ISO Spaces is an award-winning, innovative company that designs, manufactures and installs bespoke modular buildings from recycled shipping containers. Since creation in 2014 the company has worked with a variety of clients including Jeep, Box-park & Fevertree.

Our designers

Here at ISO Spaces we have an award winning in-house team who work with shipping container design on a daily basis. Our dedicated design and manufacturing team understand the structural implications of working with shipping

containers. They will work with you to produce high quality 3D visualisations to see exactly what your idea will look like. Taking into consideration all aspects of the build from construction to transportation and delivery, the team will ensure your project is constructed to a high quality, premium standard. Be assured that our team will support you through all stages of development, underpinning a smooth and efficient project delivery.

Our manufacturers

We engineer and manufacture our containers in our own factory.

We have several years experience in converting shipping containers and have an in-house team of engineers, fabricators, welders, carpenters and fitters at our factory in Cornwall. We also work closely with local electricians, plumbers, suppliers and hauliers to take your project from concept to completion anywhere in the world. The majority of our projects are completed off-site in our factory and delivery can be arranged to your location.

Why containers?

Shipping containers are produced to be adaptable, secure and resilient. We manufacture with one trip containers which means they are in great condition and can last up to 20 years with regular maintenance. Each of our projects is bespoke and the cost of our units vary depending on the specification. Shipping container conversions can prove to be an affordable build option and are hugely adaptable to a huge variety of uses.

Bespoke

Shipping containers can be adapted to many uses and we can work with you to make sure the design suits all your needs and requirements.

Security Each container is fully secure, options include lockable barn doors, anti-vandal glass with roller shutters and remote controls for hydraulic operated equipment.

Power A container can be run off a generator or plugged in straight to the mains.

Branding Shipping containers are easy to brand up. They can be painted in any RAL colour with vinyl logos applied, or entirely vinyl wrapped with a photograph, graphic or logo.

Transport The UK transport network has been designed to cater for the transport of containers. Containers can be easily transported on the back of a lorry, enabling flexibility. Versatile Due to the nature of the shipping container, they are very versatile, and can be used for a wide range of applications; from homes to shopping malls, bars to restaurants and even swimming pools. Modular There are multiple combinations and design possibilities when using containers; enabling flexibility in staging the implementation of projects, scalable in the medium or long term. Adaptable to location Having been designed with a view to optimise logistics, it can be adapted to practically any location or setting.

Sizes

Here at ISO Spaces we work with three different sizes of container. The smallest; 10ft containers are great for pub beer gardens as an additional food servery or bar. 20ft containers are perfect as small transportable retail or events units as well as catering or bar offerings. 40ft containers are the largest size and work best for larger scale or more permanent housing and retail projects. Different containers can be joined to create larger spaces.

Hydraulic opening sides Hydraulic openings can be added to the containers to create larger surface areas and can be deployed at the push of a button.

Side opening doors Side opening containers can easily be converted for quick deployment and activation.

Hatch options Opening hatches can be integrated which open with gas strut supports.

Glazed walls/doors Installing glass bi-fold /sliding doors increases natural light within the container opens up the space.

Roof terrace Roof terraces are a great way to increase the usable space of containers and provide even more visibility of your brand.

Stackable Shipping containers are stackable and can be built up to three storeys high.

Our process

Working with us is a lot like hiring the services of an architect. We can do as little or as much of the process as you require, we can work with your brief to design your ideal unit, we would then produce manufacturing drawings and build the unit for you all in house using trusted sub-contractors for any specialist works. We have sound knowledge of working to meet building and fire regulations and can give expert guidance throughout the process.

Bars

Eis Haus | Portable 2x40ft + 1x20ft Shipping Containers This bar was created for our client EIS Haus and is the worldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s first portable container ice bar. The two 40ft units are staggered which creates a flow from the reception area to the interior ice bar. A roof terrace was built above the entrance for use by a DJ and an additional 20ft side opening bar unit was provided to serve further customers outside.

This container bar has been designed carefully to be in keeping with the company branding. We used reclaimed wood to create a natural, rustic feel and integrated it with the industrial container profile.

2x20ft Shipping Containers with roof terrace Drinks brand Fever-Tree commissioned us to design and build a large G&T container bar. This structure encompasses two 20ft containers which are joined together. This enabled us to create a large roof terrace with easy access, seating and parasols. The side opening front container allows full bar service potential, with a retractable awning and the side opening doors being used to hang menus . The back container is used only for storage.

Tribal Clash | Portable The Tribal Clash container is a portable sports event unit containing a DJ booth with hatch and an internal shop selling merchandise. An external desk was also provided and a roof terrace was fixed to the top of the container to increase the surface area. To fit with the existing brand, a large vinyl was applied to the front of the container creating a dynamic effect.

1x20ft Shipping Container The latest addition to Boxpark in Shoreditch is this acoustic stage for their Sunday Busk the Box sessions, recycled from a 20ft shipping container! The hydraulic deck allows them to transform from securely locked container to a spacious stage, all at a press of a button.

Havwoods academy | Northampton 2x40ft Shipping Containers This project for Havwoodâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s flooring specialists was designed to become a training academy for a series of courses. The structure is split into two sections; the workshop (38 m2) and classroom (17.5 m2). This design includes design features such as crittal style doors and Velux flat roof windows with integrated remote controlled blinds. The use of exterior clad container ensures the container is in keeping with the current Havwoods brand.

2x20ft Shipping Containers This maritime themed teaching space was a bespoke design for the Sea Sanctuary. Two joined 20ft Shipping containers create the basis of this large open plan space on the river front in Falmouth, Cornwall.

Eden Project ice cream parlour | St Austell 1x20ft Shipping Container This 20ft side opening container has been converted into an ice cream parlour and is located at The Eden Project in Cornwall. The unit fits in with the Eden Projects eco friendly ethos using recycled materials thought. External branding boards have been added and additional awnings provide shelter for customers.

1x40ft + 3x20ft Shipping Container Originally converted from two joining containers (20ft & 40ft), this is Coffi Co’s quirky coffee shop located in Cardiff Bay. The bi-folding glass doors allows the space to completely open up and extend the internal space. In addition to the original containers, another 2x20ft’s have been added on-site to expand this successful business.

Modular housing unit | Manchester Home Show 2x40ft Shipping Containers This project was commissioned by Snoozebox to create two studio flats as a prototype for a much larger scale development in both social and affordable housing. The project was built by ISO Spaces and co-produced with QED. This turn-key housing solution is comprised of two 40ft shipping containers. Although compact, the floor area covers a total floor area of 56m2.
