APPRECIATION DAY On Saturday, February 23rd, under sunny, blue skies, APPRECIATION DAY was held. It was a fun day for all who attended! They enjoyed coffee and baked goods, lunch, games, Bingo, and dancing and prizes at night. Lunch was served to 600 residents [sorry about the baked beans]. Besides the regular games, many new games were introduced: treasure hunt, croquet, fishing, pickleball, and spin the wheel where participants were awarded tickets for a chance to win a prize. Following the games, Bingo was played, and prizes were given out to the lucky winners. The day ended with a Hawaiian Themed Dance, where Stu and Belle Berman were honored. You thought you were in Hawaii with all the decorations and colorful attire of the attendees. Besides dancing, door and game prizes were given out. Also, a hula dance competition between the men and ladies was held, with the ladies prevailing; there was a lot of hip swiveling and chuckles. All of this would not be possible if it were not for more than 100 volunteers and Hometown America’s financial support. Thank you to both. A big thank you to the many vendors and anonymous donors for their support. The APPRECIATION DAY committee is open to new ideas and new committee members for next year’s event.
