Powerful collaboration for ‘Model Factory

Bursa Uludag University (BUU) will provide academic support to the project of the SME Efficiency Training Center (Model Factory) to be established under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO).

The project will be guided by the BTSO, which has paved the way for value-added production, competitiveness and export-oriented projects for the Bursa Industry. BTSO Chairman Ibrahim Burkay and BUU Rector Professor Yusuf Ulcay signed a protocol which envisage a cooperation between BTSO, BUÜ and BUTEKOM (Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Center). The academics working at Uludag University will give scientific support for the ongoing projects as well.

BUU initiates the scientific support to the projects Speaking at the signing ceremony held at ULUTEK Building, BUU Rector Professor Yusuf Ulcay stated that they give great importance to the cooperation between industry and university within the scope of their 3rd generation university studies from science to production, from production to economy. He said, “One of the priority tasks of the universities is to prepare joint projects with the industrial sectors. As Bursa Uludag University, we are sensitive to the demands of business representatives in our city. In this context, we consider the Model Factory Project of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry as very a crucial one. We are happy to be present in the scientific and academic leg of this project, which will make a serious contribution to the Industry 4.0 applications of our city. We believe that the works to be carried out at this center will also guide our economy. We would like to thank Mr. Ibrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BTSO, once again for the contributions to the future vision of the city.”

“Bursa model will increase productivity in industry” BTSO Chairman Ibrahim Burkay noted that” (BUTEKOM) has gained a new identity through the works of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) aims to reduce foreign dependency with the laboratory accreditation certificate obtained from Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) regarding the test processes of the companies.” “While BUTEKOM is taking firm actions in terms of contribution to the qualitative growth of the sectors it also adds more power to R&D studies of companies especially which operates in automotive, textile, composite and chemistry sectors. BUTEKOM serves with its 13 thousand square meter complex, pioneering the innovation-oriented growth of the textile sector through the Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center.” He also added, “Our Center will produce a significant awareness of the companies in the Industry 4.0 transformation. Bursa Model Factory, which we will provide practical training and consultancy services, will play an important role in improving our enterprises' efficiency.”
