States how personal strengths and challenges affect academic performance When asked to identify how strengths/challenges impact his/her academic performance, student accurately identifies one or more ways (e.g., difficulty staying on task makes it hard for me to get work done, my strong memory for detail makes it easy to remember science facts). PROBE Ask student, “How does (insert answer from question 1) affect your school work? How does (insert answer from question 2) affect your school work?” ADDITIONAL PROMPT: “You said (insert answer from question 1) is something you are really good at, how do you show your teachers and friends that when you are in class or doing your homework? You said that (insert answer from question 2) is something that is really hard for you, how does that make being in class/doing your homework difficult?” NOTES:
