Founded in 1871, Incarnate Word Academy is a co-educational Catholic school that serves 3-year-olds through high school seniors. The school is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Corpus Christi, Texas.

TUITION ASSISTANCE Financial aid is available to families based upon need. Through generous community members, we are able to provide tuition assistance to approximately 32% of students, totaling over $775,000, average awarded is $2,800. PARISH/CHURCH TUITION CREDIT Families may receive a Parish/Church Tuition Credit of up to $100 per student if the family is an active, registered, contributing member of their parish/church. The family will need to submit the Parish/Church Tuition Credit completed and signed by the parish pastor. The amount awarded will be applied as a tuition credit at the start of the year, having the balance of the tuition due divided over the 10 months of tuition payments. Parish/Church Tuition Credit is not applicable to Elementary Level-Traditional or Montessori students.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION MULTI-CHILD DISCOUNTS If two or more students from an immediate family are enrolled, the family may be eligible for a family rate discount on the annual tuition.  First Student – Full Tuition  Second Student – $100 annual reduction in tuition

Third Student – $300 annual reduction in tuition  Four or more students – $500 annual reduction in tuition

NEW STUDENT APPLICATION FEE There is a $25 non-refundable application fee per new student. The fee is due at the time of application.

DID YOU KNOW?  IWA is the #1 Catholic High School in the State of Texas (TAPPS 4A Division) in Academics, Athletics, and Fine Arts.  At IWA, we are excellent stewards of our treasures. It actually costs less to educate an IWA student than it does a public school student.  The tuition charged by IWA covers approximately 87% of the cost to educate our students.  Because of generous community members, we are able to provide tuition assistance to approximately 32% on needbased financial assistance totaling over $775k, average award is $2,800.  IWA has a consistent 100% high school graduation rate.  100% of IWA graduates are accepted into colleges and universities.  IWA students exceed the top 10% rule of entry into colleges such as Texas A&M (Class of 2013, 31% acceptance), University of Texas (Class of 2013, 11% acceptance) and Baylor (Class of 2013, 23% acceptance).  The graduating class of 2013 (63 students) was awarded $5.7 million in scholarships.  Our athletes consistently excel in the sport of their choice. Many of our students are State champions, and attend college on sports scholarships.  Approximately 15,000 hours of community service is performed annually by IWA Middle Level and High School Level students.  2,500 IWA graduates live, work, and make a difference in our community, country, and nation.  100% of classrooms are fully equipped with mounted projectors and interactive SMART Boards, with many classrooms having digital cameras. The ratio of students to student computers is 3 to 1 and 100% of teachers have one or more computers located in the classroom. In addition, there are 5 computer labs totaling 123 computers and 1 laptop mobile lab campus-wide.  IWA provides a secure campus-wide wireless network providing Internet accessibility for faculty and students.

ELEMENTARY LEVEL – TRADITIONAL The Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level -Traditonal program includes a spiraling curriculum, which prepares the child for the increasing rigor of academic challenge for the next grade level. Students acquire skills, strategies, and enriched academics, while strengthening their core faith values. Beginning from kindergarten, our youngest students are engaged in a phonics-rich environment and are ready readers as they move to the next level. Our fifth graders graduate with a love and lifelong pursuit of knowledge. ELEMENTARY LEVEL – MONTESSORI Montessori students learn by doing, engaging with specially designed materials that teach one concept or skill at a time, working towards mastery. Every classroom is prepared with a three year span of curriculum, allowing children to progress at their own pace and enable across age collaboration and learning. The curriculum is highly interrelated and students build and expand on materials and concepts already mastered. From three years to fifth grade, children learn to choose their own work and complete a work cycle. By exercising the freedom to make good choices from such a young age, a Montessori student develops independence, creative thinking, joy of achievement, and qualities in which every future challenge can be successfully met.
