The Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region stands UNITED and proudly endorses our National Endorsed Candidate, Darlene Whittington for NATIONAL PRESIDENT!
Jack and Jill Members,
On behalf of the National Executive Board of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated and the Mid-Western Region, it is with great pleasure and anticipation that we warmly welcome you to the 46th National Convention of our esteemed organization, Celebrating A Masterpiece of Life, Love, Leadership, and Legacy.
This year, in the beautiful city of Minneapolis, we have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, participate in enlightening workshops, and forge connections that will last a lifetime. This national convention promises to be a wonderful gathering of servant leaders, powerful ideas, and an environment of sisterhood that will shape the future of our organization and propel us towards even greater heights of success.
The 46th National Convention will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, thoughtprovoking plenary sessions, empowering community service initiatives, and exciting social events that are designed to inspire, educate, and entertain. Whether you are a seasoned veteran of our organization or a first-time attendee, there will be something for everyone at this year’s convention. I encourage you to take full advantage of everything that this week has to offer. Together, we can make this convention a truly unforgettable experience that will set the stage for a successful path ahead.
The National Executive Board, Headquarters Team, Mid-Western Region host planning committee, local host chapters, and our dedicated events planning team members have worked tirelessly to ensure that our 46th National Convention will be a remarkable success. Please join me in extending our appreciation to MidWestern Regional Director Deidre Lindsey and the Regional Executive Board, Chair Anitra Durand-Allen, and Co-Chairs Luchara Wallace and Tamara Pinckney, as well as the many volunteers for your commitment to making this convention a memorable experience for our mothers and families from across the nation to enjoy.
I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as your 27th National President during this very special time. As my role as your two term National President comes to a close, I would like to thank all of the wonderful members of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, the phenomenal 2022-2024 National Executive Board, and my amazing family for your support and dedication in every way. Thanks so much to everyone for joining us as we work, play, and Celebrate A Masterpiece of Life, Love, Leadership, and Legacy! Long Live Jack and Jill!
Committed to Making a Difference,
Kornisha McGill Brown
27th National President
Greetings, Mothers, Associates, and Families of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.,
On behalf of the Mighty Mid-Western Region, it is with immense joy and pride that we welcome you to the 46th National Conference of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. here in Minneapolis, Minnesota!
We are delighted to gather under the theme “Creating a Masterpiece of Life, Love, Leadership, and Legacy.” This theme resonates deeply with our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of African American leaders.
The National Convention is a special milestone as mothers, families, and associates from all 262 chapters across the country gather to fellowship, elect a new National Executive Board, and become reenergized to do the work of Jack and Jill. The journey to this moment has been a labor of love, as members of the Mid-Western Region have worked tirelessly to ensure a memorable and
enriching experience for all attendees. It is our honor to host you in our region.
In addition to our convention programming, we are excited to host families at the Mid-Western Region Family Fun Night, where we all can show our Jack and Jill spirit during some friendly regional competition. As we celebrate, it promises to be an evening filled with laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories. The spirit of unity and collaboration that defines our organization will be palpable as we come together.
As we reflect on our rich history, we honor the pivotal role played by the Mid-Western Region in our organization’s history. The Columbus Chapter, which became the eighth chapter chartered in 1945 and the first outside the Eastern region, hosted the second National Convention in 1947 under the theme “The Responsibility of Jack and Jill Mothers.” This set the stage for our organization’s nationwide expansion, with chapters in the Mid-Western Region continuing to play a crucial role in our growth.
As we convene in Minneapolis, we celebrate our rich history and the future we are building together. This conference is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and fostering lifelong friendships.
To all our mothers, fathers, associates, and children, welcome to Minneapolis! May this conference be a time of inspiration, learning, and joy as we continue to uphold the values of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

To my husband Darius, two children Jordan and DJ, and my entire family,
As my second and final term as the National President of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated comes to a close, I am filled with immense gratitude for each and every one of you. Your unwavering support, love, and understanding have been the strong foundation upon which I have been able to serve this incredible organization with passion and dedication.
Darius, your constant encouragement, patience, and belief in me have been my guiding light throughout this journey. Your support never wavered, even in the face of challenges, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Your quiet strength and unwavering love have sustained me in ways I cannot fully express. I love you and thank God for you!
Jordan and DJ, your resilience and understanding during times when I had to be away have touched my heart deeply. Your ability to adapt, support, and cheer me on from afar have been a source of inspiration and motivation for me to continue striving for excellence in every way for ALL children. Through you, I have received the most beautiful blessing from God of being your mother. You are both my pride and joy, and I am so very grateful.
To my Mom, Dad, all family and many Sister Moms, thank you for your endless support throughout this incredible journey. Your belief in me and your unwavering presence have given me the strength and courage to lead with grace and determination.
I am blessed beyond measure to have such an incredible family by my side, and I look forward to the next chapter of our journey together.
With all my love and gratitude,
ver 23 years of membership, 8 years in service in 18 chapter elected roles, 6 years in regional appointments, 4 years regional elected roles, 2 years as National Convention chair, 1 year National Endorsed Candidate and 4 years as a National Officer. A lifetime on love, friendship and support from across the region and national. A legacy of service, commitment, passion, to deliver excellence and provide lasting impact for our children and all children.
It started with the family, with support from my family and will end in sincere gratitude to the family Jack and Jill gifted to me.
Forever grateful, thankful and blessed!
To my family, my backbone, my strength, my tribe, my heartbeats, my loves, I am grateful and thankful for you. To my husband Sylvester and to my babies, Ashley, Carla, Paige, Myles, and Drew, God has truly blessed me with you. I don’t take that for granted. Your love and support along our Jack and Jill journey have gotten us through the best and the worst, and through it all, we rode this ride together. You continue to show up for me and grant me grace and understanding when I can’t show up for you or am not present. Thank you for serving Jack and Jill with me. I look forward to attending all of your games, plays, events, occasions, everything. You won’t miss me any longer. I’m going to be in the room where it happens, and I’ll be the loudest one there. I look forward to showing up for you.
To the Extraordinary East St. Louis Chapter, you women are truly extraordinary. I thank you for carrying me and standing in the gap as an amazing group of bonus moms to my babies. I look forward to returning to Mom Michele and continuing the work of our chapter.
To the Cool and Classy Central Region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., thank you for your support and allowing me to represent us. It has been truly my honor and pleasure to serve you.
To Jack and Jill of America, Inc. I love you…On Mission…On Purpose…Always
To my friends and family: As a single mom taking on a leadership role in Jack and Jill can be challenging. When you are on calls every night, travelling constantly, and focusing on being the best leader you can be; there is no one in your home to pick up the slack. I have been beyond blessed to have a village of friends and family that have supported me during my Jack and Jill leadership journey. I want to give a special shout out to my mother, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends aka “Aunties” who have stood in the gap when I wasn’t available to make sure my son Blake had everything he needed. Because of each of you he has always felt loved, and supported.
To my son Blake: There are no words that can adequately express my love for you. You are my why. Why I work hard. Why I advocate not only for you; but for all black and brown babies. Why I will serve until my last breath to make sure you and every other black man in America is seen and confidently have every expectation that they will have the opportunity to make their dreams a reality. You challenge me, support me, and encourage me. Most of all, you simply love me unconditionally. Because of you, I have been blessed with the honor of being called MOM. Thanks for always bringing your authentic self to all that you do. I am so proud of you and excited to sit in the passenger seat as you navigate your life’s journey; becoming the leader I know you will be. You are resilient. You are empowered. You are a difference maker. You are loved. You are wonderfully and simply BLAKE!
To my G-Men,
Gordon Jr., Gordon III and Grant, I am so thankful for the support that you have given me along my Jack and Jill journey. You have given me the space and grace to serve at every level of our organization and for that I'm truly grateful. You are my home team and have been my biggest supporters and encouragers. Stan, our family's Jack and Jill journey started with your mother back in the 90's and although she is no longer with us, I hope that I have done my job to continue the Houston Family Legacy... I pray that I've made Grandmom Mary proud. Gordon and Grant, you have been in Jack and Jill almost your entire lives and have served our organization at the chapter and region al level. I am thankful to God for the young men that you are today.
I love you all forever!
am so grateful for your love and support over the course of my Jack and Jill journey. Tre and Nic, I'm sure you do not remember a time before Jack and Jill, as it has been something that we have been engaged in as a family your entire lives. Sid, what a blessing to have been able to raise our family with the families of the South Charlotte Chapter, other Charlotte area chapters (now up to 5!), within our region and nationally. Jack and Jill has taken us to places across the globe and treated us to experiences we could not have imagined. I thank you for coming along with me through it all. I can see how Jack and Jill has positively impacted each of you, in new friendships and enriching activities. As I relinquish my Jack and Jill duties, I want you to know that I am appreciative of the sacrifices you have made that have enabled me to serve as I have. I don't take them or you for granted.
Sincerely, your Wife and Mother,
Iwant to extend my deepest grati tude to my wonderful children, Brayden and Carissa. Your unwav ering support and dedication over the years have meant the world to me. Your commitment to the mission of the organiza tion and your patience with my responsibili ties have allowed me to serve in a leader ship role that I cherish. I could not have done it without your love, understanding, and encouragement. You are the best children a mother could ask for, and I am
