After School Poetry Workshops Every Tuesday | 3:30 - 5:00pm | FREE | 13-19 These after school poetry workshops are for students who enjoy writing, reading, and studying poetry. These informal workshops not only promote literacy, self-expression, and community involvement; but focus on a selected poet, reading their poems and biographies, exploring different types of poetry and sharing original work.
CREATIVE ART WORKSHOPS
3rd Saturday of Month | 11am - 1:00pm | $5 Explore your artistic side and build new friendships! Every month, our instructors will introduce guests to an exciting art form providing both introductory and intermediate techniques that will enhance your skills. Learn how exciting becoming a creative can be! All supplies are included.
LUNCH WITH ART
The Lecture Series 2 nd Thursday of Month | 12:15 - 1:15pm | FREE Join our Curatorial Consultant Derek T. Davis as he guides you into the world of the Ely Family while you are enjoying your lunch! As you eat, experience a unique cultural experience that teaches Pompano Beach history and focuses on the people who made a difference in the community. Get inspired by this monthly event that will features unique informational lectures that unlock a piece of the past that may change the future. Guests are invited to bring their lunch, and a friend.
STORIED WORKSHOP SERIES
2 nd Saturday of Month | 1 - 3:00pm | $10 Become a better storyteller! Facilitated by a writer on Oprah’s OWN NETWORK, Richard “Byrd” Wilson, will provide user-friendly training and techniques to help turn the most meaningful events of life into unforgettable narratives. Storied is a series of four workshops (last workshop August 10) designed for an inter-generational audience with the goal of enhancing the way we share our personal and family history, along with our culture.
