1. Baria Albrecht After a lifetime of serving farming purposes, two structures become a remote asylum for a couple in love and their dog.
wohnhaus + atelier Cazis, Graubuenden 2021-2022 responsibility: concept,BIM, visualisations
B
aria Albrecht is the name of the remote plot of land in the municipality of Cazis, Graubuenden. This farmhouse and a stable were originally built as a gift from a wealthy landlord to one of his seven sons. It has switched many owners during the last century and now it is ready to settle down as an all-year-round housing for a couple seeking peace and quietness. Neither local regulations, nor budget allows significant changes to the original structures. Therefore, the architectural intervention becomes a careful restoration with conservation of the weak elements, removing the unnecessary and creating new ones - for the sake of better life quality. Moreover, the project becomes a DIY instruction for the client, who wishes to take a major part in the process of reconstruction works.

´ 2. Погорелое Городище [Burnt Fortress]
A hideaway in the middle of a Russian field. Not yet a house, already not a shed. A place to enjoy nature and youth.
leisure pavilion Tver region, Russia 2019-
T
he pavilion is located in a pure Russian field and represents a universal leisure space: one can relax in the house, meditate in the chamber flower yard, take a walk on the platform or observe the territory from the viewing platform. An open circle as seen on the plan creates simultaneously a private territory, yet leaves the connection between the yard and the outer world. Pointed seven-meter roof is a tall dominant, whereas the technique of burning decks brings complex the character of a construction destroyed by fire. Only upon entering one can realise the discrepancy: if on the outside he saw a damaged, forgotten structure - on the inside there is life in full swing.

3. Kemeri Visitor Center A metamorphic building standing on the boundary to the biggest Latvian bog
visitor center Kemeri, Latvia 2018
T
he competition project in Kemeri National Park is the visitor center and the entry field surrounding it. The site is surrounded by a dense pine forest, it is almost completely plane and is pierced with just one pathway. When one enters the meadow, one sees a typical vernacular building with a sloped roof and made of timber. But as one starts getting closer, a peculiar metamorphosis is happening with the building. It morphs, reshapes, loses the space rationality and seriousness, spreads and starts letting air and light inside. The visitor center has two appearances, two personalities while remaining a single whole. The building is made of wood: a core made of glued timber frames and the decking made of silver discoloured aspen. The visitor center is effective in terms of vandalism since elevation decking could be easily replaced and windows and doors have shutters.

4. Minsk Depot A modern residential complex inheriting the genius loci of a former trolley depot. renderings by Sergey Skuratov Architects
residential complex Minsk, Belarus 2018-2019 responsibility: concept, model/3D, drawings
T
he residential complex is located in the very city centre of Minsk on the territory of the former tram depot. According to the task, the complex contains 57000 m2, a kindergarten, various commercial functions and underground parking. The thorough site and surroundings analysis revealed a solution, which fulfils the task and allows to bring comfortable living space onto the site. 21 buildings from 4 to 7 levels are scattered around the site, however, functions are separated by levels and included in stylobates. The infrastructure of the complex’s implements traditional Belarussian motifs, the abundance of greenery and water.

F
amous in Liechtenstein Heidegger garage gets one last chance to be reactivated before its demolition. One week of the program designed by architecture students from the University of Liechtenstein transformed this building into an experimental platform. The installation aims to show the path of exploring the space and extracting its unique properties by following the path of least resistance. One of the concept ideas was to design in situ - without an exact drawing of the installation. The final installation represents a whole room ready to be interacted with by different methods of influence: acoustic, visual, balance and movement.

6. Forest Office When the university is closed due to a pandemic, yet the weather is to good to stay at home - go to a forest.
outdoor workspace Vaduz, Liechtenstein 2020 Ivan Skibnevskiy, Patricio Sota
N
ature has an immensely positive impact on human’s psychology. A simple walk in a forest can increase mental health, help concentrate, boost imagination. Having such healing qualities, the forest in Vaduz inspired Patricio Sota and I to create a working station right in between the trees. The project was a natural response to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Having to switch to online education, we couldn’t stay inside and created ourselves an office. Using a simple tying technic, we delivered a set of dumped decks and logs and arranged them to a set of tables and platforms. Each of us had a particular workspace and we shared a common “terrace“. Nowadays, we barely ever visit the site and it slowly falls apart. We predicted this inevitable part of our project’s life, so we are not upset. Instead, we carefully document the decayed elements beeing reclaimed by nature.

Zürich, 02. März 2022
Letter of reference for Ivan Skibnevskiy Ivan Skibnevskiy, born 03 January 1995, from Moscow, Russia, worked at Office Haratori from november 1st 2021 to march 4th 2022, immediately after completing his Master's degree at the University of Liechtenstein from 2019 to 2021. Before he completed his Bachelor's degree at the Moscow Architecture Institute from 2012 to 2017. During these four months, a short but intensive period, he worked as a junior architect on the following project: 080 Baria Albrecht, Cazis, Graubunden; Transformation of a residential house and a stable. Ivan worked alone, developing concepts and strategies discussed directly with us. His first task was taking the existing structure measurements from the house and the stable and built a solid and precise state of plans in 3D Modell with Archicad. He was responsible for the complete drawing set and schemas. Ivan has collaborated on the design in all the process building from the studies till the design development (preliminary project) and also prepared visualizations in Photoshop for the client and for the meetings with the responsible authority for the building permit. In the last weeks Ivan worked further in a detailed step of the project preparing the concept for the windows and the insulation as well as the surfaces calculations. Last but not least, he prepared a set of drawings for the permit application. Ivan supported the whole team in the office through his professional knowledge in Archicad BIM and worked an organized the Archicad template for haratori. It was our pleasure to work with Ivan. With him we met a sensitive and dedicated architect as well as a cooperative partner. We wish Ivan all the best for the future and we look forward to following him further on his way.
