1. How do I become a VIP Member?

Very easy to do, all that's required is call or email No.8 Tours with a request to become a member. We then register your details on the Database and post you our catalogue. Your travelling companion will also receive the VIP member pricing even though they aren't yet a member. If they would like to become a member as well, please let us know, or they can contact us directly.

2. How far in advance should I make my reservation?

We encourage you to make your reservation as early as possible - mainly if you are limited to a specific period in which you can travel. Multi-day tours tend to fill quickly.

3. Do I need to pay a deposit?

Deposits are required on booking to confirm your reservation; however, you can make a provisional booking without a deposit. If we are holding your provisional booking and someone else would like to take it, you may be asked to release it or commit by way of deposit. In the past Members have been missing out, as bookings weren't confirmed by way of receipted deposit. "Provisional bookings" that have past the balance due date of the trip will be cancelled.

4. How many vouchers can I redeem towards a tour payment?

As a way of showing our appreciation for your custom No.8 Tours provides a complimentary $15.00 travel voucher automatically every time you take a multi-day tour with us. You can redeem this voucher on the next multi-day tour you book. Only 1 Voucher can be applied to overnight tours per person and will be taken off your final balance.

5. What is a Single Supplement?

A charge paid by a solo traveler to compensate a hotel for losses incurred due to only one person staying in a room. Most hotel rooms are built and priced under the assumption that at least two people will occupy them.

6. Why are single rooms more expensive?

The price per person for single occupancy is higher than the price per person for double occupancy. ... However, when two people travel together, the cost of the hotel room is divided between the two travellers, so the double occupancy fare reflects a lower rate for each.

7. Does No.8 Tours provide Travel Insurance?

8. Can I request special dietary requirements?

We can request special dietary requirements for the meals throughout the tour, the details of which will be passed onto the suppliers; however, we can't guarantee that the suppliers can always do this.

9. Can I request special room requirements?

No.8 Tours reserves' Studio Rooms' that includes 1 large double bed or 2 separate beds. Special requests that are different to this will be sent to the accommodation provider; additional costs can sometimes occur and will be passed on.

10. Can I change my flights that are part of the tour?

If you would like to cancel a flight included in your tour you can. Air NZ will charge a small fee to do this, as flights are pre-booked well in advance. Additional private flights pre and post-tour is by way of your own arrangement.

11. Where is the Free Door to Door Pick Up service from? a. Bay of Plenty

No.8 Tours provides a free home collection and drop off service around the wider Tauranga Area, this being from Waihi Township through to Te Puke.

b. Auckland, Christchurch & Hamilton (overnight only)

No.8 Tours provides a free home collection service based on your postal code. A full list is available on our website, or please check with the office. Please note we reserve the right to use our discretion for the free pick up service outside of these regions. A request for this service will be worked through on a case by case basis.

12. International Inbound Travelers

13. How do I earn Airpoints with No.8 Tours?

You can earn Airpoints with No.8 Tours when travelling on Air New Zealand Flights throughout New Zealand and Internationally, except for Great Barrier & Chatham Island Tours. Please contact us and register your Airpoints Number, we will add it into your Member Profile. We then provide this to Air New Zealand each time you fly with No.8 Tours.

14. How do I redeem Airpoints with No.8 Tours?

You can use your Airpoints to pay for any Air New Zealand Flights that are part of a No.8 Tour. * Please note you will require enough Airpoints to cover the cost of the whole flight. Air New Zealand can't provide part payment of flights under their group booking rules.

15. Do I have luggage limits?

Yes, we do have limits. 23 kgs for your main suitcase and 7 kgs for your carry-on bag. Your carry-on bag should be small enough to fit in the overhead luggage racks. When packing, please be aware that not all accommodation has portage service; however, we are happy to assist if required.

16. Do you rotate seats on the bus?

No.8 Tours does operate a daily seat rotation.

17. What Should I pack?

New Zealand has ever-changing weather conditions. Please pack for all seasons. Suggestions are as follows: Tidy-casual clothing, light raincoat, comfortable flat shoes, swimming costume, Small umbrella, sunglasses, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, torch, camera + video camera, gold coins for laundry, proof of ID, Gold Card, cellphone (if applicable), personal medication.
