R E N E W YO U R ‘ I D O ’ Thanks to its stunning setting and romantic offerings, Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort is a popular destination to reaffirm wedding vows and celebrate your marriage. We spoke to Andrea Millar who did exactly that in August 2016… “We’ve been married for 15 years and thought that was a nice amount of time to celebrate. We were staying at Jumby Bay for two weeks and decided that we’d keep the renewal of our vows – in the second week – as a surprise for our daughters. Lola is 9 and Poppy 5-years-old. I’m normally a bit of a control freak about organising these sort of things! But we left it all to the staff at Jumby to arrange, and I’m so glad we did. We really didn’t know what to expect, but we wanted it to be relaxed. The officiant taking the ceremony was fantastic – she really involved our daughters and kept calling them ‘our special witnesses’. She had such a sense of fun and kept the whole formal part of the day really relaxed, which was exactly what we wanted. The whole thing felt very ‘Caribbean’. Lighthearted but meaningful. What was so great was how flexible the resort was; they really will do whatever you want! And for what we experienced it was exceptional value. I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.”

RELAX IN STYLE Whatever your reason for travelling to Jumby Bay – whether a honeymoon, family holiday or perhaps even an excuse to watch the cricket – a treatment at Sense, A Rosewood Spa is a ‘must’ during your stay. Sympathetically designed to offer a truly Antiguan experience and inspired by the island’s sugar mill ruin, the spa experience is characterised by Rosewood’s guiding philosophy, A Sense of Place. Inside there are five personal spa suites, with a special duet suite perfect for couples to enjoy the ‘treatments for two’. Each has a relaxation terrace so you can kick back and enjoy the view of the Caribbean Sea following your spa therapy. To give a true ‘Sense of Place’, your indulgent experience will include ingredients native to the island, such as bamboo, Nautilus shells,

lemongrass and ginger. Not only that, but the environment in which the treatment takes place is also incorporated, such as during a Jumby Signature Ritual which begins at the Water Fowl Sanctuary, a natural habitat for exotic wildlife, where you will experience 30 minutes of meditation before your signature massage and facial back at the spa. For an extra special experience, ask your ITC Travel Specialist to pre-book a massage treatment in a hammock (yes, really!) or how about the Castaway Experience – where you will sail aboard the resort’s private yacht to the uninhabited shores of Maiden Island for a picnic lunch and a side-by-side massage for two, followed by champagne. Younger guests have also been considered, with a mini-spa for those over 9-years-old, and beauty treatments from 4-years-old.
