Be sure to make plans to join the Choralaires for their Annual Spring Concert March 30th in the Starlight Ballroom. Due to popular demand, the group will offer two performances……. at 2pm and 7pm. According to Director Dave Adams, “This year’s concert is one of the most ambitious yet, and promises music for all tastes.” Dave added, “This is the largest Choralaires group yet for me, and the concert will also include several special individual and ensemble performances you won’t want to miss. I’m really excited to share our music with Del Tura.” Dave will once again have the talented help of Larry Walimire as Assistant Director. Again this year, tickets are free and will be made available on a first come first served basis. The first distribution will be March 12th at the Tuesday morning coffee social for HOA members only. There will be a limit of 8 tickets per person. Tickets will then be made available to all residents at the March 19th and 26th Tuesday Coffee Socials. President’s Korner… PA. To this day, children still walk to school along streets lined with small shops, restaurants, a drug store, post office, and the town has remained a close knit community living by their timeless motto, “It’s so nice to be nice” posted on a sign as you enter town. I have always tried to live by that rule. The winding streets of Del Tura and people always waiving as they drive by reminds me of Avalon and is a part of the charm of our community. I’ve enjoyed serving as your Entertainment Committee Chair the past five years, this year as H.O.A. Vice President, and I will continue that commitment of service to you as your H.O.A. President. Remember, smiles are contagious. Bette Ewing-Cheney

of our H.O.A, suggestion boxes located in the H.O.A. office and in the back of the Starlight Ballroom to keep us informed of your concerns and ideas to improve our community. As our outgoing President, Dave Adams, has always said, “be a part of the solution, not the problem.” Suggestions and concerns from the box are read and taken seriously by the board and presented at the next Tuesday H.O.A. management meeting with Fred. Your effort to use the suggestion box should be your first step in communicating with me or our board members. In forthcoming Tuesday morning coffee sessions and TOWER articles, I will keep you informed of Del Tura issues and Board plans and progress. I am very proud and honored to have been elected as your new H.O.A. President. It was exciting to see so many Del Tura residents in the board room for our annual meeting. Too many Board meetings are sparcely attended and seem cold and impersonal. I do hope that more of you will make the effort to come to our meetings to share your concerns and ideas and stay informed of our goals and efforts to help improve the Del Tura experience. Remember, there is strength in numbers. Our resident Linda Storma recently said at coffee that the prime requisite for this office is a love of Del Tura. I can honestly say that I embrace that requirement. I truly do love it here at Del Tura and as well as my fellow Delturians. I encourage you to make use

Who Can You Trust to Reduce Stress of Estate Planning? When it’s time to do your estate planning – and it’s actually never too soon to begin – you may find the process, at first, to be somewhat bewildering. You’ll have many questions: What sort of arrangements should I make? Who should get what? And when? How can you address these and other issues? You’ll need to get some help. In drawing up your estate plan, you will need to work with an attorney. And for guidance on the investments that can help fund your estate planning arrangements, such as a living trust, you can draw on the help of a financial advisor. You also may want to connect with a trust company, which can help facilitate your estate plans and coordinate the activities of your legal and financial professionals. Of course, you might think that only the very wealthy need a trust company. But that’s not really the case – people of many income levels have long used these companies. As long as you have a reasonable amount of financial assets, you likely can benefit from the various services provided by a trust organization. And these services can range from administration of a variety of trusts (such as living trusts and charitable trusts) to asset-management services (bill-paying, checkwriting, etc.) to safekeeping services (such as providing secure vaults for jewelry and collectibles). In short, using a trust company can make things a lot easier when it’s time to plan and execute your estate. A trust company can help you in the following ways: Avoiding family squabbles – It’s unfortunate, but true: Dividing the assets of an estate can cause ill will and turmoil among family members. But a trust company can act as a neutral third party, thus minimizing any feelings of unfairness. Providing greater control – When you establish an arrangement such as a living trust, administered by the trust company, you can give yourself great control over how you want your assets distributed. For example, you can specify that a certain child receive portions of your estate spaced out over several years – a move that may appeal to you if you think this child might not be ready to handle large sums all at once. Saving time and effort – As mentioned above, when you work with a trust company, you can let it do all the “legwork” of coordinating your plans with your financial professional, tax advisor and attorney. And these professionals are used to dealing with trust companies. Gaining Protection – Trust companies assume fiduciary responsibility for your financial well-being – which means that your best interests will always be considered in each service and transaction performed. You can choose from among a variety of trust companies, large and small. Before choosing one, you may want to check out the services and fees of a few different firms. In any case, as you move toward that time of your life when estate planning becomes more essential, talk to your attorney, tax advisor and financial professional about whether using the services of a trust company might be right for you.
This article was written by Edward Jones for use by your local Edward Jones Financial Advisor.

Good Timers’ Singles Club News DON’T COUNT THE DAYS.... MAKE THE DAYS COUNT! February was a busy month for The Good Timers. First we supported our HOA by hosting the American Table at the International Food Fair and, because of all the hard work that our VP Terry Thompson put in we were a “sweet” success! We served apple pie, key lime pie and toll house cookies. All American favorites. Yes, we WERE the sweetest country represented. I would like to personally thank Terry, Cindy Brinton and Ann Boncore for all their support in this endeavor. We couldn’t have done it without the volunteers that were represented at all the delicious tables! We
continued on with our success at our monthly meeting....we had eleven new singles show up and five became immediate full time members! What an unexpected joy to see so many newcomers want to join in on the fun that we have planned. Some started getting involved right away by joining us in at our weekly “game day” which was held on Sunday’s in the month of February. Next was our monthly birthday luncheon which was held at Fabio’s Restaurant in Cape Coral. Yet another new restaurant for some and a favorite with others. And we also supported the Del Tura Repertory Company by going see The Odd Couple. The upcoming events for this month are celebrating our birthday luncheon as a combination birthday/
St. Patty’s Day celebration at the Fountain Grille on the 14th. Next it’s off to our first “outside” play, “Ripcord” at the Cape Coral Cultural Park Theater. If all of this sounds inviting to you please come to our meeting this month. Please check out our bulletin board outside the Pub area to see what’s next on our “Save the Date” listing! Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month. Socializing begins at 4:00 in the Jacaranda room and the meeting starts promptly at 4:30. All single Del Turian’s are encouraged to join us at one of our monthly meetings to see if this is something you’d like to pursue. Hope to see even more new faces in the months to come. For more info contact President Liz Poniatowski at ciociliz@ gmail.com or 239-800-2935.
“Daydreaming”
By Dianne J. Roderick
Are you a daydreamer? I remember as a very young child being reprimanded for not paying attention in class. Daydreaming was not allowed and considered disrespectful and very rude! Needless to say I spent many after school sessions writing over and over again “I will not daydream in class!” The only thing that came from that was a sore hand and a dislike for cursive writing. So much so that by the time I made my way to third grade my cursive writing was so atrocious that I received an F in handwriting. I was devastated but convinced myself that it was my own rebellious fault. Eventually my handwriting did improve but the daydreaming followed me through my school years and into adulthood. The importance of daydreaming is misunderstood. Some say that it gets in the way of learning, but I truly feel the positives outweigh the negatives. The most creative people are, or have been the biggest daydreamers. Some of our famous dreamers… Thomas Edison, Robert Frost,
Frank Lloyd Wright, Ernest Hemingway, and Madame Curie… were considered to be non-attentive learners. Look at what they contributed to our society! What would our lives be like if these people gave up on their dreams Daydreams can be distracting but is that a bad thing? Many of us
get caught up in the monotonous routines of life, doing the same things day in and day out. So I ask you, don’t we all need a bit of distraction in our lives? Taking time out to sit back and close our eyes to think about pleasant experiences, past or future, can really give a much needed boost to our well being. Shake it up a little, so to speak.

106 W. Hancock Bridge Pkwy. (Santa Barbara/Publix Center) Can daydreams be considered creative distractions? I believe they can be! As an educator I was always a supporter of free play. For instance, in science our children were given the materials prior to the lesson without instructions and then given time to create what their imaginations led them to. It was amazing to see the creativity! As adults we can still allow time in our schedules for creative distraction. We need to give ourselves opportunities to think outside of the box like we did when we were kids. Years ago our famous dreamers would have been considered students who were not going to succeed. Today many people would have labeled them ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Thank God they persevered! Maybe we’re not the creative geniuses of the past but we certainly have the ability to allow ourselves time to dream. So my friends let your imaginations lead you to those dreams that you thought were impossible. The possibilities are limitless!

Fish Of Del Tura News February has just flown by. It seems like FISH just began their “Bakeless Bake Sale” fund raiser and now we are at the end. What a blast we have had! I have so many people to thank I do not even know where to begin. Most importantly, a huge Thank You to everyone who so generously donated to our organization. We want you to know how much each dollar means to us. We will be able to assist those residents who may need our help. That is what we are all about. FISH stands for “Friends in Service Here”. That means if you need help please call our FISH telephone number, 997-3474. If you need a ride to a doctor’s appointment, the grocery store or drugstore, call us. A recording will answer your call. Just leave the following information: your name, address, phone number, where you need to go and what date and time.
FISH has 9 “bookies” and one of them will pick up your call and they will begin a search for a volunteer driver to drive you. Once a driver has been secured he or she will contact you to make final arrangements. The driver will pick you at your home, take you to your appointment and deliver you back to your home. There is no cost to you. All we ask is to please give us at least 24 hours leeway. Your contribution also goes to honor our over 90 years old. We celebrate these residents by having an elegant luncheon every other year. We also offer dinners to anyone who has been hospitalize and has finally returned home. This really helps the families where the husband does not know his way around the kitchen. Your monies also go to keep our medical equipment up to date. Remember if you need to borrow a wheelchair, potty- chair, crutches or a cane, just give us a call. Again when we lend you something from
our medical equipment trailer there is no cost to you. I would be remised if I didn’t send an enormous thank you to Sue Symes. Sue is the originator of the “Brakeless Bake Sale” for FISH. Her tireless work is so very appreciated. I hope you were at Coffee during the month of February. You would have seen for yourself Sue’s energy. And I hope you didn’t miss Sue and Jackie Hinrich’s skit. Thank you everyone for helping FISH. You have our gratitude!

Video Corner The video library of Del Tura was started over a decade ago as a labor of love by movie fans. We are trying to get the word out that our library has a fabulous collection of films, past and present, just waiting for you. Discover how pleasurable it is to watch a film of your own choice, uninterrupted by commercials. Those of you, for one reason or another, who cannot get
to the movies or who don’t enjoy the movie theater experience, can still see the current movies. For example, we have just ordered Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book and A Star Is Born, all nominated for this year‘s academy awards. Come to the video library every Saturday from 1 to 3 PM and choose a great movie. Bohemian Rhapsody will be shown on the March movie night, date yet to be determined. Hope to see you there.

DEL TURA’S DOG OF THE MONTH - FOREST Hi everyone, My name is Forest. I broke my leg on the race track and a kind family paid for my surgery. I met my mom at the Vet’s office. I came for a home visit and it was love at first sight. I had to wait for my home until I had finished my rehabilitation. I was 2 years old and ready to start my retired life. I love the Dog Park and let my Mom know every day at 4:00 o’clock that I am ready. I love to greet everyone at the park and have my butt scratched. I also monitor the other dogs if they get rowdy. (I am the black greyhound)
I have a sister. Her name is Ibby and here is her story: My name is Ibby and I am soon to be a 14 year old brindle Greyhound. My Mom saw my photo in the News Press and fell in love
with me. I was 5 years old and I met her at a meet and greet at Pet Smart. I came home with my new family that same day. I had a short racing career as I bumped other dogs and that was not allowed. I love coming to the dog park. I wander around to everyone for some pets. I have a very sweet nature and a calm demeanor. Ibby and Forest want to thank Hometown America for the dog park that they love so much. The dog park is one of the best amenities at Del Tura! Thank You Hometown. The Glick family.

SPORTS Tura Zumba by Teddy Reid
1/19
Tura Zumba is an exercise with Zumba and Dance Fitness (Dance Fitness has a 10 minute segment for strengthening and toning, weights optional). On February 13 we took a picture of the class participants celebrating Valentine’s Day by dancing to love songs and dressing in red or pink. Our Zumba instructor that day was Pam; she did a great job leading our class. Pam and Adele share in teaching Zumba and Dance Fitness. The classes are held in the Starlight Ballroom from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We have lots of fun dancing to music and it’s a great way to make friends and improves our emotional health along with our physical. Exercise

Welcome to March. Can’t believe how fast the days are flying by. But, writing this today on February 8th, at least we can say it has been finally feeling like SW Florida again with some most-welcome warmer temperatures. We certainly have had a cold January but saying that, knowing what it was like back in our home state of Wisconsin, I really shouldn’t be complaining. It was still a whole lot warmer down here than the frigid sub-zero temperatures they had up there along with that nasty white stuff they call snow. Anyhow, need to talk about shuffleboard. Today we just finished playing week #12 so will tell you the standings after today’s games. In the A-Flight the top 3
leaders remain the same. In first place are Bob & Donna Crawford with a record of 32/4. They are followed by Ben Hargraves & Janet Blevons just 2-games behind at 30/6 & still in 3rd place are Chris Brylski & Buster Jager at 27/9. The B-Flight leaders are Kathy Boesel & Mary Pimental at 17/19, followed by Ray David & Cam Smith 1-game behind in 2nd place at 16/20 & in 3rd place are Audrey Person & Deb Taylor at 13/23. Saying that, with only 5-weeks left to play which is 15 more games, most of the others in both flights are still very close & have a chance of changing a lot of that around. The regular season ends on the 15th & then that will be followed by the 8-Team Tournament comprised of the top-4 finishers in both flights who will play in a double elimination
tournament to see who will win the trophies for the top 3-teams on March 22nd. Then on March 29 we will have our 15th Annual Bust-Up Party which is held in the Royal Palm Ballroom for all our league members as well as any people who have been subs that will like to attend. Along with all the good food, passing out the 18-trophies & taking pictures, we will all enjoy the camaraderie which makes our league so much fun every year. Information on that party will be posted this month on the shuffleboard shack every Friday in March along with a sign-up sheet so we know who will all be coming. In the May Tower I will write the results of the season as well as the Tournament & also the party.

SPORTS
As of today, February 7th, Del Tura’s traveling league is off to a great start. In their last three games they have defeated Windmill Village, Heron’s Glen, and lost a close 14-16 decision to Six Lakes without two top players. Newly acquired Kurt King has opened the season with 11 wins and only 3 losses. I have now named
him “kitchen man” as he puts more people in the kitchen then anyone! Also with a superior record is Judy Lessard with 12 wins and 3 losses. Rounding out our team are many quality players like Glenn Tointon, MaryKay Tointon, Janet Reinen, Bob Crawford, Donna Crawford, Diana Camp, Dennis Major, Caroline Brueggerman, Marlene Eck, Marcella Carothers, and substitute Cam Smith.
We play on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm and enjoy people cheering us from the bleachers. Our final home games are: Six Lakes on March 6 and Heron’s Glen on March 13. Hope you can find the time to come see us get revenge! Anyone interested in joining our team please email me at glenn1947@yahoo.com. We always need good players.

With ten teams this year we are finding the competition to be outstanding which really makes it a fun league. From lovely weather to our wettest January in recent history. You must admit the course and ponds look great but our Thursday golf has been almost missing. In fact, our President’s Cup was washed out the second day and did not finish until February 7th. The results (finally!) are Flight A: Bobbie Asper. Flight B: Ann DeGrande. Flight C: Gail Gulino. Flight D: Pat Bedard. Congratulations, ladies. We followed with the Valentine’s tournament on the 14th. Lots of red everywhere. To finish the month a sold out Member-Guest was held the 28th.
During the next few weeks Ryan will be holding clinics Wednesdays and Fridays. Space is limited. Please sign up in the Pro Shop. Ryan will have a different topic for each clinic. Private lessons are also available. Anyone new to Del Tura: We are always looking for new members. Our membership Chairperson is Kay Rolader. Contact Kay at 239-292-4964 if you are interested in joining. Lots of new rules kicked in on January 1. Speed of play seems to be the theme with many of the changes. Paul says the most miss-understood rule is dropping the ball for placement. It is no longer from your shoulder but
your knee. This should allow you to get a better lie. Also, following the rule change, if you watch the pro-golfers, almost all of them are leaving the flag in when putting. If you do pull the flag and then hit it, there is a 1 stroke (down from 2) penalty. Leave the flag in and no threat of a penalty! On March 14 we will have our final shoot-out of the season. Three qualifiers were held and you will be flighted. Play or watch, then lunch afterwards! As usual, January through April is very busy; regular golf, tournaments as well as Pro Shop sponsored events. Make your choices and have fun!

HOA-Sponsored Thursday Night Bingo chances of winning. Doors open for sales starting at 6:00 & sales end at 6:45 so we can correlate the pay-outs & then we start playing promptly at 7:00. We are usually done between 9:00 & 9:30. We also have soda & water for sale for anyone interested. You do have to be at least 18 years of age & also no alcohol is permitted while we play. If you
have guests visiting you, they are also welcome to come & play but again the age rule also applies to them. On behalf of all our great team of volunteers, who freely donate their time every Thursday night along with Janet & myself, we hope you’ll come on up to the clubhouse & play some bingo with us. The more that come the more fun we have & it also makes all the volunteers who help run bingo feel better knowing that their donated time every week is worthwhile. Look forward to seeing you every Thursday night.

SAME DAY SERVICE! 5/19
As you read this, March is when our Thursday Night Bingo comes to a close for the 2018-2019 seasons. Your last night to come & play & hopefully go home with some money will be March 28th. Up until now we have been having some really nice attendance which then results in some nice pots to be won by lucky players. I often hear the phrase, “I never win anyhow so why play”. Well, I am going to just say that you can’t win if you don’t come & play.
That should be pretty easy to understand. It’s just a nice way to spend a couple of hours every Thursday night with a chance of going home with some pretty good cash winnings. Doesn’t cost much to play either as you can play for as little as just $6 which gets you into the game & also can spend a little bit more if you want, which will increase your
