For those looking for a more remote experience, fly further north to Ivalo or Kittilä where a short drive from the airport delivers unending Lappish wilderness. Here, isolation plays a part in providing the ideal conditions for aurora viewing, and the endless snow-covered landscapes are best explored by snowmobile or dog sled.
