elcome to the first issue of our enhanced, bi-monthly club newsletter, Legends. We hope you enjoy the new design and use this as a source for all things Isleworth - the Club, Community and Realty operations. With the reorganization and integration of Club and Realty under my leadership, we are gaining access and stronger support from key, experienced Tavistock Group executives. You will find details on this in the Real Estate section. It is only through attracting and keeping great people that we can improve consistency and deliver the highest standards of excellence in all areas. The existing team has been extremely passionate about embracing this focus. To that end, we are pleased to share that Brian Minarick will now oversee the pool bar and Emma Li has been promoted to help with lead banquet service. Importantly, we have also strengthened the team and have welcomed new employees who all fit our philosophy of great hospitality, warm and courteous service and an attention-to-detail as we all strive to make Isleworth special. Help me in welcoming Angel Hubble in the Pro Shop, Rebecca Studin as Assistant Golf Professional, Meredith Lowe in Marketing and Communications and Christopher Bulat as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager.

CONTENTS INSIGHT

We continue to see great support of our events. Over 100 Members attended our largest-ever Super Bowl party, our inaugural Wine & Dine event was sold out and we had a great Valentine’s night at the Club. Friday nights in Lake Butler Lounge have become the place to be for Happy Hour and we have received great feedback on the Red30 club cocktail, weekly singers and Sunday lunch. These are great examples of changes that have improved peak service speed and brought a new offering with the ‘English’ roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding! Diary dates to look forward to include:

Thank you for helping us improve our service by even the smallest actions like making advanced restaurant reservations wherever possible, keeping our range balls off the golf course and repairing pitch marks to help our Golf Course Superintendent, Sean. H O W T O P L AY LAKE BLANCHE MONSTER

HOLE #3 BY JOHN COOK

“T

he main strategy for playing No.3 is knowing your game. An unreachable Par 5 means you don’t need your full power. Quality shotmaking can make this a birdie opportunity. Pick your target off the tee, and erring a little left is okay. Treat your second shot as a precise approach shot, don’t just go through the motions of laying up. With your 2nd in the fairway, you can take aim at the hole location. Remember that the approach to the green plays 3-5 yards uphill. The right side of the green is fairly flat, with very little break. It is okay to be a little long when the hole location is on the left, much better than the front bunker. You get through Hole 3 in par or net par and you have picked up a half shot on the field.

The sculptor stated, “This became an established idea with me--that of an outer protection to an inner form, and it may have something to do with the mother and child idea; that is where there is the relation of the big thing to the little thing, and the protection idea” (quoted in A. Wilkinson, ed., op. cit., p. 214). Gelburd has written that the present sculpture “is the Internal/External form expanded so that the fetus has just emerged from the enveloping mother figure. It is the Madonna and Child simplified. Much of his work is monumental, and he was particularly well-known for a series of reclining nudes.

LEAD LEG BEGINS TO STR AIGHTEN

ne of the hot topics in golf instruction right now is to use the ground to create power. The feeling of lowering into the ground in the backswing and springing up through impact can be lost in communication. One of the easiest ways to create that sensation is to try the drill illustrated in the above photos. All you will need for the drill is an object, preferably something soft that will not slide, that you can place under your left or lead foot. Before attempting to hit a real shot, make a few swings with the object, in our case we used a Nerf football, under your left foot. In the backswing, having the object under your lead

foot will create a sense of gripping the ground and loading up on your trail side. Next, try and focus on the feeling you have as you swing through. You should feel how the left leg will begin to straighten as you swing down from the top of your backswing. If you tend to have a hard time keeping your balance, chances are you are sliding your body too much toward the target. If you are indeed sliding, this drill will also show you some of the compensations you are making at impact because of the lower body slide.

e are in a new chapter for Isleworth Realty and are reinvigorated by a new team and new focus on the luxury realty business.

Agent Dianne Duvall, an integral part of Isleworth Realty for more than 16 years, is now joined by Dana Rohe, who was previously with Coldwell Banker where she specialized in luxury real estate for more than 25 years. We know Dianne and Dana share a passion for Isleworth and we are excited about their partnership to help sell luxury homes within our community. Isleworth Realty is now supported by Donya Myrick as Closing Manager, Lauren Morgan as Head of Marketing, Karl Dinkler as Creative Director and Annie Snyder as Marketing Associate. This same core team has been involved in more than $1 billion in successful sales and marketing at Albany and The Residences at The St. Regis Atlanta and we are excited they are now supporting Isleworth. In the coming weeks and months, you will see the launch of a new, more user-friendly website for Isleworth Realty as well as new sales collateral materials for each listed home and the community. We look forward to sharing news, updates and real estate opportunities within Isleworth with you in future newsletters.
