the unknown, and the uncertainty of what happens next.”

“Our COVID-19 Thrive Campaign is creating two jobs (virtual therapist and support staff member), who are helping a third person get back on their feet,” says founder Lequita Brooks. “Those out of work need mental health and career coaching support to re-enter the workforce. People are grieving job loss, loss of normalcy, fear of

Sponsorship includes six months of virtual coaching support via a HIPAA-compliant platform, unlimited text support, an individualized COVID-19 Thrive Plan, solution-focused strategies, and referrals for additional services as-needed. “Company sponsorships are the ideal way for businesses to help laid-off employees re-enter the workforce,” notes Brooks. “There’s a way for any individual, philanthropist, or company to get involved in this program including, volunteer positions, individual benefactors, and company sponsorships. Like everyone else, we’re evolving to meet new workplace demands in unnavigated times.” u

n an effort to meet the needs of out-ofwork Americans—and the stresses that come with looking for work—local wellness center TherapyTopia has launched a series of virtual mental health and career coaching services. To support its mission, the clinic offers a sponsorship structure that, at minimum, supports three types of individuals: a laid-off worker, virtual therapist, and a support staff member, for six months.

Close Contact LOCAL HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS ARE DOING MORE THAN AIDING THOSE WHO HAVE TESTED positive for COVID-19—they’re helping determine who else might have caught it, too. Those who test positive for the novel coronavirus are urged to contact the state Department of Health, which will help patients trace back two days prior to the onset of symptoms. Contact Tracing allows for the identification of those who may have come into contact with an infected person and the subsequent collection of further information about these contacts. So if you test positive for COVID and aren’t quite sure when you got it, you can narrow it down (and then notify others who you may have come in contact with). If you want to go further back than two days, though, you can actually become a professional yourself. Johns Hopkins University has now waived the fee for its contact tracing training course, and is currently training thousands across the U.S. u

PASTABILITIES

T

o gin up much-needed income in the midst of a pandemic, restaurants and food purveyors across the country are offering souvenir merchandise in addition to food to go. Creativa Pasta Co. typically offers a selection of noodles—from squid ink canestri to basil gemelli—but when COVID impacted their ability to get fresh pasta to clients, they began offering more than just edible products. Their selection of merch features vibrant colors and cheeky sayings—all hand-pressed on shirts, bags, and the likes. We’re partial to the “Talk Pasta To Me” tote ($25), though the unisex tees ($30) let everyone know whether you’re team Pomodoro or Bolognese. pastacreativa.com u
