COMMeHUB – is a rapid response community for a residential community in Sheffield UK. Its building envelope can be manipulated to suite various locations. As a community Resource centre, it provides a place where the residents assemble and discuss relevant issue, a social Hub for the community and a place where people can be

immediately accepted as members of bigger population.
The floor plan is approximately 100m2 based on modular concepts including the choice of internal partitions. The floor-plan can be arranged in multiple layouts. Programs and events are good strategies for strengthening community identity, increasing social interaction, and supporting a variety of goals associated to health and wellbeing (CDC, 2011). COMMeHUB have a planned program of spaces. The spaces are well suited

SUSTAINABILITY & ADAPTABILITY SITE LOCATION AND CONTEXT IN THE RESIDENTIAL CONTEXT The Rapid response project compliments the trend in construction to minimize waste, labour and time consumption. The concept was to combine and optimize MMC (Modern methods of construction) with local techniques and local materials. The Simplicity of the structure and form of design makes it possible for low craftsmanship in setting up the structure. The raise building allows air to flow underneath cooling the floor of the building. The pitched roof collects Rain-water for servicing the building.

It is vital to take the accessibility of public space into proper consideration owing to the ageing population. A public space is everyone property and must be accessible to all (Godapellg - 2012). The Spaces are designed for maximum accessibility for people of all demographics through a demountable ramp, stairs, fire exits and generous outdoor dining areas. The building is designed such that it adapts to its immediate surroundings and take advantage of the beneficial opportunities of the site - his creates positive social interaction and passive surveillance.

products and process based on principles of compressed refuse. The process of pressing, stores energy in the system, causing a higher state of material properties. The primary structure is a grid of asymmetrically pitched Glulaminated frames connected by flitch-plates unto the base plates. It is supported by an edge and Ridge beam to ensure longitudinal bracing. The glulam member spaced approximately 3mx3m bears the infill for the Sandwiched panels made from 200mm compressed STRAWTEC systems.

MATERIALS AND FINISHES The interior walls are 100mm StrawTec wallboard finished with 12.5mm recycled paperboard serving as wall-board, the Ceiling is finished with exposed natural roof materials. The fenestrations are Operable and a pulley & hand winch system compliments the North elevation. Glazed openings on the North & south elevation from floor to ceiling admit ample daylight. A generous sitting niche provides optimal area for dining and informal gatherings with a view out to the surrounding neighbourhood.

SPATIAL COMPOSITION As seen from the rendered images below, the Interior is simple but refined: Flexible and demountable partitions define the building into 3-spaces (the Reception, the cafĂŠ area and Service Zone). The design concept for the interior is centred on Spaces that are flexible and visually interesting. The Dinning and reception Space is not only suitable for meetings but for smaller events and seminars as required by users. The Porous & shaded outdoor areas encourages sociability, and enhances air-flow into the building.
