It drew our attention for its quaint cafes, vibrant flea markets, some of Goa’s most renowned restaurants, alongside both popular and undiscovered beaches of Goa, all located only minutes away from our chosen spot. The new international airport located just 40 minutes away is an added bonus — making getting in and out of Goa a complete breeze!
Sharing a border with the well-known village of Assagao, this peaceful inland village is somewhere that is ideal for both solitude seekers and vacation lovers. It’s a fine balance of nature, luxury and everything in between. If you want to disconnect without feeling like you really have, this is where you need to come home to.

ABOUT THE PLOT
MASTER PLAN
In architecture, it is as if you were inspired by an emblematic work from another space-time and placed it somewhere unconnected with the original roots of the work-style.
When we saw the piece of land, we were instantly awestruck by its sheer vastness. Approximately 3400 sqm of land mirroring the charm and sanctity of the village of Arpora, lay before us. Flooded with natural light, and bookended between green spaces, we knew from here the most stare-worthy views of forest fields and glamorous mountains, present on both sides, would come to life.
This plot was meant to be a place where dream homes are made. Even in its bareness, it reflected Goa’s way of life in every sense. Without disturbing its inherent beauty, we adapted to its contours.

The placement and form of buildings in relation to their sites, the distribution of spaces within buildings, and other planning are fundamental elements in the aesthetics of architecture.
Within this gated plot of land, you will find three beautiful villas that exude Isprava’s signature aesthetic in both architecture and landscape, while also inspired by the grandeur of Arpora’s natural beauty. Two of the homes — Villa Arcelia and Villa Alma sit on a lower contour, overlooking lush forest fields, from where the sun rises admits a balayage of greenery, while the third villa is perched on a higher contour, on the side of the mountains, promising the most memorable sunset views.

The problem of developing a mountainous complex region is studied with the aim of developing the planning structure of residential units and the development of settlements, taking into account local climatic features of the terrain. Based on the study of the orographic relief structure, there was determined a classification of the relief in terms of form, types of planning structure of settlements, types of planning schemes for building up, as well as the structure of the dwelling depending on the indices of natural and climatic discomfort

In the making of Villa Sonrisa, we have used local and indigenous materials as the chief building blocks — stone and laterite, along with wood, metal and varied styles and patterns of tiles. The focal point of the overall design was ornamentation, which evolved in a beautiful and impactful way as we put the pieces of our vision to reality. Portuguese and Indian architecture were strong inspirations throughout the process of bringing this villa to life.
