04 ALTERNATIBA CONTEST WINNING PROJECT LA POSSESSION, REUNION ISLAND 2017 01

ALTERNATIBA WINNING CONTEST

Alternatiba is a citizen movement for the climate and social justice. With their network of more than

130 local collectives and 10 mobilization bases, they have been a key player in climate mobilization since 2013.

They works for an ecologically sustainable, socially just and democratic society, based on the values of solidarity, sharing, mutual aid and cooperation, a culture of non-violence, tolerance, benevolence and respect.

In 2017, our architecture school was solicited to participate at a special event for Alternatiba.

It was the annual ecological village located in La Possession.

They proposed a contest between 5 teams of architectural students. Each team had to propose the project of a pavillon, using only recycled and reused materials. The winning team would have their pavillion constructed and used for the ecological village.

Concept for Alternatiba:

Our pavillon concept was using principaly two elements :

1 - recycled plastic crates from local markets, bars, restaurants,supermarkets (standard dimension : 60 x 40 X 30 cm) that we lend to local famers

and

2 - chainning with plastic cable wire strap cord and wooden board.

Thansks to this project, we had the chance to built it and to expose it to the ecological village.

It was a great opportunity to do something meaningfull and to learn the value avec recycling in architecture.

The established fact in Benidorm is the loss of identity to the benefit of a mass seaside and seasonal tourism. Therefore, the main intention of the project is to give back a cultural appeal to the city while responding to the growing demand of tourism. The project is part of a large urban project consisting of several cultural and entertainment facilities, allowing to

give back dynamism to the city of Benidorm. Thanks to its materiality and its volumes, the project fits into the arid landscape of this southern metropolis. Using a simple structure composed of plateaus, curtain walls, and a textured double skin in corten steel, the volumetric design creates spaces for circulation, exhibitions, and entertainment on the site.

The second skin in corten comes to delimit spaces of relaxation and entertainment, while creating plays of light thanks to the sunning.

The pattern of the corten metal skin is inspired by the plane flies, very popular Spain, especially by the Arab influence.

The site is surrounded by streets. In the middle, a public square is created to reunited people who come to visit, or only going through the museum.

In its mission to educate, socialize and qualify, the college offers a true sense of belonging and well-being to all, young and old.

Its physical environment maximizes the development of everyone’s potential and contributes to the enjoyment of learning and student success.

The school wants to develop a community that works together to provide a welcoming learning environment in an inspiring environment. It will create a link between the different city actors.

The objective of this project is to design the college’s architecture as well as its physical environment as the

student’s living environment.

The college aims to create inclusive, versatile and flexible learning environments, enabling innovation in teaching practices, according to the changing needs of students and school staff.

In addition, the project aims to achieve a healthy and active lifestyle through physical activity and well-being.

The college seeks to identify and propose the most effective ways to combat the sedentary nature of young people, by making them move at school, but also towards the sports complex and the park, as well as facilitating active transportation.

13 AN INNOVATING SCHOOL

The project is characterized by the duality between the bright and warm yellow color and the grey of the raw concrete.

According to Luis Baragan, it is the duality between colour and materiality that makes it possible to provoke a strong emotion. Color has a psychic effect on man, it will allow to delimit spaces and to guide the eye of the users.

Yellow is the most dynamic colour of warm colours. It is associated with laughter, hope, and sunlight. This colour brings energy and comfort to a feeling of optimism and cheerfulness.

On the opposite side there is a contrast between the yellow of the circulations and the double skin in BFUP in honeycomb.

20 MIRIALIS LABORATORY Renovation and lab layout for Rozen Architecture SEYNOD,SAVOIE FRANCE 2021 04

Public spaces - Health center

For this project, we had to carry out a complete renovation of an old car garage and transform it into a laboratory, including the public reception area and the technical platform for analysis.

After studying the different techniques of circulation and sens of direction in the laboratory, we applied the rules in force for this type of equipment.

In addition, I was entrusted with the custom design of the reception area, including the custom design of the furniture, the waiting area, as well as the sampling rooms.

A few months later, once the interior part of the building was delivered, the client expressed his wish to create a covid-19 Drive in addition to the laboratory. This meant the partial demolition of the covered shed that was used as a parking lot.

This project was entirely entrusted to me, including the realization of the plans, the requests of entry of carpark and creation of boat since the street to the town hall, the procedures the establishment of the DCE and the launching and the management of the building site.

The MIRIALIS group, with whom we built the Seynod laboratory, has called on our services again to build a second laboratory in the town of Douvaine.

This project was a new construction. The laboratory was part of a new health center in Savoy. This project is smaller than the one in Seynod: the program includes a sampling site, a secretariat and a dispatching office.

Furniture Design General View - Furniture

One of the great advantages of the private market remains the possibility of compromise, flexibility and the speed of the project phases. All we had to do was to submit an application for authorization to work on a building open to the public.

Once the premises had been accepted, we began the fitting-out work.

In the same way as for the Seynod laboratory, we were entrusted with the design of the reception and waiting room furniture.

I designed all the furniture, including a reception desk, the waiting room furniture and two storage units for the secretariat.

I then sent these plans to a carpentry and fitting company so that they could make the furniture to measure.

Today, the work is in progress, and I have the entire management of the site. Reception of the building site was planned for November 2021.

LUXURY PRIVATE VILLA

When I joined M2R ARCHITECTES in Rolle, I was assigned to an individual villa project for a private client, a as project manager and construction manager.

Between lac Geneva and the Jura mountain, the house fits into the landscape and the natural slope of the land. Surrounded by vinyeards and trees, the villa seems to be floating over the lac.

The clients wanted to have a provencal/ cottage inspired house, with classical elements, such as stones colomns and flooring (croatia stone).

This project was a very complex one because it includes a lot of technical details and particular equipment.

The installation of the networks as well as the technical part implies a particularly fastidious and very

difficult coordination.

This very complete project allowed me to intervene on the project at different scales and in different fields.

As well as the structural work 5concrete, structural elements) as the technical domain (house entirely equipped with domotics, professional kitchens, fitness rooms, spa, home cinema, electronics, elevator, privalite) but also on the interior design domain (interior design, design of the furniture, the joineries, doors, materials, lights, furniture, sanitaries) and on the exterior design (landscape, design of the garden and the spaces of entertainment, poolhouse, etc).

At this day, this project is still under construction and will be delivred in july 2023.
