Message From Headquarters Dear reader, Are you considering a getaway along with your group to the Vallarta-Nayarit region? Then chances are you’re aiming for something out of the ordinary but with a welcoming, easy-to-explore vibe. And you’ll certainly find all that and much more in this long stretch of Mexico’s Pacific Coast. The region encompasses charming beaches, hilly jungles, and cultural towns, Vallarta-Nayarit is like a well-stocked spice cover: it abounds with different flavors for different types of travelers. From the iconic promenade in downtown Puerto Vallarta to whale-watching in Banderas Bay and the secluded, dramatic landscapes of Punta Mita, Vallarta-Nayarit has a profusion of choices that can be tailored to your group. The region is actually several destinations rolled into one, each with its own character and charm. The area lies on the same latitude as Hawaii, therefore having a perfect climate with an average temperature of 71ºF and very little rain. This combined destination is a sports lover’s paradise offering an endless array of outdoor adventures. The abundant marine life in the warm Pacific waters of Banderas Bay offer some of the best deep-sea sports fishing around. Those in search of even more adventure can go mountain biking, opt for a jeep safari, or try horseback riding. Let us amaze you! Sincerely, Jose-Manuel (Manolo) GARCIA, CIS President

Puerto Vallarta Airport Will Be Remodelled Earmark US $8MM to remodel International Airport Gustavo Diaz Ordaz in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The purpose of this is to make for an easier and more comfortable travel experience for visitors, said the CEO of the Tourism Board of Puerto Vallarta, Agustin Alvarez. He also said that more and more visitors are coming to this destination, as shown by a 20% increase of domestic travellers and 10% of international travellers. The first works were made at the counters, ceilings, light system, security screening, sanitary modules, etc. which are already in operation. During the low season they will start other jobs such as installing a new air conditioning system, face lifting security, customs and other important areas to thus provide a greater passenger experience. The hotel occupancy in the first quarter of 2016 recorded 82.6% of the booking rooms, is another indicator of the good times Puerto Vallarta tourism is living, said the manager. Puerto Vallarta’s estimated occupancy for this summer is above 80%, with some weekends up to 100%.

The Customer is Always Right I would like to acknowledge Fernando Flores for his flawless execution and teamwork this week. He is a proactive thinker and does not wait to jump into action to assist in every way. He made every person that walked up to the desk feel like they were his first priority. He has a management type of style because he sees every detail and knows what to do in every situation. Instead of just sitting at the desk he would engage with the guest’s and direct them. I knew that by giving him any task that it would be completed above and beyond my expectations. He is friendly and I look forward to the next time we can work together. Ms. Jennifer M. Tejuino aTypical Drink From Jalisco The Mexican state of Jalisco is by far one of the most famous states in Mexico due to its culture and traditions. Destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara represent the grandeur of this place. To know more about Jalisco, let us tell you about a traditional and delicious drink, the pride of Jalisco people - the tejuino. What is its origin and how it is served? It is a handcrafted beverage made from corn which origin dates back a long time ago. Archeologists have found evidence of the tejuino processing in archeological sites in Jalisco. This delicious drink can be found throughout the state. On almost every corner, there are small wooden carts dedicated to the sale of this drink. Experts say that the word tejuino is of Nahuatl origin, as it derives from the word tecuin, which can be translated as beating. From the foregoing description, the tejuino is considered the "drink of the gods. It is made with masa dough, brown sugar, that is then fermented in a clay pot for 2 to 3 days. It is later served in a clay pot with ice to be served chilled. Some add cinnamon powder to enhance its flavor.
When visiting Mexico's Pacific coast do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this refreshing and delicious ancient beverage. An absolute delight to the senses!

How to Be Comfortable While Confined
Travel Tip: Take Slumber Gear
In addition to an inflatable neck pillow, you may want to consider taking eye shades if you want to sleep (these can also be used to discourage talkative seatmates). And take along earplugs either for sleeping or drowning out the engine sounds when you travel on the noisier, smaller, “puddle jumper” planes.
Travel Tip: Change Your Position
Move about the plane at least once every hour. This is good reason to ask for an aisle seat or na excellent excuse to climb over seatmates. Stand up and go to the restroom or find a place to stretch. If you are headed to the bathroom near the end of your flight, remember seat belt signs go on approximately thirty minutes before landing. Avoid the rush and long lines by using the facilities forty-five minutes or so before touchdown.
