Thank you for making a difference!

We were truly honored by all of the support that poured forth to make our signature fundraiser a success. This year’s event was coined Paradise Island reboot 2.0, because our 2020 event had to be canceled. While we were hoping to host our 2021 fundraiser in person, it was not God’s plan for this year. Thankfully, we already had a strategy in place and had access to all the tools necessary to go virtual. In order to host a successful virtual event, we redesigned how and when our specialty auctions and raffle were held. Thanks to our mobile bidding platform, we were able to sprinkle our auctions throughout the year and our raffle went 100% virtual. We are deeply grateful to our volunteers, faculty and staff, parents, students, sponsors, angels, donors, and auction donors who helped make our virtual event a success. And all thanks goes to Jesus, the Incarnate Word, who was our guide and held our hands so that no difficulty could move us. He led us forth to do the work necessary to achieve our goals for our precious Angels. We look forward to celebrating Paradise Island with you all in person next year!

THE IMPACT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES Proceeds from Paradise Island benefit every student on campus and provide immediate resources directed to several key areas, including: • • • • • •

And that’s a wrap! The pandemic presented us with many challenges that required us to look at our fundraiser with a different set of eyes. Virtual, mobile, curbside and Zoom were our official 2021 buzzwords. Thankfully, we had access to all of the tools necessary to host a virtual interactive event, including a mobile bidding platform, social media, a web presence, Zoom and our incredibly talented IWA Technology and Communications teams.

Thank You The COVID-19 pandemic has redesigned our classrooms. As a result, school work is assigned and submitted via Google Classroom so all students in grades 2-12 are required to have computers with them for each class. Students either bring their own device or check out a loaner from the school. This allows them to login into Google Classroom to read materials, complete and submit their assignments and take tests. Although we have computer labs and some classroom computers, the labs do not provide adequate technology support for the new online platform. In addition, the devices prove to be a great testing tool for teachers since the Chromebooks can be locked during a quiz or test, restricting access to browsers, websites, and apps. The increased technology will enable us to provide loaners for students who may not have their own device or to provide them with a back-up device in the event that one stops working.
