Lee Arthur, Isabel Passinger, Lou Rotolo, Volga Hoglund, Ann Ekas, Don Mummert, Elinor Thompson, Audrey Person, Shirley Matlin, John Bilancio, Eva Fasola, Fred Hall and Norrine McLaughlin. When I introduced the people sitting at Denise Rose’s table it sounded as though I was saying that Richard and Jacqueline Keen were over ninety. Believe me they are not! I apologize for not making it clearer. At our luncheon there were three ladies who had turned one hundred years of age. They were Anna Kachel, Anna Gessner and Irene West. I am not sure what I was expecting of someone who was one hundred, but all three of these ladies surprised me. Irene still bowls! Sue Symes told an age appropriate joke and also read a poem about turning ninety that she had read to her mom when she reached that age. (Which we will share in the May Tower). Rich Symes offered grace before our meal was served. The place cards were colored so the wait staff would know by looking at them which choice each person had made for their lunch. The wait staff was terrific. We had fourteen tables and a total of 99 people for lunch. When lunch was over I asked each host and hostess to retrieve the gift bags we had waiting for our guests. (Remember I have told you that information about the pictures would come later.) Gerry had printed each person’s picture and placed it in a frame. Each senior person received a gift bag and their picture. In the bag was a trivet marking the luncheon.

Reflections I have been thinking of how our family celebrations of Easter have changed over the years. We realize that things change; years go by, our children grow, yet we find ourselves yearning for those special times of long ago. It’s those times that remind us of how blessed we all are. We can’t go back and relive the Easters of the past but we can certainly revisit the memories that we hold so dear in our hearts. Let me share some of these special memories with you. Perhaps they will trigger a memory from your past and bring a smile to your day. As a child, preparing for Easter never started the night before in our house. It was at least a month before. The first priority was of course spring cleaning. Not “just a lick and a promise” as my Mother use to say, but a thorough cleaning from the ceilings to the floors. Oh, did we love that!! Sorry, just a bit of sarcasm! Forgive me please but what child would ever list chores as one of their favorites? Well, somehow we got through it and when I really stop and think about it there were many fun moments amongst the drudgery of housecleaning. One of those fun chores was when we would shine the kitchen floor after Dad waxed it. My brothers and I would put on an old pair of white socks and pretend that we were figure skaters. I can honestly say we were not the most graceful but did that floor shine!

Another fun chore I definitely should add to my small list of favorites would be the day that we would have to help each other turn our mattresses over (I wasn’t kidding about thorough). Of course our bedrooms were upstairs and the flight of stairs leading to the bedrooms was a sledder’s dream. I think you know where I’m going with this! (Did I mention that Mom and Dad worked and left my brothers and me with chores that didn’t get done on the weekend?) Luckily, we didn’t get caught or hurt and until today I think it’s one of my kid brother’s favorite childhood memories. Once all the major cleaning was done it was now time to go shopping. After all, everyone had to have the proper attire to

wear for Easter Sunday. Oh yes! You had to be outfitted from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet! Oh God! Ladies, do you remember the hats that we had to wear? A few that I recall were hats with feathers and nets called birdcages. In those days ladies were not allowed in church without something on their head. I remember one Sunday morning wearing my Mom’s handkerchief because I accidentally forgot my scarf. In those days, most ladies

would always carry a hanky in their purse. It was a very special hanky because it was beautifully crocheted around its edges by my grandmother. I still carry this treasure in my Sunday purse. It’s funny how as children we complained so much about the things our parents expected of us and yet many of these expectations we practiced with our children. They moaned and groaned as we did. “Oh Mom, we don’t need to dress up for church!” “Gee, do we have to clean now?” “Bobby’s Mom doesn’t make him do chores!” Yet when they speak of those spring cleaning days and all the other preparations for Easter they reminisce with a gleam in their eyes. Still wondering what secrets they’re hiding from us? Hmm…I do know they liked shining those floors! I must confess they were a little more graceful than their Mom. There’s one Easter tradition that is still my most favorite until today. Our grandchildren and adult children still do it every Saturday evening before Easter. Even though we are 1,500 miles apart, on that evening, we all continue the tradition by coloring our Easter eggs. Coloring those eggs meant more than just individual creativity; it was food for our souls. It was a time to laugh and share, a time to remember loved ones who were still with us and honor the ones who are not. Sure we cry a tear or two, but for the most part they are happy tears. Happy Passover! Happy Easter!

mom and dad took me to a place they called “the doggy park “. My God, I was in heaven. There were dogs standing at the gate to welcome me. There was Shadow, Mookie, Gordon, Phoebe, Kiko and Buddy. They were all there with their humans. I could run and play. I could chase the ball. I could wrestle with Mookie. The more I went, the more friends I met, like Commander, Murphy, Blue, Zen, Katy, Taz, Bokeelia, Mattie, Max, Harley and my very special puppy friend Mazy. (Hope I didn’t forget anyone, because my memory slips a little sometimes.) Playing there is so much fun that sometimes I let my guard down and let humans touch me. There’s a human named Jeannette, who I go right up to because she always has toys in her pack, and Jay, who used to sneak touching me, but now I actually let him. The “Doggy Park” has taught me that humans who have dogs aren’t scary. In fact I’m starting to like having my head and body scratched by them. I still have a hard time with people outside the park, but my mom and dad say the doggy park is making me more confident. I am now starting to trust the nice humans there. In fact I love the dogs and humans so much my dad can’t get me to leave. I can get away with making him chase me for the longest time. Please humans, if you have dogs that live with you, bring them to the doggy park because all my friends and I are waiting to play with them. Besides it will help me beat my fears. My name is Rico. My three brothers and I were born on the streets of Puerto Rico. We lived among all the hundreds of wild dogs on Dead Dog Beach. When my mom was hit and killed by a car, my brothers and I had to do whatever we could to survive. When we went near people’s houses looking for food, humans chased us away, often throwing rocks or running after us with sticks. We learned quickly that humans meant danger and now I am deathly afraid of them. When I was four months old, a nice lady sent me, my brothers, and several other dogs to the Naples Humane Society. I was sitting on a pillow in one of their cages, my brothers protecting me, when a man and lady visiting the rescue center noticed us. My brothers ran to greet them, hoping

to be adopted, but I sat shaking on the pillow, afraid to go anywhere near them. When I heard the man say, we want that one, I couldn’t believe it. He was pointing at ME! They wanted me! I was led into a little room where the lady held me, but I was scared to death and shook uncontrollably. Yet the next thing you know, I was in a car with these people. When we finally stopped driving, the lady pointed and said, “This is your new home.” Still very much afraid, I went inside and walked around. Was it really my home? It took me three days before I felt comfortable enough to stop shaking and untuck my tail from between my legs. And then they touched me!!!! A few days later, they tried to take me for a walk, but my heart almost stopped. Humans were everywhere! I turned and pulled my dad right back to the house, shaking like crazy. Then my

What Should You Do With Your Tax Refund? You may not get much of a thrill from filing your taxes, but the process becomes much more enjoyable if you’re expecting a refund. So, if one is headed your way, what should you do with the money? The answer depends somewhat on the size of the refund. For the 2017 tax year, the average refund was about $2,760 – not a fortune, but big enough to make an impact in your life. Suppose, for example, that you invested this amount in a tax-deferred vehicle, such as a traditional IRA, and then did not add another penny to it for 30 years. At the end of that time, assuming a hypothetical 7 percent annual rate of return, you’d have slightly more than $21,000 – not enough, by itself, to allow you to move to a Caribbean island, but still a nice addition to your retirement income. (You will need to pay taxes on your withdrawals eventually, unless the money was invested in a Roth IRA, in which case withdrawals are tax-free, provided you meet certain conditions.) Of course, you don’t have to wait 30 years before you see any benefits from your tax refund. If you did decide to put a $2,760 tax refund toward your IRA for 2018, you’d already have reached just over half the allowable contribution limit of $5,500. (If you’re 50 or older, the limit is $6,500.) By getting such a strong head start on funding your IRA for the year, you’ll give your money more time to grow. Also, if you’re going to “max out” on your IRA, your large initial payment will enable you to put in smaller monthly amounts than you might need to contribute otherwise. While using your refund to help fund your IRA is a good move, it’s not the only one you can make. Here are a few other possibilities: Pay down some debt. At some time or another, most of us probably feel we’re carrying too much debt. If you can use your tax refund to help reduce your monthly debt payments, you’ll improve your cash flow and possibly have more money available to invest for the future. Build an emergency fund. If you needed a new furnace or major car repair, or faced any other large, unexpected expense, how would you pay for it? If you did not have the cash readily available, you might be forced to dip into your long-term investments. To help avoid this problem, you could create an emergency fund containing three to six months’ worth of living expenses, with the money kept in a liquid, low-risk account. Your tax refund could help build your emergency fund. Look for other investment opportunities. If you have some gaps in your portfolio, or some opportunities to improve your overall diversification, you might want to use your tax refund to add some new investments. The more diversified your portfolio, the stronger your defense against market volatility that might primarily affect one particular asset class. (However, diversification, by itself, can’t protect against all losses or guarantee profits.) Clearly, a tax refund gives you a chance to improve your overall financial picture. So take your time, evaluate your options and use the money wisely.

SCAM POP-UPS Another well-known trick is the website pop-up, that little browser window that sometimes appears while you’re searching the Web. Cybercriminals set up websites with scam pop-ups with messages and phone numbers. These pop-ups usually are not easy to close. While some pop-ups are useful and important, others are traps that attempt to mislead you into revealing sensitive personal or financial information, paying for fake antivirus software, or even installing malware and viruses onto your device. Do not call the number in the pop-up. Microsoft’s error and warning messages NEVER include a phone number. EMAIL SCAM You may receive an email that appears to be from someone on your email list. If you open it and it

has a very short greeting and also says to click on the link shown, DO NOT Click on that link! The email account belonging to the sender has probably not been hacked, but it’s not a bad idea to notify them and have them change their email passwords. Whoever sends these emails is able to make them look like they are from your friends but if you are able to see the actual address being sent from, you will see that it is not the same as that of your contacts. What to do if you already gave information to a tech support person If you think that you might have downloaded malware from a tech support scam website or allowed a cybercriminal to access your computer, change your computer’s password, change the password on your main email account, and change the password for any financial accounts, especially your bank and credit card. If you are not confident in running computer scans, have your computer tech do it for you.

Carpentry Services

Bob Fountaine

THE MICROSOFT IMPERSONATION SCAM This scam seems to be running rampant lately. The usual setup is for the scammers to call you and identify themselves as technicians from Microsoft, then tell you that your computer has a virus (or other problem) that is causing it to generate all sorts of error messages on the Internet and many bad things will happen if you don’t correct the issue immediately. The techs who just called you are ready to step in and solve your problem - for a fee, of course! If someone claiming to be from Microsoft tech support contacts you: Do not purchase any software or services. NEVER give control of your computer to them. NEVER provide your credit card or financial information. My best advice is to hang up. They will be relentless and keep calling, sometimes using different caller ID numbers.

Microsoft does not make unsolicited phone calls to help you fix your computer!

Welcome Committee sent to the Welcome Get-Together with many requests and inquiries. It is taking TEN of us to replace Marlene and we certainly won’t do it as well as she did - but we will try to carry on the torch and make her proud of us as best we can. So, please if you have been a new resident in the past seven years, make sure you stop Marlene and thank her for making your new home a special one! If you are a new resident in 2018, you are more than welcome to call me from now on to get any

information or requests as a new homeowner in Del Tura. This is the most friendly, active community I have ever heard of and YOU are now part of the fun! Please feel free to call, write or text me to join our committee or to get acquainted... Welcome and God bless, Sherry Cottini (Welcome Committee Chair) 239-770-7711 (cell) scottini6037@gmail.com

Why Trap-Neuter-Return Feral Cats? Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the humane and effective program for stray and feral cats. It is just what it sounds like: Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be neutered, vaccinated and ear tipped. After recovery, they are returned to their home- the outdoors. Cats and kittens who are friendly and appear to have been socialized at some point, may be adopted into homes. There are many reasons TNR works - it provides a life-saving solution for these cats who have lived outdoors, rather than being

Cats are vaccinated against rabies, so they are less susceptible to infectious diseases. These cats also have a “tipped” left ear, which means they have been fixed. Removing all the cats from a community does NOT work – they provide a service of getting rid of the unwanted vermin. These are the reasons we embrace and promote TNR! If you want to have fun when you exercise try our Zumba/Dance Fitness class (called Tura Zumba in the Tower) and Jane Fonda Aerobics exercises. We took a picture of our group on Valentine’s Day from our Zumba/Dance Fitness class. This class is held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday start-

ing at 9:15 AM and over at 10:00 AM. Sometimes we use weights, but if you don’t have your own, we have some for you to borrow. We have great teachers for this class in the Winter time and DVD’s of them to show in the summer. I thank our teachers Adele Guthreau and Pam Finocchiaro for teaching and Maria Soper, Barb Clancy, and Linda Sullivan for running the

equipment to start up and close down our exercise classes. I also want to thank the others who help out too. At 10 AM on Monday we have Jane Fonda Workout DVD and on Wednesday and Friday we have Jane Fonda Body Sculpting DVD. They are over about 10:45 AM. Weights are used for the Wednesday and Friday classes and mats are used for both Jane Fonda classes. We have weights and mats you can borrow. I have read and experienced that exercise helps burn those calories, lubricate the joints, increases circulation, helps lower cholesterol, strengthens and stretches those muscles, increases bone density, helps relieve stress, and helps improve coordination and balance. So please come and join us and find out if these types of exercises are right for you, but if not, there are many ways to get exercise at Del Tura, so please stay healthy and enjoy life.

SPORTS Del Tura Bowling League Keeps Rolling Along

by Glenn Tointon

10/18

With three weeks to go, the Del Tones are solidly in first place with a sixteen point lead over 4 Amigos . The Del Tones have had strong performances from MaryKay Tointon, Barry Plisch, Millie Hanrahan, and Ken Baron. MaryKay has second high women’s average at 154 while Ken has high handicap game at 260. Barry has the third highest men’s handicap game at 254 and Millie had the highest women’s handicap game last week with a 231! Four great bowlers having a wonderful season. The four Amigos are made up of Glenn Town, Denise Rose, Dave Lane, and Marianela Tamayo. Denise has the high-

est average in the league at 177, Marianela has the women’s high handicap series with a whopping 704, while Dave Lane and Glenn Tointon always look good on their approach. In a very close third is Romp-

er Room, with Cindy Baron, Jeff Meehan, Joan Whaley, and Geoff Wilhite leading the way. They

might have been in first place but with a name like Romper Room everyone thinks they are too young to be taken seriously! Our season ends with our banquet on April third at Anthony’s which is always an enjoyable time. Remember, the Del Tura bowling league at Bowland in Cape Coral grew this year from six teams to eight teams and may expand to ten teams next year because of so much interest. If you think you may be interested in becoming a part of this very enjoyable league, let Dave Csuy (239-770-6254) or Glenn Tointon (920-309-1294 or glenn1947@yahoo.com) know. Our individual league averages are from 111 to 177. We have one major goal and that is “have fun”!

We started March with our Member-Guest tournament. It was beautifully organized by Yvonne Torsok and her committee. Yvonne even ordered a nice breeze for us on a quite hot Florida morning. Winners in the three flights were: Flight 1-Jeannine Fitzgerald and Linda Birecree. Flight 2-Micki Sullivan and Chris Hardman Flight 3-Cathy Sim and Dorothy Cook. In addition, several ladies won for closest to the pin, skins and many lovely gifts the committee organized and raffled off. Still to come this month will be our Shoot Out on March 10th with two groups and a barbecue. Thursdays will continue to include closest to the pin as well as chip-ins as we play a variety of games. If you are new to Del Tura and interested in joining our Association please contact our membership Chairperson, Kay Rolader at 292-4964. She has all the information and can answer your questions. Two holes-in-one to report: Penny Mikesh on February 27th on 7 South and Lynne Miller on March 1, during our Member-Guest tournament, on 8 West. It was Lynne’s 2nd. and Penny’s 7th!!

Invitationals are posted in the Dungeon. These are golf events held outside of Del Tura. We organize car pools to various local courses. Lunch is always included. Invitationals are team events. It is an enjoyable way to try another course and meet new people. Golf carts have become a popular, economic form of transportation in communities like ours all over the country. (How many of you have one car and two golf carts?!) But we also have to be responsible. After a couple of recent golf cart accidents I read up on a variety of issues related to golf carts. Nationwide, there are approximately 13,000 golf cart accidents a year. The most common is that they tip when going around

corners or down hills (especially after rain) at even a modest speed. Letting children ride standing up in the back is probably not a good idea. Interestingly, one third of accidents involve children. They are not necessarily driving but, as we have all observed in Del Tura, they could be. (A child must be 14 in Florida to drive a cart. In Del Tura, it is stipulated that no one drive a cart without a driver’s license.) As any of us can attest to, the first few times we have driven a different cart, getting used to the brakes and accelerator can be tricky. Why would you turn a golf cart over to anyone without driving experience and not be fearful of an accident? Bottom line: be careful. Keep your legs in, and hands on the steering wheel. As a passenger don’t get out until the cart has come to a full stop and never leave a cart parked facing downhill. If you usually go home the beginning of April we will miss you. There are many reasons for leaving but great ones for staying including lovely weather and fewer crowds. But, also, fewer friends. Drive safely, if you see snow up north, say hello for us. We will miss you but not “it”!

In third place is Laurel Estates, with 161 points, followed by Lake Fairways with 127 points, Windmill Village with 119 points, Her-

ons Glen with 109, and Six Lakes with 102. This week we have a bye, then finish the season at Herons Glen and home against Lake Arrowhead. On March 28th, all teams will perform in a tournament at the county courts in North Fort Myers. Each team plays all the other teams once in abbreviated games. This is followed by a nice

luncheon served this year at Laurel Estates. Having four new players this year was supposed to be a rebuilding year but everyone has stepped up their game, including the “newbees!”. This group is one of the most coachable teams I have been associated with and their record attests to this. The final outcome will be in May’s Tower.

Friday Shuffleboard League

By Jack Blevons This will be short because as I write today, March 2nd., we have only 1-more week of regular play so by the time you are reading this, our season will be over as the 8-Team Tournament & also our Annual Bust-Up Party. So, I will wait until the 1st week of April after all those things are over & done with & then write a

more detailed article letting you all know our trophy winners in both the “A” & the “B” flights as

well as the Tournament winners & will also write on how the BustUp Party went too. I hope I’m not jinxing myself by saying this has been one of the few years that we have not had a rain-out on Fridays this season. With 2-weeks left, I hope I’m not going to have to eat my words. So, will let it at that & will be back here again in the May Tower.

Thursday Night Bingo By the time you get to read this, our bingo will be over for another season & will resume again either in late October or the beginning of November. When we started this past October, our attendance was very small & because of that our pay-outs were also small. This probably was not very much fun unless you were lucky enough to win. The winnings barely covered the cost of your playing. Once the snow-birds start returning, our attendance picks up as well as thr amount pf payout. So, thinking that, we probably won’t start playing again until November 1st, which will be the 1st Thursday of the month. Writing this in early March, we have been really having nice crowds so our pay-outs

have been much larger which everyone likes. We did simplify the games also which made it both easier & more fun to play. We will continue to run bingo with that in mind so that it’s enjoyed by everyone who comes to play. In closing Janet & I want to thank all of you people who were so nice to donate your time every Thursday night to help us run bingo. There were 19 other people who helped Janet & I run bingo every Thursday night

& without you folks, we would not be able to get it done. It takes the whole crew to make it work each & every Thursday night & we want to say a big “thank-you” & hope that we can count on you when we start up again in November. We have a really great crew & hope we can count on all of you to help us again in November. Until then, have a good Summer wherever you spend it. Stay safe, stay well & we’ll see you then.

I felt like my body had gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor’s permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.

Mailbag Dear FISH member A big thank you for the lovely luncheon you gave for residents 90 plus. .My mother, Doris Wilkins, was invited and I came as her guest. .From the moment we arrived at the Herons Glen CC, she was made to feel so welcome and honored. Food was delicious, setting beautiful and fellow table mates were friendly. We had a wonderful afternoon making new friends! Thank you again for the many ways you help all the residents of Del Tura, We’ve only been here six months, and have met so many kind people. Blessings, Barbara Driscoll 

What a wonderful evening! 58 of Del Tura’s seasonal & permanent residents who are originally from New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania (Metropolitans) gathered Sunday the 11th to enjoy a delightful pot luck dinner and fellowship. Thank you to Denise Palazzo for planning the event. See you all next year! 

They portrayed individuals healing from their respective disappointing relationships and while traveling their luggage was mixed up. A night of imagi-

nation and true talent. Thank you again for your hard work and sharing your talents with us here at Del Tura.

Another Great Performance! Thank you to Jacqueline Keen and the Cast of BAGGAGE a magnificent show. The cast did a wonderful job performing Sam Bobrick’s play.
