Bay View Inn is a hospitality building which located in San francisco, CA. It is to the north-east of the city, and south-west to the San Francisco Bay. It has several advantages to attract visitors in terms of the scenic view and the accessibility. Two main strategies will be utilized throughout the entire project ; 1. To maximize the benefits of day-lighting. 2. To maintain thermostatic within the building in a sustainable way.

strategies
- Provide best scenic views for hotel rooms, restaurant. - Reduces noices for hotel rooms and restaurant, and work space for staff. - Allow natural light into the lobby space and swimming pool. - Prevent direct sunlight into the hotel rooms. - Reduce heat gain during summer, and prevent heat loss in winter.

Buoyancy
concept development
The principle of buoyancy holds that the buoyant or lifting force of an object submerged in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid it has displaced. The concept is also known as Archimedes's principle, after the Greek mathematician, physicist, and inventor Archimedes (c. 287-212 B.C. ), who discovered it. Applications of Archimedes's principle can be seen across a wide vertical spectrum: from objects deep beneath the oceans to those floating on its surface, and from the surface to the upper limits of the stratosphere and beyond.

Thermal comfort - Due to more natural light is brought into the space, resulting more heat gain, it can be cooled off by the green roof tops

Green roof 1. Green roof lowers heat gain. By providing vegetation on certain part of the roof allows reduction in heat and energy consumption in any weather condition. 2. Retain rainwater - water is stored by the substrate and then taken up by the plants from where it is returned to the atmosphere through transpiration and evaporation. 3. Help to insulate a building for sound; the soil helps to block lower frequencies and the plants block higher frequencies

exterior analysis
Recycled carbon fiber - recycled carbon fiber is partially applied to the westside of the structure in order to prevent the cold front of the west prevailing wind.
Low E glass - low - emissivity glass conducts visible light while controlling the passage of heat. This glass is an energy efficient way to control the heat being allowed in and out of an environment.
Large exterior glazing are used throughout the structure in order to guide natural light into the interior space.
