Fourball or Better Ball
This is the most basic format of the game of golf, one player against the other. Total strokes for the round are not considered; winning each hole is the goal.
Commonly known in the United States as Better Ball, Fourball competition involves one two-man team competing directly with a second two-man team. Each player plays his own ball and the overall score of each pair (rather than individuals) decides the outcome of the hole.
Foursome Alternate Shot Frequently referred to as Scotch Foursomes in the United States, this is alternate shot play in pairs. The first player on the two-man team hits from the tee, the second player on the team hits the next shot, the first player then hits the third shot and so on, until the ball is in the hole. Players on each team alternate drives, regardless of who sank the putt on the preceding green.

About Minneapolis
Minneapolis Weather
Hazeltine National Golf Club is located to the south-west of the city of Minneapolis and is approximately 25 miles from Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport.
Situated on the Mississippi River, Minneapolis is home to 20 lakes and wetlands, gaining it the title of ‘the City of Lakes’. Nature lovers will enjoy a stay here, with some 170 parks making it a very green city.
The weather in Minneapolis during September and October is similar to our own autumnal climate, though thankfully a few degrees warmer, with average temperatures ranging between 12-18ºC. Generally the weather is largely dry, but the occasional breeze can make it feel quite cool, especially in the evenings. To ensure comfort while watching the Ryder Cup action unfold, clients are advised to pack layers of thin clothing and a light jacket.
With hotel options available both in the centre of Minneapolis and surrounding the golf club, clients will have a choice of accommodation that ranges from 3-star to 5-star luxury.
B O O K
If ultra-modern is more your thing, you needn’t fear; contemporary architecture abounds and there is an abundance of excellent restaurants and art houses offering a huge choice of leisure activities by day and night.

Thursday 29 September On Thursday morning you’ll be driven from your hotel to Hazeltine National Golf Club to see the action commence with a full practice day. Will the rookies lead the way or will the experienced heads provide the knowledge and performance to secure the points? A day of pressure, and you will be there to watch it all unfold! After the close of play, stay to witness the 2016 Ryder Cup Trophy Presentation. Can Team Europe do it again? On this last day of play, you’ll again be transferred back your hotel to enjoy one more evening in Minneapolis before your flight home, or your onward journey if you have chosen to extend your holiday.
