LITERARY FEST The PG Department of English hosted a Literary Fest on 05-08-2022 in the Indoor auditorium at 3 pm with the performance of III SF English students. The program began with chanting, Bible reading and prayer. The English Literary Association intended to take advantage of students’ abstract potential.
A good number of III SF students creatively presented their talent. The objective of the association is to showcase the gifts of the students and to make them communicate in English. It provides a platform for such sapped bright minds who need a proper space to evacuate their energetic literary minds.
The Master of Ceremony was announced by Ms R. Karishma, the Prayer song sung by Ms J. Pastina & Ms P. Gowri, and the Bible Reading by Ms J. Pastina from III SF. The program commenced with a Mime Performance on a Book named “The Elephant’s Child” by Rudyard Kipling which reflects the genre of children’s literature dealt with the theme of children and their enquiring minds and also presented the curiosity that can open up new abilities, ideas, and knowledge. The participants were Ms P. Gayathri, Ms N. Nagadharshini, Ms S. Nandhini, Ms B. Pavithra, Ms M. Ponnulakshmi, Ms M. Saritha, and Ms S. Sumitha, & Ms V. Suvathi from III SF.
An oratorical speech was given by Ms N. Anusiya to share her reflections on “Bell Hooks” pseudonym of Gloria Jean Watkins, an American scholar and activist whose work examined the connections between race, gender, and class. The students enacted the play ‘The Blue Umbrella’ novel by Ruskin Bond. The performance was like a sugar tart for the audience. The actors' expressions were sharp, gripping performances and effective. The actors were Ms P. Aarthi, Ms J. Bradesha Roshini, Ms P. Gowri, Ms B. Kavitha, Ms B. Poornima, Ms M. Priya, and Ms M. Sivaranjani, Ms P. Swetha, Ms M. Ponnulakshmi, Ms M. Saritha from III SF. The co-ordinating Team members were Ms. M. Suruthi, Ms. V. Sivaranjani, Ms. M. Sanmuga Aarthi, Ms. V. Menaka, Ms. T. Madhu shree, Ms. A. Jenifer Parveen, Ms. G. Deepika, Ms. M. Balasri, Ms. A. Ariya Meena, Ms. S. Thivetha from III SF.

Ms T. Ashika Silthana from III SF English delivered the Vote of Thanks. Dr G. Petricia Alphine Nirmala, Head of the Department of English appreciated and encouraged the students for their extraordinary efforts. A momentous day ended with much zeal and enthusiasm.
