Industrial Design students at Eindhoven University of Technology Semester B2.2 ‐ 2nd year Project ‘Design for Electric Driving’ February – June 2010 Coached by Jan Rouvroye Now seen as group; but in fact we work on an individual project PresenLng our individual objecLves
Ivan Martello ObjecLve:
Vehicle The main study field is the driver’s seat and the interacLon when driving. The tasks that have place in the driver’s seat and the possibility of customizing them.
Guidelines: How to communicate; throw design, the purpose of technology inside the car? How the new boundaries purchased by technology can change the vehicle’s structure and appeal? How the interacLon can shape new approaches and generate new forms?
Terence Nelson ObjecLve:
Charging points Represent the values of electric driving in the shape, material and interacLon of the charging points.
• What kind of charging points are needed to ensure maximum mobility for electric cars: At home; Along the road; Public parking. • Values of electric driving
Marleen van der Wiel ObjecLve:
CommunicaAon
Car – Driver – Charging staLons The exchange of informaLon between the above menLoned parLcipants, to bring the driver more control and comfort with the charge and charging of the car.
• awareness of energy use and availability • informaLon about charging staLons • controlling charging process • interface design

Steering with light With digital systems as Driving by-wire, is possible to read an analog input pin and map the results. The light in the steering wheel is the display for this data. domingo 20 de junio de 2010
Regenerative Braking
The regenerative braking system is activated on the steering wheel and shows the quantity of energy regenerated.
