Spring 2017 Professor: Nicole McIntosh The Thick Facade

Display Space 149 Wooster St. New York, Ny Given a site in Greenwhich Village, we were tasked with creating a facade for storefront display. Using the precedents, Architecture Storefront by Steven Holl and The Kukje Gallery by So-il. I hinged the facade leaving behind some extrustions as reminants and then drapped over the facade, creating different levels of transparency with the windows as well as creating a unique space inbetween the drapped facade and the windows. Model Making, Vacuum Forming, Rhino, V-Ray, Illustrator, & Photoshop

Fall 2017 Professor: Ivan Bernal Thornden Park Community Arts Center Syracuse, NY Given a site in a park, we were tasked with building a Community Arts Center. Using the operation of stacking, started with a unit that stacked to create a new unit of modules, that were used to create the final form. The texture of these units creates interactive spaces for people to occupy as well as better acoustics. The form at the bottom is comprised of four sided pyramids and as it goes up and becomes more complex switches to three sided pyramids, creating more intimate spaces for studios. Rhino, Mental Ray, Illustrator, Photoshop, Casting, & Vacuum Forming

Spring 2017 Professor: Nicole McIntosh Designing an Urban Building Makers Space Syracuse, NY Given a site in the historic Hanover Square District, in Syracuse New York, we were tasked with creating a makerspace. A place where people with common interests, in computers, machining, technology, science, and digital art can meet, socialize, and collaborate. While still relating the building to the context, I did this by relating the topography of the area back to the Makerspace. Model Making, Rhino, V-Ray, Illustrator, & Photoshop
