Welcome message from Director of Music I’m very excited to welcome you all to The International School of Samui’s very first Primary Music Recital. Over the course of this term, students enrolled in our flourishing private music programme have been busy working towards a very challenging objective. That objective was to not only choose a piece of music to practice but to learn it to a standard that was high enough to perform. Today’s recital is an exhibition of what committed, disciplined and consistent practice can be achieved and we hope that you will all enjoy the result of this hard work as much as the performers will. Furthermore i trust that this recital will inspire our students to further develop their potential and later become part of that invaluable fraction of humanity; the fraction that creates and fills the world with great music! Aria Moore
Aria is one of our Piano and Vocal coaches who you may have heard performing around the island over the years. Aria has a remarkable musical history, having been educated at the Russian Tchaikovsky Institute as well as teaching at the Moscow College of Music.
Jaymie Wunderlich
Jaymie is an impressive multi-instrumentalist who is able to teacher a whole range of musical instruments including Piano, Vocals, Drums, Brass and Wood Wind. A piano player from the age of six, Jaymie then went on study at the Royal Conservatory of Music Repertoire, giving her the talents she hones today and shares enthusiastically with all her students.
Rick Montembeault
Rick, is an accomplished Guitar, Bass and Ukulele teacher who has been a fixture in the Samui Live Music scene for over a decade. He also performs regularly with his band “Flow” and “Samui All Stars”. At ISS he gives our students and music department a refreshing “Rock Star” feeling, always encouraging his students to explore the more contemporary areas of music.
Dan Gubbins
Dan is our Director of Music and seeks to deliver a dynamic, impassioned and multi-layered curriculum of music to all students at ISS. He has had 15 years of experience working in the world of Music, from being a marketing director at one of the UK’s largest independent record labels, to being a writer, performer and teacher of music for nearly a decade now.
