PORTFOLIO Imane FIHRI-FASSI
Imane FIHRI-FASSI Architect and Photographer Hello :) I am Imane, an emerging architect from Morocco. I studied architecture in my early twenties at Ecole National d’Architecture de Rabat. There I had the opportunity to discover and enrich the artistic side of my personality. I learned how to use different colors and materials to tell different stories and to creatively express my feelings and thoughts. I also got the chance to enrich my photography skills through workshops and online courses. Through the years I learned how to let my creativity flourish on its way and be happy with what I produce whatever the result is. In this portfolio, you will find a selection of photos that remind me of happy moments. Some are taken in Morocco and others were taken in Europe and Turkey. Enjoy your Tour ;) Happily Yours Imane FIHRI-FASSI

Zaouiat Ifran, 2018
Rabat Rabat is the capital of Morocco. It is known for its administrative vocation. Nevertheless, this imperial city is rich with historic and natural treasures that make it a very romantic and sensational place to live in and to explore perpetually. I had the chance to live in Rabat for almost seven years while I was studying architecture. I had the opportunity to discover it with the fresh and optimistic eyes of an ambitious university student. I used to attend events, go on photography trips and most of all it was the subject of many of the exercises we had in school. In a nutshell, I can call Rabat my second hometown for I am so attached to this authentic yet contemporary city. In the few pages to come, you’ll find my entries for some photography competitions about Rabat, the city of lights.

Sunrise at Chellah, 2018
“Chellah, one of the most enchanting and enchanted places in Rabat. The first nucleus of the city, the first marriage of land and water, a mixture of architecture and nature, rigor and scents ... But what is Chellah? On its own, it sums up the whole complicated history of the region. Let’s judge. Excavations have revealed a series of strata dating back to the beginning of Rabat’s historical period, ie the fifth century BC. It was successively a Mauritanian establishment visited by the Phoenicians, then a Roman port, then a Roman ruin, then a Marinid necropolis, then a Marinid ruin before becoming a major tourist spot in Rabat!” From the Book : RABAT-SALE De Bab en Bab, written by Hammad BERRADA and Xavier COUPLET

Assunna Mosque by night, 2018
The Assunna mosque was built under the reign of Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah around 1785, with an area of 5565m2 it becomes the fourth great mosque in the Kingdom after those of Hassan in Rabat, Hasan II in Casablanca, and the Qaraouiyne in Fez.The prayer hall is subdivided into three large naves and runs parallel to the wall of the qibla. Decorated with two pavilions reminiscent of those of the al-Qaraouiyine mosque, it provides permanent ventilation and lighting for the oratory. Characterized by its vast dimensions, it rises outside the walls of the royal palace and dominates Boulevard Mohammed V and its monuments from the colonial era.
