Vitaliy and Elena Vasilieva Vitaliy and Elena Vasilieva visual artists . born 1966 / 1975 , a family couple of artists work in the co-authorship. Currently based out of Nice, France. Making art - since 2002. Some people are drawn to create and express themselves, others are drawn to reflect, to analyze. But in the end, they all could be creative if they had the desire to explore the way in which they are integrated in the world of their experiences. Because creativity is really a rebirth, a true tone we feel for ourselves and for our world. Then our work becomes a real part of who we are. Maybe all this is a question of how deep we are willing to go…

Paul Cooklin In our digital world of 'instant everything', which is mostly mass produced, Paul Cooklin is drawn to analogue film and traditional darkroom printing. His preference for film over digital derives from the nostalgic and timeless 'look' of black and white film, with it's tonal qualities and grain. He is also drawn to the rules of the negative and the traditional printing methods which he finds more rewarding due to the hands-on approach needed to make an individual silver gelatin print.

Denise Prince I’m an Austin, Texas based artist who works in a variety of media including film, photography, and performance. Early on I was influenced by conceptual and critical theory at CalArts in Los Angeles but also held a commitment to work being accessible to all audiences. The key feature in all of my work whether it is working subtly or is explicit is the interpretation of meaning. Much like the language of advertising, I appreciate and play with what are normally hidden ideologies. I’m captivated by the way we read and make sense of the world around us without being consciously aware that we are making meaning. Society is organized into imaginary hierarchies we have been taught to read and signal so fluently we tend to believe they’re real. I like to point that out. Some work, as I said, points to that subtly. But it is what drives my art practice.

Alex Stehouwer and Marites Stehouwer-Recio We are Alex Stehouwer and Marites Stehouwer-Recio Alex is from the Netherlands and Marites was born in the Philippines, so we are a worldly couple. We try to have holidays once or twice a year and our holidays go to the Philippines and the the south of Europe. The pictures are mostly taken by Alex and it is primary just a hobby. I like to process the most of my work into an artistic style, because most things are already seen and done on this planet.

Igor Vitomirov I have over 20 years experience of working in photography and has a broad expertise in the area. Education: Photographic art Bachelor in Art and Design Master in Design I love nature and people, their interactions, between different emotions. My photos show my processed reflection of feelings and impressions of the world near me. Sometimes is lack of words to describe something, that is the reason I use images to refine the emotions and display them in different shapes and colors. I live and work in Malmo and Vienna.

Dave Ogren My name is Dave Ogren. I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I began my education with photography taking pictures of places and things; travel shots, landscapes, etc. During a short conversation with a friends wife, she mentioned that while what I shoot is interesting, people generally want to see pictures of other people.

Derek Seaward Born in Swansea, eldest son of 9. My father was a fisherman. I didn’t go to sea I became an accountant, taking pictures in my spare time. After 2 years, I won a place at MCA a prestigious photographic course in Britain. A new life, realizing the beauty of how light fell on objects from dawn to dusk and, using artificial light to replicate the same in the studio. I started in fashion, spent a year assisting. But with my love of light, the still life images in my portfolio gave me my first commissions. It also got me a job assisting the still life photographer, David Thorpe. 2 years later I had the portfolio and confidence to face the world of London advertising. Had my first studio and was shooting campaigns and winning entries in D&AD. An Art director who loved the way I lit my subjects, asked me do the same with cars. It was what I needed. Shooting autos challenged me more and more, in both studio and location. I had found a world I loved, large objects shot around the world in all the places I dreamed of.

TONY ZAZA Tony Zaza taught himself how to draw on rainy days in Hoboken, New Jersey when it was still a rough and tumble town of dockworkers and assembly line laborers. He studied painting, photography, printmaking, and graphic design at the School of Visual Arts and the New School during an era when it was embarrassing to admit one had artistic tendencies and Max’s Kansas City was still unknown.

Jan Kuipers I try to produce happy and colourful works, though there’s always a link to our reality, which isn’t nice and to the way humans behave, which isn’t very smart or honourable. So I don’t think positive about this world and my drawings try to be a counterweight.

Claire Brewster Claire Brewster lives and works in London, but started life in the semi-rural county of Lincolnshire. Brewster is a multi-disciplinary artist working in paper, metal and painting. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally, showing regularly in London, other parts of the UK, USA and Europe. "My work is about fluidity and movement. I aim to capture moments in time and preserve them. They are imagined situations. Are the women being observed or are they the observers, I'm never quite sure."

PAINTING

Sara 'Savant Artist' LaMothe My first artistic creation was done on the white backdrop of my moms' white leather sofa...it was also my most painful creation! Since then I've refined my skills using Prismacolor markers and a variety of household shapes and templates to create vividly colorful, geometric abstract art. I've also challenged myself to offer custom designs based on the client's choice of colors and personal theme or word.

PAINTING

Nina Ždanovič I was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania. I was always an artsy kid, doing painting, theatre, dance, writing: any form of self-expression I felt was right. The one that stuck with me was drawing and painting. I graduated from Asian Studies department at my University, and moved to Japan. There, I started painting more than ever before, and I discovered a centuries-long traditional Japanese painting tradition, which uses mineral pigments as its medium. As someone living 8,000 km away from the place I was born and raised in, nostalgia and semi-forgotten memories is an important component of my creative work.

Saleh Zanganeh Born in 1983 Saleh Zanganeh is an Iranian visual artist and graphic designer. He received his M.A in graphic design at IAUCTB (Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, Faculty of Art and Architecture) in 2014. In my artworks, figures, especially women, are not happy! Maybe for their condition in my country and the influence of this condition over my mind! I think, this special situation, gives a dramatic sense to my figures, just like a dramatic poem; maybe a dramatic visual poem!

Maarten De Naeyer Being a graphic designer, Maarten De Naeyer (°1992, Belgium) launched Skrew Studio, a one-man project, out of a particular need to escape the widespread digital world in which he finds himself in on a daily basis. Skrew Studio explores the possibilities of translating digital projects into art pieces that are more tangible and tactile. In order to do so, forms and textures, which have always fascinated Maarten, form the basis of this process to leave the digital world behind.

Solemn Light was written for my sister after her husband died suddenly of a blood clot in the brain... I wanted to remind her that the only strength she needed was inside her all along, and listeners have found their own strength in the lyrics. Southampton has seen a HUGE rise in new music and I am so proud to be part of an amazing movement that shows no signs of slowing down! I buy a lot of equipment in the course of my work. I have a Hasselblad camera which is truly my pride and joy. I am always looking for ways to process pictures more effectively.

What advice do you have for others who want to enter your sector? Start by taking pictures. Take all the pictures you can stand. Without experimenting, you’ll never learn where your special talents lie. I also recommend that new photographers study the basics of design and composition. I recommend Learning to See Creatively by Bryan Peters.
