From The Chairman Of The Public Health Trust Board Of Trustees, Darryl K. Sharpton Together we are strong. Unity is the essential value that symbolizes Jackson Health System’s legacy and its future. a better organization. We have also launched a massive capital program that will enhance and expand Jackson in the very neighborhoods we are needed most. Most people think and see Jackson as one central Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus near downtown Miami – this is certainly our flagship, but our geographic presence is so much larger and still needs to grow. Our future is built around investing in areas of Miami-Dade County that are closer to you. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be invested in Jackson’s presence in your neighborhoods over the next decade. This includes major renovations

A New Jackson Over the past century, Jackson has evolved into a major healthcare force. We are now entering a new period of transformation, thanks to funding from an $830 million bond, our partnerships, and the support of our community. This is a time of growth – and it’s a reminder that we’ve pushed through many difficulties along the way. From deadly flu epidemics, to hurricanes, to budget challenges, we’ve paved the way to a healthier community and a robust public health system – all while holding fast to the mission of service that Dr. James M. Jackson dreamed of when he opened Miami City Hospital in June 1918. Welcome to a new Jackson.
