1 st Thursday of Month | 12:15 pm | FREE Take a break from your day, bring your lunch and unleash your creativity. As you eat, enjoy a unique cultural experience that turns us all into poets. Each month, create, listen or watch different poems designed to spark the artist in you. Each workshop encourages you to step out of the mundane and explore your potential and escape from the daily stresses of life while remembering how beauty can be found in even the most simplest of words. Free Wi- Fi and light refreshments will be available.

POMPANO BEACH CULTURAL ARTS AWARDS

May 15 | 4pm - 7:00pm | FREE Pompano Beach has talent! Come celebrate with us as we honor the outstanding creative leaders in our community during a very special free event, the Pompano Beach Cultural Arts Awards. This year’s arts award ceremony will honor Spoken Word Poet Eccentrich, Curtain Call Playhouse Artistic Director Kris Coffelt and Sirju S. Mohan.

CHILDREN IN THE ARTS PIANO COMPETITION

May 18 | 7:00pm | FREE Piano greats in the making will converge at the Cultural Center for the 2019 Annual Children in the Arts Piano Competition Winner’s Concert and Awards Ceremony. Hosted by The City of Pompano Beach Children in the Arts Committee, the City of Pompano Beach and the Broward Teachers Music Association.

MONTAGE: A FILM SERIES

May 30 | 7pm - 9:30pm | $10 Niki Lopez was recently profiled in People magazine sharing her emotional story of growing up in a cult and her eventual escape. Now, through her art and film, she is encouraging people to heal from all sorts trauma by facing their demons. This event includes a very special screening of her short film, “Caressed” as well as a group discussion.
