Love

My darling son Jawara, you came into my life on the 9th of March, 1978. You brought love, joy, laughter and immense pride to my life. You learnt to spell your name aged three, and by four would sing; “Jawara Orlando Gray, Stylie Gray.” You made your own songs and had a beautiful voice. Your first nine years of life in Jamaica birthed in you a love for the island that remained with you throughout life and it was no surprise that you chose to get married there and wanted to dedicate your life to helping children there. “Juxxy” I won’t come home anymore and see the TV on the sports channel, or see that you had the dinner I left in the fridge. I won’t hear the door open and a big voice shout “Mudder Jaffrey” because I will have you with me always, in my heart, in my thoughts, and in my dreams. I will see your beautiful face smiling back at me...

We spoke so much in the last two weeks and I am assured that you are in a better place. I take with me your words in my Mother’s Day card: “Trust God that everything will fall into place.” Rest well my precious son. See you at Tinglayas later on… Love always, Mum

My dear son! I miss you so much It keeps hurting, I can’t stop crying My eyes always search for you in the sky Heart longs for finding you in heaven My dear son! I love you so much I feel so empty without you I am so scared of my future without you Heart longs for being around you for my safety My dear son! You are my angel I still feel that you are caring for me from above I tell my broken heart that you are still watching me Heart longs for your care even from heaven My dear son! I was thinking I gave you life The reality is that you had given me life Without you and your presence, I can’t exist I long for your company in my heart, on that I insist. Please be there in my heart. -Poem by Ambika Adhikari Tiwari

Jawara was a peace loving, caring, and conscious individual who had a genuine care for building and uplifting his community.

Why We Jawara...

My soul he doth restore again, And me to walk doth make Within the paths of righteousness, E’en for his own name’s sake. Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, Yet will I fear no ill: For thou art with me, and thy rod And staff me comfort still. My table thou hast furnished In presence of my foes; My head thou dost with oil anoint And my cup overflows. Goodness and mercy all my life Shall surely follow me; And in God’s house for evermore My dwelling-place shall be.

Jawara and Nicola, the love of his life were married on 28th August 2013 after being together for nearly 16 years. The happy couple honymooned in Jamaica.

“No one word for the pain, the longing, the brevity Of a life meant for living; an old soul meant to grow older than mine; Would there be any one price too high, any sacrifice too great, For one more moment, one more breath, one more warm touch; I grasp desperately and sense the closeness the ONE just at the fingertips of my heart and mind, Only to realise again and again and again, There is no “One” - you are gone and I am - less.” - Cheryl McDonald

Dear Uncle Juxxy Thank you for being such a great uncle, and teasing me all through my childhood, giving me nuff jokes and loving me. “Man a work for da credit union.”We will forever treasure the joy that you brought to us.
