STATE OF THE MARKET: JANUARY - JUNE (H1) 2024
Yacht sales plummeted 29% in the frst half of 2024: Both new and pre-owned yacht demand declined sharply compared to 2023. While the brokerage market showed slight improvement in the second quarter, overall sales were signifcantly lower than in 2023 and even 2020.
Surge In Demand For The 131’-164’ (40-50m) Size Range: Despite an overall market downturn, this size range accounted for 17% of sales (up from 12% in 2023), driven by new yacht purchases. Larger yachts (over 164ft) maintained stable sales.
Stabilized Selling Prices: Yacht sales value declined 12% to $3.5 billion in the frst half of 2024. This marks a signifcant downturn from the previous year. Average yacht selling prices dropped by 25% due to weakened demand, forcing sellers to ofer deeper discounts. As a result, prices have retreated to levels last seen in 2019.
Fewer Yachts Entering The Market: The supply-demand ratio is at its lowest point in recent years, similar to 2019. New yacht listings dropped 16% year-over-year and 27% quarter-over-quarter, making it a challenging seller's market for some sizes. Despite this, average asking prices for new listings jumped 20% due to larger yachts entering the market.
Higher Value Of Price Updates: In an efort to drive yacht sales in a slower market, many owners agreed to price reductions during frst half of 2024. Despite average price reductions of $556,000 (up 37% from 2023), and a total discount of 6.7% per listing (highest in recent years), yacht sales remained stagnant.
Yachts Sold Faster: Average time on market dropped 30 days to 501 days (from 532 days in H1 2023), primarily due to quicker brokerage sales. New builds took longer to sell compared to 2023, likely due to lower supply and stifer pricing.

REST OF YEAR OUTLOOK
After a slow start in Q1 2024, yacht sales rebounded slightly in Q2 but remain at their lowest point in recent years. Despite this modest recovery, overall sales reached their lowest point in recent years, with pre-owned yacht sales showing resilience while new build sales declined. Oversupply, which began in Q3 2022, continues to weigh on the market. Brokerage deals for large yachts remain strong. Q3 sales are projected to mirror 2018-2019 levels, with around 200 deals expected.
Slower market activity is expected especially as summer is typically a slow period for yacht sales. Activity is expected to pick up in late August/September, with more price cuts anticipated ahead of international boat shows.
Buyers can expect better deals due to low demand and increased seller fexibility.
Despite this projection, demand for yachts in the 131’-164’ (40-50m) size range will remain a focal point in the market while sales in the 164’ (50m)+ segment are expected to stay stable in both new and brokerage markets.
Demand for new builds has cooled, leading to a 30% drop in new yacht listings since H1 2023. Most yachts currently being delivered were ordered during the 2021-2022 sales boom when prices were high. Shipyards are focusing on completing existing orders, with fewer projects booked for 2026 and beyond, creating potential construction slots for new clients.
Even amidst a slower global sales market, IYC has consistently stood out and ranks in the top performers worldwide. A heartfelt congratulations to the entire IYC team worldwide for its dedication and tenacity, which have driven our positive sales results. This year to date, IYC has signed 34 new central agreements and remains in the top 3 for new sales listings among its competitors. I’m thrilled by our growth, especially as we guide clients in building their dream yachts—with a dozen currently under construction. We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing these beautiful vessels hit the water in the coming months and years.

EAST MEDITERRANEAN DESTINATIONS HAVE SEEN AN INCREASE IN BOOKINGS VS. LAST YEAR
LATEST CHARTER MARKET TRENDS
Slower Booking Activity Across Regions: After a normalized yet strong charter market in 2023, bookings in the frst half of 2024 have slowed down. However, 77% of 2023's total charters have already been booked for 2024. This slower pace in both Winter and Summer seasons indicates a return to pre-pandemic levels. Despite this, we remain optimistic, as current bookings for summer destinations are at 80% of last year's levels, and reservations for the upcoming Winter season are already being made.
Fewer Charter Days Booked Per Yacht: The average number of charter days per yacht is now 65% of last year's average, indicating that charterers are booking for shorter periods than they did a year ago.
More Last-Minute and Discounted Charter Ofers: While the charter market saw a rise in activity across most size categories, discounted weekly rates
27% OF ALL CHARTER BOOKINGS AND 32% OF TOTAL SUMMER BOOKINGS and last-minute deals to fll remaining spots have become more popular to encourage clients to book before availability runs out.
GROWTH SINCE 2015 IN-HOUSE BOOKINGS IN 2024 GREECE REMAINS #1 TOP CHARTER DESTINATION
Summer Bookings Nearing 2021 Levels: Summer bookings are currently at 80% of last summer's fgures. The West Mediterranean lags behind the East Mediterranean, securing only 42% of peak season bookings. However, we expect more bookings as the season progresses due to last-minute deals and special charter rates.
Winter 2025 Taking Bookings: For the upcoming 2025 winter season, bookings are currently at 40% compared to last year. The Caribbean and The Bahamas account for 67% of weeks booked, despite a signifcant drop in The Bahamas. Meanwhile, the South Pacifc and Southeast Asia have seen an increase in bookings, and the Indian Ocean's market share remains stable.

brea KING TRADITIONS
Launched in spring 2024, KING BENJI has been turning heads, offering a charter experience free from limitations…
When the 154’2” (47m) KING BENJI (for charter, page 96) made her debut at the 2024 MYBA Charter Show, she didn't just capture attention; she began ofering a chance to redefne charter expectations. The culmination of her owner, Josh Golder's specifc vision, KING BENJI is a result of an ambitious fve-year build journey. A seasoned charterer and boat owner, Golder envisioned something beyond the traditional luxury yacht. "I felt like production and custom boats were just about sitting inside, and that isn't how I wanted to use a boat," he explains. "There is a new group of people, myself included, more interested in how yachts can help you have more fun and experience the ocean." Aside from her striking blue hull, KING BENJI stands out as a testament to Golder's desire to break out of the mold and prioritize connection with the ocean while flling the gap in the charter market with something unique. A huge team helped Golder bring her to fruition at Dunya shipyard, with Gregory Marshall and Design Unlimited leading the way.
The Beginnings
The journey from concept to completion of this sub-500GT explorer yacht was meticulous, pushing the boundaries at every turn. And because of this, results far exceeded all initial expectations on reveal, as Golder comments: "I was blown away by the boat. It's extremely well done, and this is most people's reaction when they step foot on her."
An extensive pre-build planning process ensured KING BENJI's success. A full-scale warehouse mockup was created, and engineers spent countless hours testing each space using 3D goggles. Multiple models were also constructed to perfect color schemes under various lighting conditions, leaving nothing to chance.
Golder's vision extended beyond the exterior, insisting on interiors that broke away from the ordinary. Drawing inspiration from Miami's vibrant Chica restaurant and the stylish One Hotel, the yacht's interior spaces boast an open-plan yet homey feelelements typically lacking in charter yachts. "When you opt for a detailed interior, it has to be executed perfectly; otherwise, it doesn't look good; we went through multiple companies and designs until we found the right level of detail," says Golder.
Access To Adventure
A cornerstone of KING BENJI's design philosophy was to keep guests connected to the ocean at all times. This permeates all aspects of the yacht's layout, with four decks - also unusual for a yacht this size - seamlessly blending the indoor and outdoor spaces.
"I wanted big open doors and ocean views. If you can't feel the ocean, then what's the point?" Golder explains. "I started with how to bring the outside in, and then I wanted to create a platform that could provide even more access when outside." This thinking led to KING BENJI's impressive toy catalog.
At the helm of the fun is Captain Grant Du Preez; he explains: "We ofer endless options for guests when it comes to water toys. We have four jet skis, which is unheard of for a yacht this size. Add to those a 20-meter FunAir slide, climbing wall, water joust arena, scuba diving gear, the Nor-Tech chase boat, e-foils, Seabobs, the list goes on."
The significant number of toys stems from Golder's desire never to have to wait. "I wanted ten people onboard always to have at least ten fun activities they could do at the same time because no one should ever be fghting over jet skis," he explains.
The water toys are just one part of the fun to be had onboard. The versatile aft deck has become the perfect social area thanks to the thoughtful design process. Du Preez adds: “On most yachts, the sundeck is forward, separating you from the action, but it isn't like that on KING BENJI." The multipurpose space can be transformed to suit any occasion. Whether guests want the area as a platform for entertaining, watching movies, transforming into a basketball court, setting up as a gym, hosting events, or simply relaxing, the opportunities are only hindered by one's imagination onboard.
Caters To All
KING BENJI's appeal lies beyond its impressive amenities. Senior Charter Manager Heather Hatcher emphasizes the yacht's fexibility: "She is just so versatile, ofering so many unique amenities and access to the water; without a doubt, she appeals to all types of clients."
It doesn’t just have to be a full-throttle adventure; many additions, such as the custom tub, have been included for balance. Cleverly divided, guests can either sink into a hot tub or a cold plunge. Golder also highlights one of his favorite features besides the countless activities: "The outdoor shower from the master is a really cool addition, ofering uninterrupted views down the port side."
Panoramic views remain consistent and signifcant for Golder throughout the yacht. Crowning KING BENJI is the observation deck ofering 360-degree views and a comfortable lounging area for guests to soak up the surroundings. "The observation deck is amazing; guests can go up there to relax, spot dolphins, or even enjoy romantic sundowners,” adds Du Preez.
Like onboard all charters, incredible dining experiences are high on the agenda, and KING BENJI delivers. "Every chef has said it's the best kitchen they have seen for this size," adds Golder. Not only did he want to provide unlimited fun and adventure onboard, but also that the yacht ofered
the freedom for guests to create the exact trip they wish. Dining-wise, guests can enjoy a formal or laid-back service, an immersive experience with the chef, eating alfresco, or even up on the bridge.
"The diferent dining areas work out so well that you can have a true chef-tasting experience onboard; for example, you can start at the Teppanyaki bar, move to the kitchen area to watch the chef in action, and then end with the formal meal in the dining area. Guests have also loved to eat down on the swim platform at the water level," adds Golder.
A Crew To Match
With everything and anything on hand for guests to get involved with, the right team to support such a unique charter ofering is vital. As a result-driven entrepreneur, Golder naturally looks for this in others. "The crew onboard now is a very good match for what the boat needs to do," says Golder.
The young and highly driven Captain, Du Preez, ticks all the boxes, has taken the time to fnd the right crew, and put together the ultimate team to support KING BENJI, the guests, and the program. "We only want exceptional crew onboard, and that is what we have; I also hired a crew with additional skills such as a videographer, Personal Trainer, and scuba diver; these additional elements enhance the guest experience even further,” he explains.
Redefning Horizons
When it comes to cruising plans, the yacht wasn't built with a specifc destination in mind - and that is the point. "Wherever the yacht will go, it will be comfortable; she rides extremely smoothly,” says Golder. While the current charter plan focuses on traditional yachting hotspots in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, Golder hints at broader horizons and potential for global exploration: "I think the boat would be really fun in destinations such as Alaska, South Pacifc, Seychelles, and the Maldives."
For now, KING BENJI continues to disrupt the Mediterranean charter scene, as Hatcher notes: "The response from the yachting community has been overwhelming; at the MYBA Charter Show, we had over 200 showings in fve days, the feedback was incredible, and we are already getting interest for 2025."
KING BENJI isn't just a new, unique charter option ofering above and beyond others; she is a glimpse into the industry's future. This yacht caters to those seeking to break free from ordinary yacht charter experiences. As Golder concludes: "Any guest will have a great time onboard, but those who have chartered traditional vanilla-white boats and wished there was more to do are the ones who will love the boat the most."
With her innovative design, versatile spaces, and an ethos prioritizing adventure and connection with the ocean, KING BENJI has truly redefned what a luxury yacht charter can be.
Make a Splash
From the adrenaline-inducing to the slower pace, the latest technology to the classics, a yacht's impressive inventory of toys can transform a great charter into an unforgettable one.
The world of luxury yacht charters ofers endless opportunities for adventures, but in today's market, one element that stands out as a true game changer is the toy box. As IYC's long-standing Sales and Charter Consultant Mark Elliott puts it, "Those who have the most toys win." This philosophy has become the golden rule of yacht charters.
You only need to look at the toy lists available across IYC's portfolio to see how important a varied arsenal of water toys onboard is. For yachts to garner attention, there must be toys to match every mood, enough for all guests and the newest to try out. Having professionals and instructors available, allowing you to master new skills, also adds to a playtime ofering. The toy box is more than just a fun add-on; it's a must-have in today's charter landscape.
All About Toys
While destination, size, and layout play crucial roles in yacht charter selection, toys are typically the deciding factor when choosing between similar yachts.
This sentiment is echoed by IYC's Senior Charter Manager, Heather Hatcher:" You can take two identical 164’ (50m) yachts with f ve cabins and nine crew based in the same location, but if one has a waterslide and e-foils, plus wave runners and other infatables, you can bet the client will choose the yacht with the most toys." The importance of toys has evolved to become a driving factor in the yacht selection process. As Abigail Davies, IYC Charter Consultant, adds: "It may be that one yacht has extra or double what the other similar-sized yacht has. Toys will always infuence choice,
When clients are choosing between similar yachts, the selection of toys makes a big diference as they can visualize all the activities and things they can do onboard.
- ANNA GRANLUND, IYC'S HEAD OF CHARTER MANAGEMENT IN MONACO
especially within the same price bracket as clients can maximize their investment and time on the water."
Toys For All
The evolution of battery and infatable technology, coupled with shifting client preferences, has expanded onboard toy options. Now, there is truly something for everyone. Yachts that offer a wider array of options increase the likelihood that each guest
onboard will fnd something for them. Captain Nikos Sarris from the 141' (43m) SANCTUARY (for charter, page 113) comments: "Preferences often vary within a group. Families tend to enjoy more user-friendly options like water slides and foating platforms, whereas adults often request more adrenaline-fueled equipment like wakeboards and Seabobs."
Water-based fun can also be a way for groups to bond and connect. Frankie Maxwell, IYC's US Sales and Charter Director, adds: "Watersports are often group activities, so the more time guests spend in the water, the more engaged they are with each other and the beautiful surroundings."
Davies emphasizes the importance of maximizing toy usage, especially within multi-generational groups: "One trip I organized had the crew utilizing all the toys; they even arranged an onboard Olympics. It is all about making the most of the toys and that crew interaction."
Variety isn't just important but also the amount of each toy at guests' disposal, avoiding guests having to wait, which is precisely why the 154' (47m) KING BENJI (for charter, page 96) goes above most and ofers four jet skis, similar to SANCTUARY ofering four Seabobs. "If you ofer just one more jet ski, one more e-foil, one more Seabob, etc, then the yacht is in a much better position for increased bookings to come through," says IYC Charter Consultant Carrie Freeman. Thanks to improved onboard space utilization and storage solutions, smaller to mid-range yachts can now accommodate even more toys.
Trending Toys
While the toy box has expanded signifcantly recently, classic favorites like jet skis and Seabobs remain essential to an onboard ofering. Granlund explains: "Despite the novelty and allure of new toys, it is important that yachts continue to carry the timeless favorites that have been popular for years."
Captain Chris Hodges of the 164' (50m) BON VIVANT (for charter, page 85) adds: "Jet skis are always a must-have on the charter scene as they are so accessible and don't require much skill or physical ability."
However, alongside these classics, the toy market has evolved, and newer toys have come onto the scene. Both electric and foiling toys have surged in popularity, becoming more reliable, easier to use and maintain, with the added beneft of quieter operation. The majority of various-sized yachts today such as the 164’ (50m) AS YOU WISH (for charter, page 84) and the 121’ (37m) KOJU (for charter, page 119) carry a selection of e-foils and boards. Hatcher notes, "E-foils and electric boards have been all the rage over the past few years, and as technology improves, these items are consistently being updated and replaced so yachts have the newest and most advanced onboard."
From fying over the water to jumping on top, infatables play a huge part in a typical day onboard. Infatables have come on leaps and bounds; the 221' (68m) LOON (for charter, page 64) has played a pivotal role in collaborating with infatable brand FunAir to develop various toys in response to requests, the Yacht Slide being a pioneering creation. According to Freeman: "Infatables are now extremely popular, but the one that is consistently requested is the slide."
From slides, infatable climbing walls and gladiator-style setups like on KING BENJI to the more relaxing infatable pool with shaded sun loungers like on the 155' (47m) SEA CLASS (for charter, page 99), infatables ofer that extra dimension. "Infatables create the perfect setting for the day; guests can lounge around and enjoy cocktails while watching others on watersports or those using the slide from our sundeck," adds Captain Derek Pearce of SEA CLASS.
These additional infatables can also create more entertaining space for guests; Freeman comments: "The infatable on-the-water beach club is a no-brainer for any charter yacht looking to maximize its potential; it is a quick and easy way to stand out from the crowd. It also allows smaller yachts to be more creative with space and still compete with bigger ones."
Niche Requests
Many charter yachts now ofer specialized equipment and programs to cater to guests with particular interests or those seeking unique experiences. This trend refects the growing demand for more immersive charter experiences beyond typical oferings. Some yachts, like the 180' (55m) NEXT CHAPTER (for charter, page 76), have carved out a niche by providing high-quality tournament and spearfshing gear for a dedicated sportfshing program.
While water-based fun dominates the toy collections, yachts are expanding their inventories to include other sports. For example, LOON now has the latest golfng simulator onboard for enthusiasts to tee of from the swim platform. There is also now more traction for land-based adventures; the 145' (44m) LA LA LAND (for charter, page 107) carries electric bikes, making it easy for guests to explore ashore, or the electric mountain bikes on ofer with the 164' (50m) OURANOS (for charter, page 87).
The growing interest in wellness travel has also given rise to more accessories that cater to this. Most yachts now feature extensive gym equipment, kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes, all perfect for workouts on the water. Whether enjoying a favorite sport, exploring a new destination, or maintaining a routine, specialized oferings mean that each guest can fnd an activity of preference onboard.
Learn New Skills
The days of yacht charter experiences solely centered around luxury are long gone. Charter guests are increasingly seeking opportunities to learn new skills and challenge themselves. Learning new skills during a charter can give a sense of achievement.
Xenia Tsipidou, IYC's Head of Charter Management in Greece, explains: "Clients not only use the toys as a means of exploration, but it also gives them a sense of accomplishment, learning new skills they may or may not have experienced before, all while connecting with nature."
Captain Pearce adds: "I have noticed more guests asking for Fliteboards and E-surfs, and it is always fun to see guests at the start of a charter who may fnd it challenging to progress into semi-pros by the end."
Various yachts from the f eet, such as LOON, KING BENJI, and the 180’ (55m) RARE FIND (for sale and for charter, page 188), have specialized crew members onboard, such as kitesurfng instructors and dive masters. "Having experienced crew who are dive, kite, surf instructors, etc. adds huge value to the program and ofers clients so much more than a luxurious platform for vacation," adds Hatcher. The learning and entertainment factor can extend past the toy box, focusing on what the crew can ofer. Freeman says: "If you have crew members who are dive masters, expert fshermen, nannies, photographers, videographers, entertainers, fre dancers, etc., this all adds an extra layer, so even once you have maxed out on the toys, there are still ways to enhance the charter program."
Chasing
Fun
Another rising trend is the inclusion of chase boats. "Chase boats are becoming increasingly asked for. Yachts such as SANCTUARY, PISCES (for charter, page 101), and BON VIVANT have all recently had brand new chase boats added," comments Granlund.
Not only can these boats provide enhanced comfort for shoreside visits compared to traditional tenders, but they can also accommodate a broader range of activities and signifcantly expand the possibilities for further entertainment and convenience during a charter experience. "The addition of our new chase boat has elevated guest satisfaction and provides more tailored and exhilarating watersports activities," adds Captain Sarris.
Just Add Water
A well-stocked toy box and opportunities for plenty of water-based fun have become crucial diferentiators in the market. While destinations and accommodations remain fundamental to a yacht selection, the toys that create the memories stand out. They provide a unique selling point, setting yachts apart from the competition and ofering guests a more comprehensive selection of activities, enhancing the overall experience and catering to diverse preferences.
Toys offer endless possibilities for fun, adventure, and family bonding. As the industry evolves, the IYC feet will continue to add the latest innovations to the toy box, from toy staples to state-of-the-art watersports equipment and the best infatables. With the right yacht and its toys, all you need to add is water.
Refit Ready: A Blueprint For Success
How to master the art of a yacht reft period that sets you up for summer this winter…
Every yacht, whether six months or six years old, will require reft periods in its life cycle. Refts come in many shapes and sizes, whether necessary for warranty work, essential maintenance, special surveys, system overhauls, a complete redesign, or smaller aesthetic upgrades.
Today, with many shipyards at full capacity, refts have emerged as an excellent opportunity for the yacht charter market. Reftted yachts are gaining signifcant traction in the sector, ofering a blend of top-tier shipyard construction quality with specialized reftting expertise, completing upgrade projects necessary for yachts to stand out in an increasingly crowded sector. However, yacht refts are not an easy feat, with no two projects the same. A team that manages all the moving parts to help navigate the intricacies of the reftting process is second to none. This is where the expertise of the seasoned IYC Yacht and Charter Management teams becomes invaluable, leveraging their extensive knowledge and industry network to ensure a successful outcome.
Start Early
As the adage goes, ‘failing to plan is planning to fail’ couldn’t be more relevant in the yacht reft sphere. The planning stage is essential in eliminating potential issues, delays, fnancial miscalculations, and any other challenges that may prevent the yacht from beginning a new season. Prior to any reft, it is crucial to outline a clear scope of work and a detailed worklist while coordinating parts, trusted vendors, and suppliers well in advance. Yachting spans the globe, and seasons fuctuate, but it is typically optimal to begin a reft process during the winter months to not hinder summer cruising and charter schedules.
Cassandra Bruno, IYC’s Global Yacht Management Director, echoes this preparation: “If we know there is a yard period coming up, we start ordering parts months in advance. For example, HOLDIN' MY OWN (for charter, page 74) entered its reft in May, and the parts ordering began in November of the previous year.” Such a proactive approach accounts for today’s increased lead times on equipment and scheduling vendors, ensuring everything is in place when necessary.
Considering the Mediterranean season runs from May to September, logically reft works are carried out during the winter, starting immediately after the season ends as basic works tend to require a minimum of three months.
- BETTY GKIKA, IYC'S HEAD OF YACHT MANAGEMENT FOR GREECE
Since the pandemic, lead times have remained challenging, so advanced organization is fundamental. Not just parts but also shipyard availability and contractors are essential to consider. Choosing a shipyard is a core factor in a reftting period; the IYC team has extensive experience dealing with ships worldwide, and the collaboration between all parties makes a reft a success. Gkika adds: “In recent years, there has been an enormous increase in yachts, and the workloads have tripled, so it is important to anticipate a shipyard booking and fnd available technicians as it has become harder to ft yachts in.”
Balance Maintenance
While yachts often focus on aesthetic improvements, essential maintenance can be overlooked. The IYC feet benefts from the team’s knowledge, experience, and trusted external network to ensure optimal performance and safety year-round.
Jocelyn Mattana, an IYC Yacht Manag-
er, explains how he anticipates needs beforehand regarding safety and maintenance:
“Whether a charter yacht or not, you always need to have maintenance carried out correctly. As yacht managers, we anticipate months in advance to see when surveys are due, certifcates are expiring, etc., to ensure things are done in time rather than just before the rush of the start of the season.”
One tool the team has at its disposal to streamline this process is the game-changing in-house software BLUE. Exclusively available to the IYC feet, this platform centralizes all aspects of yacht management, from crew coordination and safety to document handling. BLUE harnesses the power of artifcial intelligence (AI) to automate tasks, signifcantly reducing any potential for human error. This technology then enables the Yacht Managers to have increased capability for more skill-based requirements.
As Bruno highlights: “It’s not just about adding more toys, switching out cabinets, modernizing, and painting.
Efectively prioritizing and managing maintenance tasks is an important balance within a reft period because you will lose a charter if, for example, the power system or air conditioning malfunctions.”
Charter Appeal
For yachts in the charter market, staying competitive is crucial. IYC takes a holistic reft approach, considering every aspect that could enhance a yacht’s charter appeal. Alongside maintenance and safety factors, the charter teams feed back any previous preferences and requests, industry changes, and new features that can add more value and opportunity to the ofering.
Liliana Lopez, IYC’s Head of Charter Management USA, explains the advantage of working with such a large feet of over 160 charter yachts: “We have our fnger on the pulse of what is trending in the charter scene and what clients are requesting. There are so many aspects of a reft from the functional to the aesthetics, the amenities and even the branding. We tour the boat, speak with the crew, and use our
charter experience and knowledge; we can then equip an owner looking to reft with all that information and work to include the right elements.”
Such elements ensure the yachts are regularly requested, as Bruno highlights: “Yachts must keep up with trends and be on par, and better, than others that are chartering on similar size and price points. If you don’t have a certain amenity, you will drop of the sought-after list.” The combined expertise of IYC’s team ensures that each reft strategically enhances desirability.
Bruno explains: “While HOLDIN' MY OWN had an excellent previous charter reputation, without one negative review, her owner wanted some upgrades to make her the absolute best charter vessel in her class. One comment mentioned in the previous season was to add awnings on the sundeck, so that’s what we have done; we always listen to the charter clientele.” There are also unique client requests to account for: “We also put a Big Green Egg barbecue on the sundeck as requested by the owner. We didn’t need to do this for chartering, but of course, additions like this in a reft beneft other clients too,” adds Bruno.
“We know the intricacies of what the popular charter yachts look like and what they have. We are seeing clients gravitate toward more modern and fresh looks while increasing their versatile entertainment spaces for them to ofer unique experiences,” adds Lopez. Gkika explains specifc trends for the charter feet: “Over the years, especially in Greece, we have seen a big trend of older vessels going into a reft to aesthetically transform them into a more modern and minimal style, while in reft, these vessels also generally undergo a technical upgrade.” Last year’s winter reft period saw OURANOS (for charter, page 87) receive an overhaul of the beach club area, signifcantly increasing its charter appeal for this Mediterranean summer season. The client’s longer-term vision for the yacht remains fundamental when managing a reft project; whether they will be chartering for another year or fve, the IYC team creates a bespoke reft plan for each charter yacht.
The IYC Advantage
The unique needs of each yacht and client are factored in when keeping projects on time and within budget. The team carries out meticulous planning and research, ensuring that the main priorities and any potential add-ons throughout the process can be met within the timeline.
As a reft project progresses, new ideas may appear to enhance the experience, overall quality, and charter ofering. Gkika explains: “You typically start a reft project with two or three big jobs, and others can be added to the list, especially additional interior and aesthetic jobs that may not have been requested beforehand. This is why it is advised to prepare as far in advance as possible so we can cater to all requests within time and budget scopes.”
Ultimately, the success of such re f ts like those of HOLDIN' MY OWN and OURANOS hinges on the decision made before the works are executed. Regardless of why a yacht enters a reft yard, having IYC on your side, will be the diference between a smooth experience, maximizing your summer cruising and charter potential or one full of setbacks. A reft with IYC will not only meet the needs of the owner but also seamlessly align with what the charter market demands.

From cocoon-like spaces to dare-tobe-diferent décors, today’s superyacht designs are more creative than eversetting trends for tomorrow, too.
With the global pool of buyers having expanded dramatically in recent years, more people are exploring designs that are less traditional. A few of the more innovative, imaginative ideas are laying the groundwork for what future owners may want, too.
Tosay that the 115’ (35m) GUILTY is di ferent from other superyachts is an understatement. Launched in 2008, she has a camoufage-like collage of yellow, black, blue, purple, and white across her hull and superstructure. The owner commissioned the renowned artist Jef Koons to create this, an avid collector of his works. The interiors are equally attention-getting, with neon lettering, murals, and more from the owner’s vast contemporary-art collection.
“It was defnitely pushing the boundaries back then,” says Michel Chryssicopoulos, IYC’s Global Managing Partner, who was involved in her construction.
The angular GUILTY remains in the possession of her original owner, who, Chryssicopolous adds, is still delighted with it.
And therein lies an important point: Though few yachting enthusiasts go to the same degree as the owner of GUILTY, everyone can agree that this is what custom yacht design is all about.
With the global pool of buyers having expanded dramatically in recent years, more people are exploring designs that are less traditional. A few of the more innovative, imaginative ideas are laying the groundwork for what future owners may want, too.
First, though, it takes more than just an owner and a designer to execute a novel concept. It also requires a broker knowing which shipyard is up for the challenge, Chryssicopoulos notes. The Italian Sea Group (TISG) is among them. IYC has introduced several owners to TISG, resulting in some powerful design statements. The 143’ (44m) power catamaran THIS IS IT (for charter, page 110) is a prime example. “Nothing is symmetrical, literally nothing,” Chryssicopoulos says. “It’s nearly perfect that nothing is symmetrical. When you actually walk around the boat, you won’t even notice.” Credit comes down to curves galore creating a cocooning efect, and metallic surfaces in bronze, gold, and platinum refecting natural light. In fact, “despite it being a super-modern and high-level design, it’s still a cozy project that makes you feel warm,” Chryssicopolous says. “It follows the owner’s brief, which was, ‘I want to feel at home and I want to feel well, and I want my guests to feel cozy.’”
Two other TISG projects that Chryssicopoulos is supervising take an entirely diferent design approach. They’re 236’ (72m) motoryachts featuring styling and interiors by the celebrated fashion designer Giorgio Armani. Just as Armani’s clothing has long been synonymous with practical simplicity yet also rich with details, the yachts are sober with some down-to-theminutia details. For instance, there’s a lack of steps on all decks, other than necessary staircases. “It was a huge no-no,” Chryssicopolous says.
Another example is the design and execution of the handrails: stainless steel on the outside and an equal amount of teak on the inside. “It gives this warmer feeling to the touch, but from the outside it matches the more austere and metallic profle of the yacht,” he explains. Overall, “the profle itself is unique, it’s one of those designs that really grows on you the more you see it.” It’s certainly grown on others, too: One of the two yachts resold before delivery.
Another creative approach to design gaining a lot of favor emphasizes wellness. “Traditionally when we were looking at both new build and brokerage, my client base would always look at master cabins that had some form of ofce, or study, and now people are moving away from that and bringing in wellness areas,” says Richard Gray, IYC’s Head of Sales UK. Hull number two in the Deep Blue 43 range at Cantiere delle Marche (CdM), a yacht he’s overseeing, features an entire wellness deck. “We’ll have a steam room, sauna, comprehensive gym, juice bar, and cold plunge pool, all on the sundeck,” he explains. All this is aboard a steel-hulled yacht engineered like a ship. CdM initially staked its reputation on rugged-looking explorers, and while the looks of its yachts have changed, the emphasis on robust construction and machinery hasn’t. Matthew Stone, IYC’s Managing Partner in California, attests to this. “Historically speaking, when someone would hear of an expedition boat, they’d think of the rugged, tough-looking, utilitarian-style vessel, where now CdM can put the same attributes in a white yacht,” he explains. “The vessel is more appealing to the family.” Speaking of family, the owners of the Dutch shipyard Moonen create a family-like atmosphere
for customers, Stone says, striving to be more hands on with them. “They truly foster each individual relationship and go above and beyond,” Stone explains. The owners of Moonen have even fown out to meet with him and some of IYC’s clients interested in Moonen’s classically styled, long-range steel and aluminum series, like the Martinique line. “They’ve been very successful with the Martinique line,” Stone continues, pointing to deliveries like BOTTI and MOONSHINE as proof of how no two are alike. The 118’ (36m) BOTTI has a highly customized exterior and Palm Beach-esque interior, while the same-size MOONSHINE has colors and textures evocative of moonlight. “They have the same (exterior) design team, but two incredible interiors, which is a testament to both owners, the shipyard, and the designers,” Stone asserts. Gray also works closely with Moonen and agrees with Stone’s assessment. “They're focusing on building two boats a year, prioritizing quality and craftsmanship and working to create truly custom interiors tailored to each client's vision; and their ranges have been well-received," he says. “The Martinique is a fantastically well-designed yacht.”
Interestingly, another shipyard that has quite a strong relationship with customers takes a bit of a novel approach to design. Croatia-based Tramontana Yachts, a new shipyard, is owned by 30-year-old Antonio Ivanisevic, who established it to tap into his country’s history of shipbuilding. “You’re talking to the builder and the owner in one person,” says Martin Juhar, the IYC Sales Consultant representing the three Tramontana-built yachts currently available for both sale and charter with IYC.
It’s nearly perfect that nothing is symmetrical. When you actually walk around the boat, you won’t even notice.
- MICHEL CHRYSSICOPOULOS, IYC’S GLOBAL MANAGING PARTNER, about THIS IS IT
Remarkably, Tramontana has launched three steel-hulled motorsailers in the past three years: 158’ (48m) CLASE AZUL, 172’ (52m) SCORPIOS, and the 2024 delivered 171’ (52m) REPOSADO, each diferent from the next in terms of design. CLASE AZUL (for sale and for charter, page 196) has contemporary fair and striking stonework; SCORPIOS (for sale and for charter, page 192) has a light, airy, and relaxing ambience; and REPOSADO (for sale and for charter, page 195), boasts a serene, minimalist design with burgundy accents, open layout, and fowing lines.
The shipyard has each in charter, to test the market’s reaction and of course attract customers. “They’re not just a builder who send a yacht of and it never comes back,” Juhar says.
“They directly operate their charter yachts, and gain unparalleled insights into guest experiences and crew feedback, allowing them to refne design and functionality. This unique approach truly sets Tramontana apart."
Striving to meet customer expectations is a priority for Heesen Yachts, too. Sara Gioanola, its PR and press ofce manager, says its younger clients spend time diferently aboard compared to older generations, so this impacts the looks and amenities. ‘Younger buyers prefer modern and versatile interiors over traditional opulence,” she says, prioritizing open-plan layouts as well as spaces promoting healthy living. Charter guests do as well, and the successful 180’ (55m) MOSKITO (for charter, page 77), a Heesen delivery from 2021, has delighted them with her sauna and beautifully tiled steam room in the beach club. Similarly, “younger purchasers are also placing a higher value on sustainability and eco-friendly features,” Gioanola says.
As one of the few shipyards making its own interiors, “We are dedicated to utilizing alternative materials, such as sustainable woods and materials that can be recycled,” she says. These complement choices like hybrid propulsion and energy-efcient systems.
Designers and their suppliers have been taking note of the lifestyle-driven design choices as well. Valentin Goux, president of Rinck, which creates custom millwork and furnishings, sees younger clients pursuing a more relaxed way of living onboard and desiring greater comfort and eco-friendliness.
Older generations, meanwhile, prefer Art Deco and some centuries-old infuences. Regardless, “the level of expectation is the same,” he notes. “Even if it’s a much simpler, lighter volume, it has to be absolutely perfect,” and materials must be beautiful. “Even when it looks simple, it’s extremely complicated,” Goux adds. That holds true for the custom furnishings that Rinck is making with Zuretti Interiors for The Lounge by IYC at the Monaco Yacht Show. The space, for IYC clients and partners, will feature curvy shapes, including curved wood, which is challenging to execute. “We are known to be the people you call when you don’t have a solution,” Goux says, smiling.
Just as it takes superior craftspeople to execute highly speci f c and high-class designs, it takes clients not satisfed with the status quo. They don’t have to be like the owners of GUILTY or THIS IS IT. “It takes a special breed of people to do that,” Chryssicopoulos says. However, he continues, yacht owners who create something unexpected do tend to open doors. “I think you will defnitely get a part of the market that will say, ‘I want to do something maybe not as bold, but I’m willing to take more risk on my next construction,’” Chryssicopoulos believes. After all, he continues, “Everything is something that when we frst saw it, we thought, ‘Oh my God, this is crazy.’ I think that’s how any industry will keep on evolving.”
IYC & Sunreef: A New Era In The UK
The partnership between IYC and Sunreef Yachts, with IYC as the exclusive commercial agent in the UK since May 2024, unites two major players in the superyacht industry. An alliance rooted in a shared vision where sustainability and luxury thrive and one that allows Sunreef to expand its global presence and reinforces IYC’s position in the UK market. Founded in 2002 by Francis Lapp in Gdansk, Poland, Sunreef is a leader in luxury catamaran design, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and pioneering eco-conscious models. The latest ULTIMA range pushes design boundaries, blending monohull and multihull advantages with energy-efcient propulsion. Sunreef consistently sets new standards for environmentally conscious yachting without compromising comfort or style. To explore the driving forces behind this collaboration, the IYC UK team - Richard Gray, Head of Sales, and Jamie Swaine, IYC and Sunreef UK Sales Executive, sat down with the father-son duo at the helm of Sunreef: Francis Lapp, President and Founder, and Nicolas Lapp. The conversation delves deeper into Sunreef's commitment and passion for innovation and sustainability.
How is Sunreef approaching sustainability in yacht design, construction, and operation?
Francis Lapp (FL): We continually explore sustainable materials and technologies. We use fax fber and PET foam in construction, and our R&D lab is researching recyclable plant composites. We are also introducing quality alternatives to teak and further developing our sustainable interior furnishings. Our yachts also beneft from solar power, use clean electric propulsion, and incorporate energy-effcient air conditioning systems. These are just a few examples, and the list of sustainable practices we employ can evolve depending on the client.
Nicolas Lapp (NL): We are constantly trying to minimize our carbon footprint, using materials with a negative CO2 footprint and better processes. For example, our Sunreef 80s are built with 600,000 recycled plastic bottles. It's vital to incorporate sustainable practices in every stage of the boat's lifecycle. For us, it all starts with an energy-efcient design and is followed by a responsible build process.
What inspired your commitment to sustainability?
FL: My career began in electrical installations, so I've always found energy distribution fascinating. From day one at Sunreef, we've focussed on fnding smart solutions and optimizing processes. It's an ongoing journey, especially in the realm of superyachts. NL: Being part of something purposeful and innovative is incredibly motivating and something I am proud of. We're proving we can change the yachting world by developing new technologies. Our approach isn't just about being energy-efcient; it is about leading the industry toward sustainability.
Can you explain how Sunreef is leading the industry in this sustainable direction?
NL: We invest heavily in research and development, allowing us to ofer a comprehensive package of eco-friendly solutions. From solar technology, electric engines, and batteries to AC, water management, and sustainable decors, we're optimizing every aspect of yachting for sustainability. We are
building two 43-metre electric sailing superyachts with composite-integrated solar panels, demonstrating that luxury can harmonize with the environment.
What current trends are influencing Sunreef Yachts' strategic decisions and product development?
FL: We don't follow trends; we create them. Over twenty years ago, we launched the world's frst luxury catamaran and have never stopped innovating. This pioneering spirit keeps us ahead of the game. Today, there is a massive increase in interest in sustainable luxury multihulls - a trend that started long ago at Sunreef's drawing board. Now, it is one of the strongest trends in the industry, and even big monohull manufacturers are trying their hand at building them.
What are the most efective strategies that have driven Sunreef's growth?
FL: Our 'time to market' capacity is an essential strategy. We introduce new solutions efciently because we focus on in-house work rather than relying on subcontractors. This independence gives us a signifcant advantage in timing, ensuring our designs reach the market before they become obsolete. It's not enough to have a good product vision; you need to turn that vision into
reality and introduce it to the market at the right time.
What is driving Sunreef's focus on larger yachts?
FL: There's a powerful multihull trend in the superyacht sector. Clients are becoming more aware of environmental footprints and seeking energy-efcient alternatives. With yachts like the Sunreef 43M Eco 140’ (43m), we're proving that the superyachts can be more sustainable, using sails, electric engines, solar panels, and sustainable materials. We are building bigger yachts because we know we can positively change the sector.
What are some of the unique design and engineering challenges that come with building larger yachts, and how is Sunreef Yachts addressing these challenges?
FL: The main challenge is to meet our customers’ expectations while remaining in line with the regulations. All these challenges are tackled by a dedicated superyachts team that we created. It’s exciting as we are creating the superyachts of the future. Superyachts do not have a great reputation in terms of sustainability, our challenge is all about changing this image and proving that superyachts can be energy efcient.
How does Sunreef balance the desire for larger yachts with sustainability?
NL: Catamarans are inherently energy-efficient, making them the ideal sustainable boat. With superyachts, we apply the same philosophy as our smaller range, ensuring a 360-degree approach to sustainability. Our R&D is crucial in making everything more efcient, from sails to engines and batteries.
Customization is a key aspect of luxury yachts. Can you share some examples of unique customizations you have done for clients?
FL: There are many examples, but if I were to point out a few, I would start with the folding mast that we designed for one of our customers. This customer ordered a sailing superyacht with a double deck superstructure. There was one special condition to the order –the yacht had to have a folding mast in order to pass under a couple of bridges. The idea was to lower the air draft from 126' (38.5m) to 79' (24m), and for this we needed our carbon mast to fold forward at 90 degrees. Nobody has ever carried out such a mast on an 80ft plus yacht. I asked around a lot, but in the end, we designed and built everything by ourselves.
What are Sunreef's growth plans and vision for the future?
FL: Superyachts have long been part of our product portfolio. We entered this segment in 2010 with 144' (35m) and 102' (31m) sailing catamarans. Today, the market is more open to welcoming catamaran superyachts, and we're seeing more Sunreef owners upgrading to bigger models. While we expect to see more superyacht Sunreefs, our range will remain diverse to cater to various customer needs. The time is right, and the market is ready.

Our Oceans: Partnering for Progress
Joint eforts combining pioneering partnerships and initiatives ofer more eco-conscious solutions for IYC’s feet and beyond…
Our oceans are not only our playground but also our lifeline. In recent years, the superyacht industry has seen increasing awareness, shifting agendas, and conversations on the pressing need to develop more sustainably to protect our oceans. But while these discussions are paramount to progress, what about tangible solutions to implement today?
Through strategic partnerships and forward-thinking internal initiatives, IYC is committed to creating a sustainable future for yachting. As the company and feet grow year on year, sustainability agendas are being prioritized. "It is our duty to lead by example," says IYC's CEO, Raphael Sauleau. Passionate about sustainability he ensures that this core value is refected in the company's responsibility: "By reducing our carbon footprint and conserving resources, we are protecting the environment and ensuring a better future for generations to come."
Company Commitment
The recently launched internal initiative, "IYC: Make It Green," is a comprehensive program spearheaded by a core Green Team to help drive positive change. The program will work to reduce the company's carbon footprint, minimize waste, and conserve resources and energy across all 15 ofces globally. Key actions of this program include implementing waste reduction strategies throughout our ofces, establishing green guidelines, prioritivvzing suppliers and partners with a sustainability commitment, actively participating in local environmental events, and organizing worldwide eco-focused initiatives.
IYC Monaco has also recently signed the 'National Energy Transition Pact' with the Monaco government to signify the beginning of this company-wide pledge. The Pact is working toward reducing Monaco's greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
While company initiatives are crucial in the quest for a more sustainable yachting industry, true progress requires collaboration with multiple organizations and companies to pave the way to a better future.
Change-Making Partnerships
One of these changemakers is OCEANR, a forward-thinking company transforming custom apparel. Founded by Tom Cotter, whose passion for the oceans stems from childhood summers on the Greek islands and was later honed while running a water sports center in Australia. Fast-forward to today and the sustainably focused company is now at the forefront of supplying world-class resorts, diving centers, and the superyacht industry with its eco-friendly clothing and accessory options.
OCEANR's commitment to sustainability and circular approach has been highlighted by its recently achieved impressive B-corp status and the implementation of its center of excellence for sustainable manufacturing. Their business model revolves around three pillars: people, product, and planet. "We believe in transparency," says Cotter. "Anyone is welcome to visit our factory to see operations frsthand." This open-door policy extends to the supply chain, which undergoes regular internal audits to ensure adherence to eco-friendly standards.
Recognizing the power of collaboration, Cotter believes that individuals and organizations are isolated, so has forged many strategic alliances as an antidote. "IYC saw us as a way of improving things as basic as uniforms, yacht merchandise, giveaways, charter gifts, etc.," says Cotter. "It is a very collaborative and supportive partnership; we beneft from the exposure to their worldwide feet, including 160+ charter yachts." Along with previous and current eco-friendly products and apparel provided by OCEANR, they regularly run diferent campaigns and initiatives to help the ocean clean up. One example is the "25 in 25" campaign, aiming to remove 25,000 kilos of ocean plastic by selling customized eco-friendly feeces and jackets.
Continually innovating and improving, OCEANR always looks for alternatives to improve the current options. Pushing the boundaries of searching for new materials, their fabric innovation hub is exploring bio-based materials. One exciting development is using seaweed: "We have just developed a seaweed t-shirt; it is of incredible quality and so soft, but at the moment, it isn't commercially viable." Similarly, the hub has been delving into hemp to replace linen. These cutting-edge fabrics represent the next frontier in more sustainable clothing options, moving beyond recycled polyester and organic cotton while positioning the yachting industry to embrace such pioneering advancements.
Alongside these fabric developments, OCEANR has ambitious plans. "We are seeking funding to expand our production facilities; I would love to set up a manufacturing arm in the UAE," adds Cotter. He also hints at the possibility of exploring a 'return, repair, recycle' scheme dedicated to yachts: "I am hoping over the next few years we can ofer yacht services like this, to improve sustainability further, while still maintaining that luxury element, so instead of throwing items away, they could bring them to such a facility."
OCEANR isn't alone in its mission to provide actionable steps. While they ofer solutions to the industry with more sustainable options, others have formed platforms to help cleanup eforts, like the recent partnership with ARTEMIS, a student-led organization in Greece working to reduce beach pollution by creating cleanup kits that IYC has distributed among its feet cruising there this summer.
The kits for our clients include waste disposal bags, gloves, an informative brochure, and guidelines for waste collection. "We recognize the value in long-term commitments to leaving a better world for future generations. By working together, we can make a signifcant diference in preserving our planet," says Sauleau.
Future-Focused
These partnerships demonstrate a growing commitment to sustainability across the yachting world. "Collaboration and participation in industry sustainability initiatives are part of our commitment and core values. We are very proud to be part of long-standing partnerships, and we see action today with an impact on the future," concludes Sauleau.
As the yachting industry advocates for more sustainable solutions and continues evolving, these partnerships and company-led initiatives lead the way, demonstrating that luxury yachting and environmental responsibility can coexist. While the exciting future potential of investing in further innovation positions the yachting sector as a driving force for positive change.

is the h tendereart
All classic yacht tenders are designed to be elegant and exclusive. But for Forbes Senior Yachting Writer Bill Springer, no other tender looks, performs or makes him “feel” better than a custom-built J Craft Torpedo. We sat down with him to fnd out why.
During Bill Springer’s early career as an editor at numerous American yachting magazines, he was lucky enough to sail thousands of ofshore miles on a wide variety of yachts. Since then, his job as Forbes yachting scribe and video host has brought him on superyacht adventures from both Poles to the equator, and to nearly every tropical destination in between. He’s dodged highspeed hydrofoils on the brown waters of St. Petersburg, Russia. And anchored in impossibly blue water of uninhabited islands in the Seychelles, Scandinavia, the BVI, and The Bahamas.
But as we found out recently, the elegance and mystique of classic yacht tenders holds a special place in his heart. In fact, he confded in us that he believes the “image of a beautiful woman wearing a scarf and oversized sunglasses being whisked out to a superyacht aboard classic wooden speedboat defnes the luxury and grace of the yachting lifestyle better than any other image in the world.”
And while superyacht tenders can vary from super-sleek all-electric-powered limousines, to big, bold, and brash RIBs powered with multiple outboards totaling over 1,000-horsepower, he still believes the image of the classic wood yacht tender remains at the pinnacle of yachting lifestyle. And since few have spent the last 30 years writing about the superyacht lifestyle quite like Springer, hearing him wax poetic about something he’s obviously spent many hours pondering has been both fun and thought-provoking. We only asked him one question.
“What’s
your favorite classic tender?”
It’s a subject that’s he’s thought a lot about, he quips.
Any rare classic tender will get my blood pumping whenever I get a chance to take one out for a spin,” he says. “But after spending time aboard a J Craft Torpedo in Monaco, the Hamptons, and Palm Beach, I can say from experience that this modern classic is more than just an impossibly elegant, awe-inspiringly beautiful, and extremely rare 42-foot-long speedboat. In fact, I think they are unlike any other yachts in the world. They have soul.”
This is simply because a few, uniquely talented craftsman (who build each Torpedo by hand on a remote Swedish island where their ancestors have literally been building boats for more than 1,000 years), know they are building boat for passionate people who understand that a J Craft Torpedo is way more than just another object to own. She’a a living, breathing work of art that will evoke always feelings of pride, respect, glamour, and love—and—be capable of cruising at close to 50 knots ofshore too.
And how these timelessly beautiful speedboats are built is only one way the brand is unlike any other. “The other, and to my mind,” he adds, “the even more remarkable thing is the way a J Craft Torpedo can make you feel.”
“For some, the feeling is…pride in knowing that they’re members of the extremely exclusive J Craft owners club. For others the feeling is…relief. Not only have they earned the ability to escape to the sea on a boat built specifcally for them,” he says. “They can rest assured in the fact that they own one of the most elegant, best-built, ofshore-capable, 42-foot-long speedboats in the world.”
“Or maybe you’re like me? he asks. I feel transformed almost as soon as I step aboard."
t’s hard to explain, but I’ll try. The cares of my land-based world immediately slip into the background. The air feels fresher. The sun feels soft. And when the Torpedo levels out on a plane, and the wind is in my face, and my friends are enjoying a respite from the landbased stresses of life together with me, the feeling is just like the pure joy I felt as a kid when my love of the ocean, and boats, and adventure was born.”
“Does that amazing escape happen because each hand crafted J Craft Torpedo takes a small passionate team of uniquely talented Vikings well over 8,000 hours build?” he notes. Well, yes, and no. “Yes, because, of course, artisan-level craftmanship always plays a part in the physical sensations that happen when a beautiful, well-built boat is used for its intended purpose. But that’s not the only reason. In fact, the reason these yachts move me so much is because
"J Craft’s special brand of beauty, quality, tradition, performance, style & technology transcends the boats they build."
I like to think that every time I carve a turn, or cruise from one luxurious location to another, or jump of the back at my favorite swimming spot or pull up to a dock to a waiting group of admirers I get to connect to the passion and love that each J Craft team member pours into each boat they build.”
“And nothing is better than that. Except maybe having one on a private dock in St. Tropez in the summer or Palm Beach in the winter,” he concludes.
