Since the pandemic has eased, there have been a lot of visits to our amazing destinations and we’re very glad to meet up with all of our beloved clients. Puerto Vallarta Sharing joy, one action at a time
IVI DMC Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit strives in its compromise to facilitate Corporate Social Responsibility activities at all times. One of the programs we are honored to support is Casa Hogar Manos de Amor por Bahia. Like any tourist community, it is a land of high contrasts, services, and amenities for tourism of high standards and frivolity. On the other hand, across the road, there is a cycle of poverty and need, which is very easy to ignore or overlook. In Mexico, unlike other parts of the world, social support programs or assistance to the population usually do not reach the ones who need it the most, so, initiatives like these are in the hands of private associations. Manos de Amor por Bahía, A.C. was founded due to the concern and goodwill of people truly committed to transforming people's lives, especially the most vulnerable and unprotected people, children.

Bucerías, Nayarit, is a community located in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. Its name originates as the "place of divers", a small town of about 20,000 inhabitants, among which the transit of Canadians, North American and Spanish stand out.

Manos de Amor is currently a children's shelter that supports the community, providing a safe, clean, and loving space for the children of the region, who do not have the opportunity to have their own space in which to develop.
They offer them a space where they can carry out their studies, have nutritious meals, and a space where they can develop outside of any violent or vulnerable environment. They also carry out extracurricular activities that extend their development through art, music, and English language learning classes. Manos de Amor for more than 16 years has given children an opportunity a refuge where they can have a home, and this has been achieved through a team of volunteers, workers, and people with social commitment whose sole objective is to pave a way for children to have better opportunities in their lives. Donations (economical or material) and, of course, time voluntarily dedicated by companies, are most welcome. Manos de Amor believes that there is no better social equalizer than education, and part of this education is teaching children to share, which is why Manos de Amor also plays a role within the community, distributing food to low-income families in the area twice a week. As we all know, these last couple of years have been overwhelmingly challenging due to Covid-19. It has made it very difficult to generate resources that allow them to continue their social work, although there is a couple of fundraising events held by the children's shelter. Imperial Dade CSR Imperial Dade left a mark on the kids at Casa Hogar Manos de Amor por Bahia, AC, during the Western Paper Distributors Program. They built bicycles for twenty-two of the boys and girls of the shelter home. It was so great to see everyone genuinely hands-on. With the generous donation of the Morris Family Charitable Fund, in addition to the bikes, various rooms from the shelter home were stocked, cookware items were purchased, and more. Notably, Farmacias PV also contributed to this activity by providing the bicycles at a reduced cost.

Mexican Caribbean Playing an important role, IVI DMC contributes to the local community through its various CSR projects. The outdoor projects are the Organic Harvesting Program and the Rainwater Harvesting Program. The indoor CSR projects are Making Piñatas, Operation Backpack, Back to Childhood, Making Mexican Candy, Sustainable Bike Building, Cancer Awareness Bracelets, and Saving the Reef.

One of the outdoor CSR project options is to endorse The Organic Harvesting Program in The Mayan Area. For over a decade, the MEER (Mayan Environmental Education & Research) Center has provided environmental education workshops, social aid, empowerment, and support for local families, foreign students, scientists, and visitors. The MEER works with over 12 communities with permanent follow-up on more than 14 programs, all aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The SFPP (Sustainable Food Production Program) consists of supporting a Mayan village to learn permaculture techniques and increase the yield of their community crops and family backyard gardens. The program aims to promote families and communities with self-sustaining activities to provide for their needs through skilled work in the fields, where they can grow their food, control pests, fertilize the soil with organic homemade tonics, and maximize the use of water.

In just 6 years, the Counting with a Friend Foundation has managed to serve children from marginalized areas of Playa del Carmen without adequate infrastructure and, to date, already has 4 classrooms, bathrooms and kitchen to serve the rising number of over 100 students from preschool to middle school. All this, only with the constant support of volunteers and the support of locals and visitors. The purpose of this activity is not just to create amazing memories for all participants but also allow visitors to learn about the local culture while sharing pleasure with local children of marginalized areas of Playa del Carmen. After a series of challenges, participants will finish a pre-assembled piñata to be donated for their next celebration as part of the foundation strategies to keep the children motivated to keep studying. Another indoor CSR project option is Saving the Reef. A direct support at the Mesoamerican reef barrier. We work hand in hand with Oceanus A.C; a non-profit organization that generates information and strategies for the conservation of natural resources and promotes citizen participation among institutions and communities, through its reef restoration program, with the aim of promoting and implementing tangible actions for the conservation of marine-coastal ecosystems in Mexico. The Acropora restoration program developed by Oceanus, A.C. It has been a great initiative for restoring the reefs, with more than 47 thousand colonies transplanted in 8 strategic sites. Oceanus A.C. seeks to achieve the goal of continuing to plant 10 thousand colonies annually.

The architecturally impressive SE Spa at Grand Velas Riviera Maya was inspired by the jungle and natural water pools of the Yucatan Peninsula. Mexican Architects Ricardo Elias and Alexis Elias of EliasElias AR preserved the stone, plants and streams native to the natural landscape and incorporated them into the curved, organic design of the two-level, 89,000+ square-foot spa.

New flight from Madrid to Los Cabos

A new flight between Los Cabos and Madrid will soon be a reality. Once a week, a flight from Madrid to Los Cabos will operate exclusively for leisure, family, adventure, honeymoon, and senior citizens with high purchasing power, as well as meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions, known as MICE. This was confirmed by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, along with Manuel Díaz Cebrián, Director of 110 Perceb LTD, and Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
