By Overseer Talmadge Thomas City of Zion Church Recently i was driving my daughter around as I often do and the question came up as to what she wanted to eat. She replied that she wanted to go to Chic-Fil-A because it was her favorite place to eat for"fast food". Needless to say as it always seems to be the line was long and I'm thinking what have I gotten into? Then the Lord spoke to me in the Chic-Fil-A line and said"this is what the church has got to learn, drive through church"! Let me share with you what I saw. The greeters were ready to take your order when you pulled up. How often do we want guest to come to church, but when they come we are"getting ready" when we should be ready because we expected them to come? They greeted us with courtesy and excitement. How often do the people at church make you wish you had never come because
their attitude is so negative and fowl? The people who confess relationship with Christ must be"presence carriers" and not position holders! They didn't complain about the conditions. They were outside in the heat and yet they were on duty as if it were air conditioned. How many times do people of faith turn others off because they just complain all the time? Bishop L. Spencer Smith said"complaining is not a gift of the spirit. It is the revealer of someone who perhaps wants more than they are willing to work to see happen and blame others for it not happening". There were more than enough workers to take your order, but they didn't argue over who would get the next customer they knew the product would keep the people coming! Wow! Church family, we must have so much confidence in our product that we don't argue with other church family about who has the"best"church. The product we serve
cannot be the best preacher, personality, but it must be a Christ that can reach anybody, anywhere at anytime. The product we must push, promote and present is a Christ that is not a respecter of persons, there are no big churches or little churches only strong and weak ones. Finally, as I pulled to the window they knew my order, had it ready and presented it to me with enthusiasm and excitement and sent me on my way feeling like I mattered. I paid them and they gave me what I asked for. Church must deliver what we advertise! When people pull up to the church they should not wonder what they're going to get when they leave or what is going on inside. People need to leave better than when they came, with what they needed that day and feeling as if it mattered that they were there. Make sure that Chic-Fil-A doesn't outdo the local church. Command, seize and win your day!

Trinity Faith Tabernacle Hosts Annual Prayer Luncheon

Pastor Patrica Smith By Interfaith Gazette Staff Saturday is generally a relaxed, slowing down day for working families whether you are in town or out of town. But this was not the case at Trinity Faith Tabernacle on May 20th. It was a day where the women of Trinity chose to celebrate each other in a Prayer Luncheon that would leave a real spirited rest of the day for those in attendance. At the helm of steering the crowd into an opportunity to welcome in Shekinah or fellowship among sisters, was Sis. Brenda Mitchell, who kept the train running at a pace where no one in the room would feel left out or left behind. Sisterhood was truly in the room. As the women of Trinity prepared a meal for the attendees beyond delectable, all eyes were on the spread that had been so elegantly stretched in mirrored reflection that would welcome ones taste buds to reach deep for what was to come. In an effort to stay on course and not keep eyes on the meal prepared, the attendees embraced a prayer by Sis. Clara
Brock and a short praise and worship service that would usher in the spirit by Sis. Kira Brock. After spreading joy and entering into a spirit of unity and feeling welcomed at this point, Sis. Deitra McKinney shared a poem, entitled " A Woman's List" that left the crowd in aw with its content that sparked images of a striving yet successful woman. As the day progressed with anticipation, the Restoration Praise Dancers harmoniously blessed the attendees with a praise dance rendition that brought the crowd to its feet. In the exquisitely decorated lower corridor of Trinity, a voice resonated, FOOD IS BEING SERVED! This announcement was definitely the answer to the experience that all were getting ready to share in the extensive meal that had been readied for the attendees. And as the meal was served, the women provided eagerly and collectively, heartfelt dialogue from one table to the next. This would serve as a welcomed introduction for the speaker of the hour, Bishop Marjorie Holt, Ph. D., Publisher of the Interfaith
Gazette Newspaper, who spoke from the theme for the Luncheon: Reach Out and Touch Someone, taken from the scripture, "Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God", Romans 15:7. It was evident from the participants that this Luncheon was certainly a great way to spend a Saturday. Hats off to Pastor Patrica Smith and the women of Trinity Faith Tabernacle for a job well done. The fellowship also brought out other female Pastors who shared their day with the women of Trinity, Ass't Pastor Regina Shinaul of Mt. Sinai Church, Pastor Arlene Huckleby, of Amazing Grace AME Zion Church, and Pastor Ywopp of the Restoration In Praise Ministries. We congratulate Pastor Smith and the Trinity Faith Tabernacle Church for hosting an elegant, soulful, spirit filled Luncheon, God bless you!

The Toledo Threat Posed a Threat to the Grand Rapids Galaxy Right Down to the End! By Interfaith Gazette Staff On Saturday evening at Start High School, all roads were leaning in the direction of watching The Toledo Threat Women's Professional Basketball Team win another victory and win for the hometown fans. The Galaxy, from Grand Rapids, Mi. rallied their team to keep the heat on the Threat right down to the wire. The Threat's Coach Kamesha Hairston, kept the team moving ahead with back to back baskets in the first half which took the heat into the second half of the game furiously. As the Galaxy continued to rally their defense fervently against the Threat, the game never lost momentum with either team and scoring was repeatedly the goal of each team. As the Threat moved into the last 2 minutes of the game, both teams were facing fouls by several members of the teams. However, in the last few seconds of the game, Galaxy retained possession of the ball and made their way to the basket and garnered the two points that placed them in the lead. Shekinah Community Church Finds Joy in Fellowship By Interfaith Gazette Staff As the services on Sunday morning move into high gear, the saints of God at Shekinah Community Church move into a spirit of expectancy for what would prove to be a high time in the House of God. Shekinah Community Church on Alexis Rd. embodies a sense of just praising God and making deliberate efforts to engage in glorifying God from the beginning to the end of services. A spirit of expectation was sensed in the house of God through the elevation of praise and worship by the Praise Team and Musicians as well as the waving of hands and signals of satisfaction with head nodding and amens from the parishioners. One would gather after being a part of the service on this day, that this church is on their way to a great beginning in God. As you look around the congregation, it was noticeable that it is comprised of a few generations, some of which are youth of all ages. This Sunday several of the youth, who were being trained as Ushers, greeted

attendees at the door. The Pastor, Rev. Linwood R. Beale, made several responses about the youth in training, who were also dressed appropriately in their black and white Usher attire. As Pastor Beale moved into the Word of God, his message focused on exhorting the people of God to desire more of God, knowing that God is not a magician who turns tricks, that he wants to bless the people of God. He reminded the congregants that in spite of their past, God kept on blessing, even as all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. He encouraged each to know that they have the victory because of knowing Jesus. His sermon was connected to " I've Got The Victory". Shekinah Community Church in Northwest Toledo is alive and vibrant and welcomes Toledo to join them on Sunday at 12 Noon. It is located at 2200 W. Alexis Rd. (Across from Taco-Bell). The Threat was defeated by the Galaxy by 2 points. The final score was Galaxy 79 and Toledo Threat 77. role of Women in Ministry is to the Body of Christ. This is one of the reasons as to why the Women In Purple Service is paramount to the ministry at Searchlite. On this Saturday, they chose as the theme: " Healing Hearts and Mending Souls", taken from Acts 16:14-15, 40 verses. Women in attendance were asked to wear PURPLE, which is symbolic of the scripture and the woman of God known as LYDIA. In fact the scripture points to Lydia from Thyatira, one of the women who had gathered for prayer in Phillips, and a merchant of expensive purple cloth who worshipped
God. The Bible states that as she was in the presence of Paul listening to what he had to say, she accepted his words. Pastor Williams and the Women of Searchlite chose to honor women from the community who have made significant contributions to worthwhile endeavors. Some of which range from clergy, educators, lawyers, doctors, directors, executives, and many other professions. They selected as the Keynote Speaker for this year's service Rev. Grateful Tears Flow as Marginalized Mothers are Honored for Their Selfless Service
Gift and appreciation ceremonies bring women from the shadows into the spotlight at GFA-organized Mother's Day celebrations WILLS POINT, Texas, June 1, 2017 / Christian Newswire/ -- Thank-yous and simple gifts prompted tears of gratitude when hard-working women were publicly honored for their care for their families by GFA-supported (Gospel for Asia) workers. This was the first time these women had celebrated Mother's Day or had ever been acknowledged for their important role in a part of the world where women often carry most of the responsibility of raising their children, while being marginalized and overlooked for their great sacrifice. Local GFA-supported workers invited women from their surrounding communities to attend events where they were encouraged in their roles, told by their children how they were appreciated, and given gifts like flowers, plates, and clothing. Some participating children washed their mothers' feet as a cultural symbol of their respect and appreciation. "A mother plays a vital role in the development of her family," one GFAsupported leader told a group of mothers. commitment to caring for women as deserving of greater respect and honor. As the evening progressed, vendors lined the vestibule with goods and products second to none, that varied from baked goods, books, handbags and runway clothing. It was evident that the women were there on purpose for a purpose. They were sure of why they had assembled for the weekend to carry out the mission of " women moving ahead". As the evening forged ahead, women from all walks of life were plugging in to the power that was in the room. Praise and worship was conducted by Sis. Kimberly Johnson who led the congregants into jubilant songs, followed by a welcome from Pastor Carson. The Dance Ministry of Jerusalem Baptist Church, accompanied
by their Pastor Dr. Willie Perryman and Lady Monica Perryman, charted Praise N Motion that would linger throughout the night as the evening continued. The women had selected as their theme for the FLO, Prayer: JUST DO IT, taken from the scripture Matthew 7:7, which reads "ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be open unto you"! The steering of the ship for the evening presided by Officer Slay, also included words from her as a mother, regarding the evil of Human Trafficking, which is an atrocious ill nationwide and certainly facing us right here in our community of Toledo and surrounding areas. The Author of the book, THEY DON'T TELL, Lisa Gray, fashions the
myths and truths about Human Trafficking and visible signs when this is present in an individuals life. The Ms. Gray was unable to attend on this evening but is being rescheduled to come back to the Toledo area and discuss her book. The preached word for the evening was in the hands of Bishop Marjorie Holt, Ph. D. of MLH Ministries and Publisher of the Interfaith Gazette Newspaper. The focus was on "encouraging the women of Southern to JUST DO IT, by any means necessary to become whom God has made you to become. Be willing to walk out of your comfort zone. Remind yourself that what God has given you as a woman is valuable on your way to becoming , knowing that God has the confidence in

As she ministered to the women, she spoke to their hearts and minds to let go and let God mold them for his use, realizing that DESTINY, A place of victory, is their destination and has their name attached to it". Sis. Gloria Latimer, shared words of gratitude for those who had spent the evening with the women of Southern. Bishop Holt shared the blessing for the rest of the services that would take place during the weekend on Saturday with a Style Show and Luncheon , and on Sunday at 11:00 AM, with Guest Psalmist Tracey Sheares and Speaker First Lady Veronica A. Hubert from Thankful Baptist Church, Detroit, Mi. The evening ended with dinner in the reception hall. All services were held at Southern. Pastor Roger D. Carson, Jr. commendations on a great blessing that you and the women of Southern were to all of us. We celebrate you!

Among those touched by the gesture was a 45-year-old mother who said: "All these years I have never received such kind of honor from my children, but today I feel proud and happy in my heart." One girl who attended one of the events said that she had not known it was Mother's Day. "But after attending the program I realized how much we need to be thankful to our mother," she said. "Thank you so much for inviting me to this program." "Small gestures, like thank-yous and gifts on Mother's Day, can go a long way to giving people the dignity and respect they deserve," said Yohannan. "We believe God made everyone of value and worth, regardless of their situation in life. We are glad to have been able to express his love and care to some of those whose selflessness can so often be overlooked or taken for granted." GFA (Gospel for Asia) has - for more than 30 years - provided humanitarian assistance and spiritual hope to millions across Asia, especially among those who have yet to hear the Good News. Last year, this included more than 75,000 sponsored children, free medical services for more than 180,000 people, 6,000 wells drilled, 11,000 water filters installed, Christmas presents for more than 400,000 needy families, and spiritual teaching available in 110 languages in 14 nations through radio ministry.
