In Search of happiness, Urban design in service of the Human
Happiness, the ultimate goal of all human beings , is now being studied by urban planners and neuro-scientists to figure out how spaces we build affect our emotions and subjective well-being.
Inspired by the books "Places of the heart : the psychogeography of everyday life" by Colin Ellards and "the happy city : transforming our lives through urban design" by Charles Montgomery, this thesis paper is a humble attempt to answer one of the most relevant questions of the modern era: How can we as place designers, conceive spaces that have the capacity to make people happy? In other words what are key elements towards urban happiness? In a second hand, I tried to see potentials of dreaming about psychologically sound cities .
